This is a review right after my appointment time at Imotion. I am kind of dealing with a serious issue with my health and I am getting physical therapy at imotion. All the therapist are very knowledgeable and they are good hands on therapist practitioners. However their operations SUCKS big time. I am a sonographer myself and I know how insurance and medical facilities work. I come in today for my appointment and I was told I cannot be seen. Because my insurance needs to be authorized after certain visit, which is ok, I understand that. But they completely didn't call me and tell me that they cannot see me today and on top of it they sent me an appointment confirmation reminder saying that I have appointment today. If getting reauthorization takes 2-3 business days ( pretty sure they do it for many people) how hard it is for them to let me know that on my previous visit or which was just Monday! Or just call me before my appointment. The front desk wasn't not even ready to talk to a manger until I demanded to talk to someone. I feel this is totally disrespectful and complete disregard of patients time. If we as patients do any mistake even come in like 20 mins late, it will be completely different story. What if it's their mistake?? I had to not take two other appointments ( not beauty appts but healthcare appts) which was offered exactly at the same time because I had already scheduled this. This just shows how no one cares about the patient, just as long as the money gets paid!!!! Truly disappointed!!!! And for all other yelpers, they have the remainder system that reminds exactly 24hrs before the appt time and the cancellation/ rescheduling fee time starts exactly at the same time which I addressed also. I went to iMotion after being recommended by PAMF in Palo Alto, when their own physical therapists had no available appointments. iMotion was more conveniently located so I decided to give them a try. The physical therapist went over the referral and examined me diligently, determining the exact nature of my injuries. Therapy started that day, and appropriate follow up visits were scheduled. It's hard to say how much I might have gotten better without them, but I started therapy after seeing a doctor since I hadn't seen any improvement in a month prior to that. Over the course of a few weeks of treatment and appropriate exercise, the pain went away and functionality returned to normal. read more

This place was recommended by my doctor at Palo Alto Medical and I ended up in ER because of very hard treatment. I have been fighting sciatica nerve pain for the last 2-3 weeks. My first visit was okay. On my 2nd visit, I had an appointment but there was no place for me to get therapy except a open table which appeared to be used to put stuff on. Therapist Abby worked so hard on my leg, my pain started soon after that and got worst by the evening. Later at night I ended up going to ER due to severe pain which I could not tolerate. It's a crowded place, looks dirty and seems like lot of patients are coming through welfare system. I was asked to come back in by the owner/manager but I said no thank you. read more

Dr. Shah's response is so pathetic I have to laugh. "For that reason, we always inform patients of their cost within the first two visits of beginning treatment." I never received any such information. "At that point, we send out the statement only for the amount the insurance company has deemed the patient's responsibility." Totally false. I requested a bill from the iMotion staff 4 times and never received one. (I documented this in communications with my insurance, and as such have proof that the statement is false.) I asked for a bill because I wanted to stop the low-quality "therapy" if the deductibles grew too expensive. Since I never received a bill - or any idea of how much iMotion charged - I wound up with a huge bill which took over 6 months to pay off. (Turns out it was much more than $900.) I'm still rebuilding my savings from that massive hit. I did speak with iMotion's billing specialist. She was a nice lady who took several minutes to explain what she had in my file. It sounded like the financial decisions were made before she received any paperwork. These are the reasons why I find this response utterly hollow and insulting. Unless Dr. Shah wants to put some substance behind his "apology," I never want to hear from him or anyone else at iMotion again. read more

worst experience that one can have. My wife went for physical therapy after seeing very good reviews. but it turned out a nightmare and we are going to different therapist after couple of sessions. her physio was Sweety (that's what everyone was calling her). they had one physio and 8-10 patients. she was the only one looking after them. first of all she gave very little time to for therapy and she was hopping between all patient. imagine one therapist is looking 8 patient in half an hour. After every therapy my wife had more pain. More argument started once we decided to leave them. they were not ready to give docs directly. they wanted us to have one more appointment with physio therapist saying its there policy and dc has to measure again. All in all neither get good therapy nor service. read more

This physical therapy place is really top notch. I've been to other pt places to compare. IMotion therapists along with their staff of assistants are all very talented and specialize in different areas. Everyone always calls me by my name and makes sure there is always a positive atmosphere. All the receptionists are also very polite and positive. Very well managed health care. I have been seeing Pratik for two years on and off. I first met him becoz of a back injury and shooting pain - I needed a time slot after 6 PM in the evenings. I was first apprehensive about whether he would be able to treat me, but within a few sessions I was feeling much better. The best thing I like about Pratik is his flexibility with appointments and how he would go out of way to make me feel better. There is definitely a personal touch to his service. One thing I would rather see there is some smart front office people. They are kind of always putting you on hold and ask Pratik for every single thing. I had a bad ankle and foot injury from soccer last year. The ankle was stiff and painful. Couldn't run, climb stairs, and pretty much physical activities like biking, games, hiking, etc. came to a stop. I was asked by my Ortho to go to PT. I couldn't find proper timings at the PT they named, so checked with my insurance and found iMotion. I am glad I did. I saw either Mr. Pratik Shah (owner) or Ms. Sweety Shah, depending on the schedules. Results speak for themselves -- I am actively playing soccer this year. Then a few months ago, I started having a lot of pain in right shoulder and a throbbing pain all along my right arm. Not entirely sure of the cause, could have been during parallel bars. Anyway, I was able to work / type only after ice-ing my shoulder and arm throughout day. After 2 months of this, again went on PT. Currently, the pain in the arm is gone, most of the shoulder feels much better -- just in a space of about 10 visits. The therapists at iMotion took their time to look at the symptoms, and prescribed accurate and effective rehab therapy. Also, since the therapists work together and discuss the case among themselves, I was able to go to anyone available at a time convenient to me. I have also at times requested for very early or late hours, when I had bad pain, and Mr. Pratik was always willing to help. Pratik Shah, he is just amazing. I have been suffering with severe lower back pain, not able to walk, not able to sit. Its pretty bad constant pain with which I couldn't even stand without some support. I was very fortunate that I chose iMotion to start with. I called iMotion office for an appointment, no slots available next two days. I explained my condition to front office executive, she spoke to Pratik immediately. There you go, Pratik extended his work hours, gave me a slot. I got a call back and informed me about the time slot to meet Pratik. I could meet Pratik in just 3 hours from my first call to iMotion office. Pratik went way beyond, helped me to get diagnosed by an MD in just 2 hours, though the MD availability was very tough. My treatment started in iMotion, just after two sittings, my pain went down largely, a big relief, I was able to do all my day to day activities without any additional support and without pain. Along with Pratik, Sweety and Ray also very very nice and experts in understanding the current condition of the patient and then do therapy. Staff at iMotion very courteous and friendly. I would definitely recommend iMotion. I came here in Sept '11 with 6 breaks in my knee(Tibia Plateau). I was operated on and have some h/w inside. I was a little hesitant to begin with. But Pratik & Niki knew exactly how to get me back on my feet. I must say I am very impressed with their treatment. They are very friendly and give you personal attention (something you definitely need with the type of injury I had). Also, in my time at iMotion, I have seen other patients come in and leave in a much better shape. I have seen older individuals walk in pain and leave in a much better shape. The team at imotion are the absolute best. I had a major operation 5 years ago and needed physical therapy for my core abdominal area. Pratik gave me a consultation the first day, was very thorough, and friendly. I continued therapy with excellent results for 6 months. Every visit I was able to get more and more independent at the session and at home. I gradually noticed small changes that made big differences in my life. Last year I had a medical issue, prolonged bedrest gave me severe muscle atrophy. I was a little embarassed to be setback again in my physical therapy, but Pratik made me feel ok with it and we set up a goal. Anytime I have pain in an area, or muscle stiffness, he is immediately able to find the problem, and work on it - often resulting in immediate relief or relief within a few days. I have talked enough about Pratik, but I can also say he is warm, enthusiastic about your progress, and takes a personal interest in your health. Sweety I have worked with only a few times, but I see her every visit. She and the entire staff are always very welcoming and want to know how you are doing. From when you walk into the front door at reception, Michele greets me really nicely, asks how I am, even if I am grumpy and didn't feel like coming in, everyone is really nice to me and encouraging. It makes the hard work of physical therapy much better. Jeff and the other assitants are really nice, we talk during the session if I want, or if I need quiet time, if its too hot, too cold, they provide me with whatever I need or want for my comfort. I would never look for or recommend another physical therapy team, they know what they are doing and keep a really friendly, positive environment, while you are trying to get back on your feet. They have great equipment, looks brand new, well maintained, they also have a antigravity treadmill, which I think I might use in the future. A typical visit is 45 minutes to an hour for me. There are generally 3 to 4 therapists working with patients, when I go, which is prime time after work hours. Several assistants and sometimes two receptionists. Its busy with people using the machines independently, one on one therapy sessions for some, assistants helping with some patients, while others are having the electrode thingys, they put on some patients, or heat or ice. If I ever need help, feel pain, or something unusual I just speak up and my needs or questions are addressed immediately. I love the imotion team and the progress I make every visit. read more

The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The machines are well kept and in good Condition. The most important thing is you feel 'at home' over there. Pratik himself and all the staff are interacting with you constantly and making sure you get the right treatment. They monitor your progress and change the treatment exercises accordingly. When I started I could hardly walk and had difficulty balancing...in 6 weeks I was running on the anti-gravity treadmill !! My improvement in health because of iMotion was noticed by all friends and family members. I have completed my therapy, but I still plan to continue going to iMotion and do my exercises. It makes me feel good every time I visit iMotion. I very strongly recommend iMotion, Fremont to all who are looking for cure and care under the same roof. I was in a miserable condition before landing here at iMotion and now I am on the path of recovery and almost back to normal life. Million thanks to Dr. Pratik & Ray for helping me. I had tight muscles, numbness and tingling all over the body and my pinky finger was completely numb. Mainly my neck and shoulders were very weak and I was not able to manage through my work day. I work in IT and I have to sit for min 8 to 10 hours and last 3 years have been really tough on me. I was really getting frustrated and depressed as I was not getting proper help and answer to my problems. I saw chiropractor, neurologist, nothing was really helping. I had to do MRI of brain, spine, nerve conduction testing, lab tests, thyroid tests, vitamin deficiency test and what not. So with each passing day, my condition was getting worse. I then googled for physiotherapy in Fremont and this place showed up. I emailed my issues to Dr. Pratik before making an appointment as I was really tired explaining issues to everybody. Pratik asked me to book an appointment and discussed my issues thoroughly. He suggested exercises focusing on improving my core strength and introduced me to Ray who is having vast experience in body work. Ray and Pratik continued working on me and suggesting different exercises based on my conditions at the point in time. As I was really in bad condition, I knew it is going to take time. With continuous efforts on both sides, I started getting results and tingling/numbness started disappearing and I was gaining my muscle strength. Ray had been very patient listing to my issues, complaints and helping me relieving tension and stress. It was a long journey however I finally found a place which had an answer to my issues. I think this is where one person's best could be another person's worst. My experience with this facility has been an interesting one. I was going to a very sanitary, attentive, highly skilled and extremely fancy facility, however I had to change due to the distance to my home. When I was given this address it was not because of its ratings, it was because of distance to my house. At first visit, I thought it was government owned because of its sad looking state. The equipment looked dirty, the chairs looked like they never had been wiped down the the dust had piled on the equipment god knows since when. Every time I wait in the lobby chair I can't help wonder about the coffee and the sugar container status. All that a side,I still gave it a chance. My appointments are scheduled for an hour, the therapist spends the most 15 minutes with me and some of technicians or assistance spend the most 5 minutes each to tell me what exercises I need to do. Most of those exercises I can do at home. I end up being in that place minimum of 1.5 to 2 hours just waiting for them to tell me what to do and it is usually the exercises that I can easily do at home and I do not need to drive to their dirty facility to have them tell me to do them. All of those exercises do not require the dusty equipment that never get wiped down after other patients using them. There's absolutely no privacy, everyone is in everyone's business. This past Monday after waiting for 1.5 hours for my therapist to come to check on me to tell me what i need to do next, I finally went to the front desk to ask what is my plan of regiment he went to get my therapist and she said they have another patient that they are working on that in her mind has more needs. I was surprised because I did not know that they were an emergency room. I thought we booked appointments which they provided the times for each patient, how do they decide who is in more need and in more pain? Two and half hours later and only 15 minutes of therapist time with me I left. What am I getting out of this place? Just more pain, stress and prolonging of my recovery. That's what I get for looking beyond the outer look of the place and giving them a chance. They are nice, I guess you have to be if you are not getting to the patients at the time you've scheduled them. My line of business is continuous improvement and it is really hard to watch them not improve. read more

I had back pain and was not able to work as well. Dr. shah remembers each patient's symptoms and he follows up and understand how the patient felt after the last treatment. I am a software developer and i started getting persistent neck pain that would radiate to my shoulder and hands. I never thought it could get serious and kept on ignoring it. One fine day my neck got frozen and i could not even drive and look at the blindspot. I started phsyical therapy with Pratik and Sweety. Pratik explained me the whole issue and how to get back on track. He created a plan and worked magic with his manual therapy. Sweety explained the importance of exercise and training. I started strengthening and toning in about 6 visits. Both Sweety and Pratik gives personal attention and after a while I continued exercising until i could do exercise for straight 2 hours. The Anti-gravity treadmill is great and did wonders. If you are in software world and a contractor, this place is open till late in the evening and on saturday which is also great as you dont have to miss hours at office. read more

I've had PT many times for different injuries and have never found a place that was immediately comfortable and welcoming. I am an RN, so I know what I'm looking for. All the staff are just the right blend of professionalism, compassion, good humor and slave-driver (in the best way). They teach you and watch you to make sure you're doing the exercises correctly. I have nothing but great things to say about Pratik and his team. Caring, emphathetic, and really, really smart. Pratik both treated my specific knee injury (with exercises and manual work) and also diagnosed the ultimate cause of a lot of my physical problems (knee, back and hip) where no orthopedist or other physical therapist had been able to do so in the past. I had such a result from therapy sessions with this team that I will go back there at the slightest pretext. I had my last session there with Sweety in July this year and took my time to review to see if any of the symptoms return or my thoughts about this team change. Not a chance! I feel even more strongly now about their work. I had problems in my lower back, knees and right wrist in varying degrees. Lower back problem was the main one and Dr. Shah knew exactly what the issue was from my symptoms then held me in a vice-like grip and made me do things. I was impressed with his sure-footedness. He gave me clear instructions about home care. Thing going for me was I was always a diligent follower of instructions. After a few sessions, my back problem went away and I moved to other problem areas till I ran out of issues.
