Horrible customer service. Just scheduling an appointment became confrontational. The office manager - Christine, should seriously learn the basics of treating people with respect. One star because Jason tries really hard despite the bad service from everybody else. The receptionist always insist on making me get a prescription even when my insurance doesn't require it. I guess the doctors want to buy another Bentley. Anyhow Jason was good but he was told to only treat one of my problems at a time. I have ankle problem, and my doctor refer this place. I have not read yelp before choosing this place. (I should). I just randomly choose this place, since it is next door to the doctor's office. This is my third week of physical therapy here. My main phsyical therapist is Jason P. He is very knowledgeable, polite, professional. He work with me. In addition, Robel also help me out for my exercise, and explain things to me. I have been to other physical therapy place, I feel this one is the "best". People are very nice and also very customer-centric. (has great customer-service). Even only 3 weeks, I recovered a lot already, thanks again everyone there. In seeking a therapist in the Fremont area who practices Active Release Technique (ART), I visited Darryl Lopez for two stints over the past 3 years. I found the front office and therapy aides polite and attentive to my needs. With insurance reimbursements only decreasing these days, physical therapists are forced to overbook their appointments, so this sometimes led to wait times of 15-30 minutes. I didn't mind this, as long as the quality of care was not compromised. Darryl is attentive and responsive to your daily updates, and when therapy was ineffective after a few weeks, he suggested discontinuing treatment. He then referred me to a few doctors/specialists who might better diagnose me. For this, I'm very grateful for his honesty. I won't hesitate to visit Darryl in the future if ART would be a treatment option for me. I went here a few years ago for a chronic shoulder issue. Definitely learned a lot of techniques/strengthening exercises from Daryl & other trainers. Now I use at my gym. I'm about to recommend them to my neighbor who has some knee issues from sports. These guys and the doctors next door treat a lot of top athletes. Therapy treatment does really give much attention. 75% of it was putting heatpad, ice pack and electrical stimulation. Then a bit of exercises n barely any treatment from the therapist. It did not help my pain and condition. And then they always bill quite a lot. Even with good insurance u end u paying a fair bit. Plus u probably pay certain amount for every visit up front. Add to that the customer service at the front desk is not that great. I would avoid this place. I m sure better care can be found. read more

It is the most difficult situation to find oneself in when your body fails you, and you are unable to work and/or do the physical activities you love to do. I have found myself at Sport Clinic for a few difficult stints after injuries and surgeries. They have been stellar with each and every time I have gone there. People may say that physical therapy is just physical therapy and that you get out of it what you put in (this may be true), but this crew will push you to your limits and pull you back if you are doing "too much". I searched the whole area for a place that could match my drive and intensity and still have enough sense to pull on the reins if I was about to hurt myself-Daryl and his crew matched me perfectly. From the non-athletic to the competition-driven, they work with everyone equally and share the mindset of patient centered care and motivation. From the front desk staff to all the therapists and aides, they are friendly and continually encourage you to reach your goals. Not enough words and not enough thanks. I always tell them that I'd rather NOT see them (because when I do it means Im hurt), but there is nowhere else I'd rather be if I need to get back into peak shape. read more

Everyone starting with the receptionist to the physical therapist to the assistances everyone is very courteous informative and helpful. Darryl has helped me with several surgeries I have had. For the last four years, I have been going to Sports Clinic to see Pono for Chiropractic Adjustments. He is really knowledgeable and always answers my questions with a thorough explanation that I {without any medical knowledge} can easily understand. Every time I go in, I instantly feel so much better after the adjustment. The environment is always clean, friendly, and welcoming. The office ladies are so sweet and remember all of their patients {always greeting them by name as they walk in the door}. Update: I'm lowering this from five to stars. The PT folks are still amazing and Michele was fantastic with my child, too. HOWEVER, the billing people here are a nightmare. They double billed me for co-pays then sent me to collections. My insurance company intervened but a month later, they haven't sent a retraction for the whopping $49 they sent me to collections for. I began physical therapy with Sport Clinic for shoulder rehab after surgery. I have had PT before but nothing like full rehab, and really didn't know what to expect. Michele, my PT, gave me an honest assessment of the timeframe until recovery. Although it wasn't what I wanted to hear (for my particular situation), it was a realistic path forward and helped me plan my life for the next few months. She worked with me, adapted my therapy based on my progress, and moved me forward (of course, I also put a lot into the therapy at home - A LOT). She was great at pulling me back when some exercises weren't right for me but also pushing me forward. Every time I go in, I work with a different technician after Michele evaluates my progress. ALL of them are great to work with. All of them add something different to the program. They're professional, kind, and funny, and they help me move forward. If I need rehab again, I will definitely go to Sport Clinic in Fremont. I am very grateful to everyone there for their help and support. read more

I am happy to have found this place. I just had my fifth knee surgery. My new surgeon and I decided to try another clean up style surgery instead of replacement. I can sometimes be a little depressed about having a knee that seems like it will never allow me the freedom and comfort that I desire. Darryl has given me back some hope. For me, he has just the right touch when manipulating my knee and leg. He loosens things up and seems to know just how much is the right amount before it is too uncomfortable and certainly before it causes more irritation. Then there is the crew. He has a fine bunch of young people working there that treat you respectfully yet they are a very friendly and fun. I have no words to describe Pono Aiona is the best person to work with your injury.. He really fixed my neck always use to have hard time moving, sitting, standing, and walking with all that pain around my neck... I cant express enough, the care that I have received at the sport Clinic, Darryl was great in keeping me informed on my progress and giving me suggestions on what I can do at home to saty on track. I had ACL surgery and 3 1/2 months after surgery my knee was where it needed to be at the 6 months mark. The Entire team kept me motivated and inspired to keep on going and not stop. Special thanks to Justin, he was awesome, he listened to me and worked me out!!!!! They were always on time, and they actually waited for me when I ran late to my appt once or twice!!! mind you I was their last patient of the night And they waited for me!!!! Darryl's group is by far the best group of physical therapists I've visited since my first knee surgery in 1991. He helped me recover from my 4th knee operation, and blew me away. I went from a partial ACL tear to jumping out of helicopters and scaling mountains in 6 months. Now, after a 30% biceps tendon rupture, he had me go from curling 3 lbs dumb bells to 20 lbs in weeks after the surgery, after the doctor said it would take months. I could list all the adjectives you would want to see when looking for a therapist, but that would take too much time, and if you are looking for it I can guarantee that he embodies it, as well as his staff. Darryl will be working on my son as soon as he's old enough for sports. read more

My first review, I feel like I have to speak out. I'm generally a patient person with alot of respect for those in the service industry, since my parents have experience in it. Daryl is well trained and the facility is well equipped, so 5 stars for that. If that were the only thing that mattered to the business, then I'd leave my comments here and give them a better review. However, the front office is a bit of a mess. On more than one occasion, I've been called to reschedule an appointment AFTER the front office realized that staff was not available at that time. Needless to say, I managed to miss one of these rescheduled appointments scheduled at an odd time, triggering their no-show policy. Fair enough. I then make it to my succeeding regular appointments, where no mention was made of any payment owed. A couple of months later I get a past due notice from them. Not super happy that they almost dinged my credit when they were unable to track their own staff schedule and finances. read more

My doctor referred me to see Daryl or Michelle (The only 2 physical therapists there). Instead, I was only evaluated by him and then he gave me to the PTA (Not physical therapist, but an Aid), Christina. I had no say, they said Daryl only treated post-surgery patients. When I asked for michelle, they said I can't switch from Christina to Michelle. Pretty much they only let me see Christina, the PTA, which they are all $65. I'm sorry to say but she has nowhere nearly as much knowledge as an actual PT, and some drug questions she actually answered wrong (I'm a pharmacist, but she didn't know that). She taped me up without ever doing it before and didn't even ask Daryl, who she works under, how to do it. She just followed some paper guide instructions. I had to ask her to ask Daryl to come teach me how to do correctly. I paid $65 for each visit, and it isn't fair that all therapists price is $65 but I was only given one option; her, a PTA. This place is quantity/convenient, not quality. I was getting stronger, but still in pain. Christina seemed flustered that the pain didn't dissipate and was pretty unprofessional and gave me attitude several times when I never talked or asked questions disrespectfully to her. She didn't even know how to answer 1/2 my questions regarding the ankle, i.e., why am i limping? As for graston technique, she didn't even take the class herself. She just learned hands on from Michelle, who actually formally took the graston class. Don't waste your time/money on Christina. The aids that walk you through your exercises though, are spectacular. They're the only reason I continued with therapy there. The1 star is for them. Easy to schedule appointment with christina. read more

Im rating this facility, equipment, doctors an employees a 5 because they are great. Except that since I had insurance to cover my therapy this is where I had a major problem. Im extremely disappointed and that's why im writing about my experience because I won't recommend this place if you have to use your insurance for your visits. Initially I had to sign a form that my insurance will have a copy of $22.50 per visit and 24 visits a year. And each therapy session was for 30 minutes. So I started my therapy and I finished it and I always paid my copay. Weeks pass by and I get a bill for almost $1200. I have called so many times, left messages, went in person but no one was able to help me. The person in charge in billing is Cristina Rodriguez. She never returned my calls, never helped me and of course she never cared about helping her clients. This is her responsibility but did not comply. My insurance was not able to help me because they needed from me the date of each visit along with the charges and since I could not get that from Cristina I was not able to solve the problem. I tried my best but I had to pay the balance due since they were going to send my bill to collection. I don't even know what I paid for. I signed a document that each visit was $22.50 and it was only 30 minutes, so how much are they charging per session? I submitted a formal complaint to the BBB and I have an attorney help me with the claim. If you have insurance be very careful. I read other reviews and people complained about the same; I will not refer this place to anyone that has to submit a claim. read more

Beware of Sports Clinic! I had waited for a couple of months to write this review because I wanted to be sure that their service was indeed bad and it was not just my perception. I wanted to compare this place with others and make sure that I was not misled by my ignorance about physiotherapy. During my first visit Michelle Nomura attended to me and before the session started she mentioned the evaluation and first therapy would take 45 min to 1 hr. She did about 5 min of a test with gel and heat and about 20 min of stretches and declared that she was done - all done in 25 min. Not knowing much about the procedures I believed her. The receptionist then proceeded to bill me on the spot. When I said that I had HSA based insurance and that procedure was to bill the insurance company who would negotiate the rates and then bill me, she said that she is billing me the negotiated rate which would be billed by the insurance company anyway. Again ignorant about the procedures I paid. Later I realized that I had been cheated first on the time spent and misled on the billing. If they had to go through the insurance company, they would receive the money later and had to go through that hassle of billing them and following up. In both counts that had taken undue advantage of the my ignorance. Make sure that you understand the procedures very well before you go this clinic. Otherwise they will mislead you. read more

What a nightmare with the billing part of this business. My wife had no problems with the therapists. It started when my wife first went to them. They said she had to make a $50 payment on each of the first three appointments until the insurance was billed witch it took them three months before they even sent the first bill in. We have duel insurance ( for 40 yrs) and this is the worst billing department I have ever had to deal with. The primary paid and then the secondary paid and the secondary paid more than $100 more than the balance from the primary insurance. I called to get the refund and to my surprise my refund was not the $150 but much less. In 40 years of duel insurance coverage I have never had a billing department be so bad as this one. If you have duel insurance go somewhere else . read more

I got billed 3 times for one hour due to their equipment malfunction. The receptionist flat out refused to believe that was the case and said she charged the card only once. She was not willing to check their electronic records and return the extra 2 times that I was charged. I had to call the credit card company and file a dispute.
