Soo many options, it's overwhelming. The case was stocked to the brim. The donuts were okay. I asked for a chocolate icing donut and she gave me vanilla, so double check your bag before you leave.

    The one & only!

Love this place! Been in business since 1950! My late Grandpa used to walk here every day for the fresh baked Italian bread that still can't be beat! We lived a block away, so we were so Blessed by this bakery! He also used to get us atomic cakes here for our birthdays. Delicious! My cousin was in town last week, so I took him here for the meatball sub& he said it was delicious & the meatballs were huge! Service was very friendly and fast! Will definitely be back. Enjoyed my trip down memory lane!

I have been in this bakery many times throughout the years for their delish variety of bakery and specialty holiday treats but have never ordered a cake from them. Shame on me for waiting so damn long. I decided to use them to order a 10" birthday cake with 2 fillings, one banana and one strawberry with the whipped cream frosting. Omgoodness it was super delicious! The cake was moist, the filling was fresh and the whipped cream frosting was perfect. Plus they only need a day or 2 notice and are open Sat & Sun. until noon or 1 pm. I will be using this bakery for all my special occasions from now on.

Impallaria is a treat for me. I try to stop by here every time I'm in the neighborhood. Hours are limited, so plan the rest of your schedule in Bridgeport slightly around Impallaria Bakery! It's a small bakery with some of the most delicious cookies and freshest bread you'll find. On this particular visit, I had for the very first time their focaccia, and it was super-fresh, warm, hefty and doughy, soft and satisfying. They don't make anything exotic but what they do is delicious. The biggest treat of all is ordering myself a made-to-order cannoli! The young ladies behind the counter grab a tray, a pastry shell, a tub of chocolate chip sweet cream ricotta cheese, ground pistachios, and a sifter of powdered sugar... and then make it right in front of your eyes. It's a sight to be seen and for the 2 minutes it takes to prepare you've already begun to salivate and get excited. You'll be able to sit at one of the two tables in the bakery with a cup of coffee and your cannoli and let everything in the outside world just pass by. Customer service is always fast and with a smile. The bakery is spotless clean and well organized. Get there in the morning if you want to get bread. In the back room...(this probably scares you starting a sentence off this way when talking about in Italian bakery! LOL)... is the sandwich counter! They make a delicious sandwich and have a somewhat limited menu so you know what they do, they do right. Meats and cheeses and dressings are always fresh, the sandwiches are absolutely filling and delicious. You won't want to go back to a chain restaurant sandwich shop for a long time. More often than not, there is a parking spot across the street or in front of the building. If not, double Park in the bus stop with your blinkers on and get in and get out!

I love this place! They have everything from donuts to pastries to bread to subs. The store was very inviting with all the pastries and donuts on display. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. I love how quick and patient they were. The woman that made my sandwich did it so quickly. It's a really good neighborhood bakery and deli. I got the coconut donut, chocolate, pretzel-chocolate, and custard filled donut for $1.22 each. The price is amazing for the size of the donuts. The coconut was really good. It was a bit crunchy which I enjoyed and it was a cake donut which I really liked. I wouldn't recommend the pretzel-chocolate. It's a regular donut shaped liked a pretzel--nothing special to it. I like how fluffy and moist their donuts are. I also got their spicy Italian sub. It's 9 inches for $7.34. It has hot capicola, pepperoni, spicy sopressata, salami, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, and tomato. For the price, you get more than what it's worth. Half a sub fills you up right away. It is sooooo good. Literally a must try!! The Meat and cheese blended well together. The spices were there but not overpowering. I asked for giardinera--they make their own--which is 50 cent extra. I was so disappointed because it seemed like my sub didn't have giardinera at all in it. For something that you pay extra for, I would've liked to have it present. The part of the sub that did have the giardinera, it was phenomenal! It was soo good. The giardinera would have really brought up the sub into a different level if only there were more of it. I recommend this place. You must try it even if it's just a donut or pastry but try the Spicy Italian sub! Definitely coming back when I'm back in the neighborhood.

Impallaria Bakery & Deli KNOWS what they are doing in the kitchen. Came here for National Donut Day 2019 and was AMAZED at the variety! Seriously, you name any sort of baked good and they have it in a variety of forms and flavors Everything looked baked to perfection and extremely fresh. They had everything from jumbo cookies to tomato rolls to pizza to rum balls. Since it was national donut day, we got 4 donuts (total price ~$6). Again, everything was baked to perfection and wasn't overpoweringly sweet. The jumbo pretzel donut is essentially a large glazed donut in a pretzel shape, but it was one of the best glazed donuts I've had in a long time! The toasted coconut had a perfect balance of sweet and salty with a crunchy texture. We loved the donuts so much we actually stopped by the deli and ordered a spicy Italian sub! It was a bit oily for my liking but overall very tasty. If you're looking for a baked good (savory or sweet), Impallaria is the place to go!!

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

I especially liked the longanisa breakfast sandwich and chicken adobo. I'm so glad that they were willing to make the breakfast sandwhiches beyond 12pm for some of us waiting in line. Fyi they normally stop making the breakfast sandwhiches at noon. Be prepared to wait in line for at least an hour, this spot is super popular. I also really enjoyed the chicken adobo. The chicken was tender and I thought the hint of sweetness from the coconut flakes sprinkled on top was a pleasant touch. I also really liked the Manila fog drink - it wasn't too sweet or overpowering. For the ube huckleberry basque cake - I mostly tasted tartness from the huckleberry and not so much ube, but it was good regardless. The staff were all pretty nice. There's indoor and outdoor seating. You'll likely be able to make a friend or two from the wait in line haha. Highly recommend trying this place at least once!

When we arrived there was a huge line, so I wouldn't recommend trying to dine in unless you wanna wait for hours. Matcha latte (3/5): just ok, could use more matcha powder. Filipino Breakfast (4/5): upgraded to both meats which I'd recommend, solid platter but a little pricey. Hashbrown Sandwich (3/5): average, wish they included some kind of sauce like a chipotle aioli. Would skip this and get the Filipino breakfast instead. Apple Pastry (4/5): flakey and delicious. Ube basque cake (4/5): didn't really taste the Ube but it was still good. Overall solid spot for breakfast, I would come back for their Filipino breakfast and to try more of their pastries.

I was skeptical at first because it is a local chain, rather than a singular location. However, it lived up to the hype. Service: it was extremely busy when we came in. The line was almost out the door. They have a system in place for ordering and seating so it worked well and fast given how busy they were. We didn't have any questions on where to order or where to stand when waiting for a seat. The staff were friendly and helped us find a spot to sit at. Ambiance: classic cafe in a city. Loud chatter, but it's a vibe. Very colorful and fun interior with cool textural elements. We had a seat that was facing the street so it was fun to people watch as we sipped and ate. Food: amazing breakfast selection! We ordered the morning sandwich and barbacoa bowl. The morning sandwich had THICK scrambled eggs which were super soft and tasty. I could've used more salsa verde on it. The bread was barely toasted. I'd rate the sandwich a 3.8/5. It got the job done. The barbacoa bowl was "really good" according to my fiancé. A great source of protein, fresh ingredients, nice flavor, and great portions. He would rate it a 5/5. Coffee: I am a coffee snob so I am quite harsh when it comes to reviewing it. Their machine is a cute La Marzocco. Appropriate sized "for-here" glasses according to the drinks. Plus, they were really cute. Wide variety of drink selection from your standards to the more girly-drinks (if there is such a thing). We ordered a cappuccino and small hot mocha. Latte art 4.5/5, temperature 5/5, flavor 4/5. The espresso didn't stand out to me, very standard flavor profile. However, the chocolate in the mocha was delicious. It's more of a rich, dark chocolate. Nice thin layer of foam. Would recommend to try at least once when you're in Chicago! Glad to have stopped in.

We visited around noon on a Sunday, and after reading the reviews here, I wasn't optimistic there would be many pastries left. Maybe I should play the lottery, because luckily there was no line and a pretty good selection of pastries left. The staff were super friendly and there were so many unique flavors of baked goods. We decided to split several and opted for the blueberry cloud cookie, chai cinnamon roll, banana pudding croissant, espresso cornflake cookie, and potato focaccia. The shop was more of a small take-out operation, so we took the pastries to a nearby park to eat. Everything was absolutely divine! The group favorite was the focaccia- the creamy potatoes and cheese brought a rich flavor that was perfectly balanced by the fluffy bread. The chai roll was perfectly soft and delicately spiced, completed with that soft cream cheese frosting and gooey center we all like to see. My personal favorite was the banana pudding croissant- the dough was so crispy that I'm pretty sure others could hear the bite, and there was a generous amount of filling with fresh bananas and visible vanilla beans in the whipped cream. The espresso cookie was super soft- while I couldn't taste the espresso very clearly, I absolutely *loved* the caramel-coated cornflakes topped with sea salt. Super unique and would definitely order again. Despite their decadent appearances, none of the pastries were too sweet. Already plotting a return visit and can't recommend this shop enough!
