Overpriced. $35 for one person? OUTRAGEOUS! Not worth it at all. Don't waste your time or money.

Buckle up... I was charged $32 for a buffet that claimed to have crab legs and oysters on Sundays, and yet had no crab legs or oysters on Sunday. I should have been charged $19.95 plus tax, you know, a normal price for dinner at a Chinese Buffet. They went ballistic when I called their BS. "No wait! It's $29.95 because it's Sunday and we have crab legs!" Please... if there were crab legs at that buffet, I would have STUFFED myself with crab legs at the buffet. Nope, just normal stuff... Dumplings, rice, lo mein, a few shrimp, sesame chicken etc... I tried to be civil. I put $25 on the table and got up to leave, because this was so obviously wrong... and in response they literally treated me like a criminal. I came here frequently when I was young, and moved back to town recently. I was shocked to see that for the weekend dinner buffet it's $32.95/person now. I'm sure prices increased after the pandemic, but the dinner buffet was expensive for the quality of food served. The food was decent, everyone was kind, and the actual environment of the place is still the same, but for the price, it's sadly not worth it. Service was great, but food was horrible, nothing was fresh everything had been left out for hours by the way the food tasted, and then they charge 77$ for 2 dinners and 2 drinks, huge ripoff, McDonald's would have tasted way better and would have only costed me like 20-30$ to eat a decent meal at McDonalds. Came here on a Saturday at around 2pm. Besides the cute koi pond by the entrance the dining area was pretty dark, so reading a real book might be hard. All the normal staples were there, General Tso's & other chicken dishes, pepper steak, fried shrimp and those red boneless pork spare ribs but I am a huge fan of dumplings in general and they had them (not every buffet does). They had 2 kinds of wings, bbq and fried for folks into that. For seafood, beyond the shrimp & imitation crab dishes, other than calamari, and the shellfish in the cold bar I didn't notice or pay attention to any other seafood like crab legs or anything. Sushi is made to order, which honestly was pretty cool; guarantees you get what you want and is fresher than leaving them out all the time. I was slightly confused on the "custom orders cost extra" poster so I just got a couple salmon rolls which were pretty good. There didn't seem to be nigiri option but I was too hungry and didn't bother to investigate (I should do so the next time I'm here!). Ahh yes, I can truly say that from my last visit in Feb of 2023; there has been a few improvements. This time I did not arrive after 3p but arrived when they opened at 11am for that is when I was expecting to get some fresher options and they did not disappoint. Upon arrival, I noticed they added fish pellets for customers to purchase and feed the fish for .25 and that's fine for the kids. I looked around and they definitely gave more attention to cleanliness and overall vibe throughout. We were seated promptly and on our way to secure the first dish. I will say that my chicken was VERY GOOD and lathered in teriyaki sauce. The flavor came with a hint of sweetness and the chicken was plump, juicy and tender,. I sank my teeth into a few pieces and even the broccoli (though cooked and not steamed) was still good. It had hint of sauce about it. The bite came with a nice little crisp about it but we were now off to a good start at Imperial. The Spare Ribs were a bit tough on the chew, cooked longer than need be but again, the flavor was good. Had they been a bit softer, things would be better for their overall appeal. Ouch on the Salmon. It looked good when I went to scoop it up on my plate and I had great expectations here but was let down like being stood up for a prom date. The salmon was dry and I needed to wash it down immediately with my lemonade but it did look good. My boy said his Lo Mein was more like, "NO MEIN" for its flavor was lacking and the noodles were a bit overcooked. That's unfortunate but we must move on to the dessert options. Now my mini brownie was ok, soft and chewy with a decent chocolate bite to it. My chocolate chip cookie was a thick ol thang and though it was decent, it came with a strong cookie chew due to its thickness. My chocolate pudding was nasty though. I could not place the taste for it definitely was not chocolate but more of a fish sauce after taste. Perhaps the wrong added perk in this one? Who knows...... I thought my last item was cheesecake or at least that is what it had looked like but taste more like a poundcake with a cheese like element about it on top. It had a good flavor all the same. Coming to Imperial Buffet when they open is a better option if you are looking to get fresher food options that have not been sitting around forever, awaiting the people. First time here as my mom from Texas was looking for a buffet with soup. Food was good, really. I didn't find anything I got as unappetizing and not tasting well. Braised pork, sesame chicken, walnut shrimp, green beans, ribs, rice, egg drop soup and the desserts were fine. If you're looking for a Asian buffet, don't count this out. Now ambiance... you can probably tell that back when this place was new it was very nice. It's sad when a nice place is not maintained. I think if they give this place a good scrub and fix the cosmetic issues with the walls and ceiling it would be back to it's former grandeur and would attract more people consistently. We were there on a rainy Sunday and we didn't have to wait service for drinks and cleaning our plates was fast. Every one was nice. The Koi in the entrance pond looked healthy. My family and I used to come here often pre-pandemic and we haven't been back since. Be prepared to pay upfront. The host didn't even recognize us at all for a previously frequent customer. And the way they asked if you're having soda versus what beverage you are having with your meal because you have to pay upfront upon entering left a bad taste in my mouth. The food was okay. Low keep wanted chinese but had a taste for so many things a buffet made more sense. I don't like buffets often because the concept is a lil scary, open food and spoons touched by so many people...alright enough of that lol. When I came in I noticed everyone busy with smiles on there faces. It was very clean and nice. The servers were pleasant which is always great. The food options were superb! I didn't take a pic of my plate but it was piled I promise. Everything I ate was delicious. The only I didn't enjoy was the wonton because it was a little too much ginger for my liking. As I got my food I noticed them quickly replenishing food that was low and cleaning the food stations. They did the same with our drink refills. The food that was at BOTH the $7 restaurant (Far East Buffet) and here at Imperial Buffet it was only slightly better. Imperial Buffet had more selection but didn't have the Stuffed Mushrooms, Stuffed Mussels, and Mei fun noodles in which Far East Buffet did have. OBVIOUSLY there's many things here that Far East Buffet didn't have but it's HALF the price there. I can only expect MORE from Imperial Buffet being more expensive. Staff was fine, friendly and hard working. They earned the 2 Stars today. But this place needs not more variety but DIFFERENT variety. A lot of the same exact flavors but with only 1 or 2 different components. I remember Imperial Buffet living up to its name and being a lot better than this! The price is way to high, and the service is really bad. for three of us the price was $67.47 REALLY. for styrofoam plates, and plastic forks, and knives, and have to serve myself. The raw bar was not open, and the empty styrofoam plates just sat on the table. Did the waitress think I was going to give her was a 15% or 20% tip for doing much of nothing. As most of the reviews before me have put it, yes it really is that bad. My family and I had a decent time here. The food was okay but pretty mediocre, especially when we're all paying upwards to $16 a plate. Most of the meals were cold and tasted a little stale. Some things just didn't look right. Some of the foods weren't prepared and ready out front. The sushi/hibachi section didn't look very well lit or pleasant. The overall setting of the place is okay. The koi pond in the front of the restaurant is what makes up for most of it. You can feed the fish for about 25¢. There's tons of seats so this is a good place to bring a big group of people. My main, main issue with the place was my experience with the waitress and the restaurant's discount policy. First of all, the restaurant mandates that your party is out within a two hour limit. We were given our checks about an hour and a half in - mind you, no one has slowed down or finished eating by then so we felt kind of rushed. Additionally with my family, 4 people should have been eligible for senior discounts since they were over the age of 64. Nevertheless, none of us were. Why? The Imperial Buffet mandates their customers to be AMERICAN CITIZENS over the age of 66, to be eligible for their senior price. We have tried to persuade the waitress that the family members with us were obviously over 66. She said "Okay, I would like to see some sort of proof that you are American Citizens." Okay, seriously? It's not like we could've showed her our license because they don't indicate that we are citizens. She basically wanted to see our US passports or birth certificates as evidence. Now my next question for you is, who would bring their US passport or their birth certificate to a casual Friday night out to eat at a mediocre Chinese restaurant? Went recently with my friend and my boyfriend. Inside is super cool and they have two massive koi ponds and I just stared at the fish for like 10 minutes (cause their so freaking cute). We were seated and the waiter was very quiet I could nearly hear her. The buffet area is really small and the food is not the best. We came around lunch time (2:00pm) and the food seemed stale and a bit cold. The sushi area wasn't even open and I was really disappointed about that. The whole restaurant was dead quiet, and huge too so everything echoed. It was really awkward talking because I felt like everyone around could hear us. I wouldn't come back. Thank goodness this place had a chef in the back making sushi and hibachi to order because if they only had the buffet trough options this would have been a one star review. The made to order steak, onion, peppers, and udon noodles dish was hot, tasty, and highly edible. The avocado sushi roll was excellent! If you come here take advantage of having food made fresh. My wife had seafood hibachi and loved it. The steamer trays we're not very good. Sesame chicken tasted like sugar ball chicken (I'm not sure any chicken was actually in the deep fried sugar breading). The egg drop soup was dishwatery. The fresh fruit was good! Imperial Buffet has been one of those places I wanted to try as I frequent the plaza it's in often to pickup art and craft supplies. The food was mediocre at best and not really fresh, the only thing that was actually fresh was the sushi but that was about it. The jello was pretty stiff and difficult to chew but I managed to eat it because I didn't want to get whacked with a $10 surcharge for wasting food. Also the melon wasn't ripe either and was very bitter, but I still choked it down to avoid a surcharge. Will I return? Probably not. Would I bring a date here?
