My new favorite Thai restaurant! The restaurant has a pleasant laid-back feel and amazing food! I ordered the wonton soup to start out. This is not a normal wonton. There were 3-4 mini wontons in a pleasant broth that had bok choi, onions, and carrots. My main dish was the yellow curry with chicken at a 3 spice level. The rice was perfect and the yellow curry was so rich with the coconut milk that included potatoes and carrots. It was simply amazing! I love spice and I would probably kick it up to a four next time just to get that heat going. This was a very nice meal and the service was quite attentive as my water glass was never empty. Fast service without the slightest hint of a need to rush as a diner. I look forward to a return trip soon! read more

This is my #1 Thai restaurant now! It seems rare to find a Thai restaurant with lunch specials around the Villa rica/douglasville area. Thankfully this place is right next to my job. This is my second time eating here and I was happy with the food still. Every dish I've had so far has been delicious. When I ate at the restaurant it was very laid back and clean. With interest piqued by Yelp reviews, Imperial Palace was on my 'must try' list. In our estimation, the restaurant falls short of the Thai place down the road, and garners 3.5 stars. I thought BBQ ribs would be reminiscent of what we'd get in NY Chinese restaurants. My mistake. Overly saucy, somewhat fatty .... (Guess what leftovers my husband gets for dinner tomorrow night!) Pad see ew which we ordered with tofu, was fair. Bean curd was crisp (which is good) but bland. Noodles needed a dose of soy sauce and a sprinkling of sprouts. Tangy chicken was well received, even with its gummy sauce. Lastly, Imperial Palace's green curry was delicious. However... the beef was tough. A word about service: they need to step it up. Not once did anyone come by to fill our water glasses or inquire about the food. The owner asked if we need boxes, while we were still eating. "Yes, but not yet." Nonetheless, containers arrived on our already crowded table. As did the check. (They weren't closing for another forty five minutes and there were other customers enjoying their meals.) I wouldn't deter anyone from going to this family-owned business. Imperial Palace isn't bad, and their presentation -- if that means something -- is appealing. Wow! I'm a little upset that I didn't know this place was Thai. From the sign, it just says Imperial Palace so I've always assumed it was Chinese food since it reminds me of Emperor and Empress from Chinese Dynasties. I've been on a hunt for great Thai food! I've tried a few spots in the area and no one seem to compete with the good thai iced teas I've had or thai iced coffees in LA. They would make the Pad Thai way too sweet, but this place makes it just right! Their servings are HUGE. I tried their pork spare ribs and I ate it in two days for two different meals just because there's so much! It falls off the bone, too! Their menu has a lot more options than the other Thai places in the area. The service was fast and the servers are really kind! It's definitely a hidden gem. read more

We love this place! We have been twice recently for lunch. So tasty! Great and friendly service and just the right spice. This hidden gem in Hiram is worth the drive. Lunch special prices and serving sizes are excellent. Regular menu prices are a bit higher, but we have tried a lot and like it all! The nam sod was well flavored. The pad Thai was excellent. I had the sweet and sour with pineapple on our last visit and enjoyed every bite. My boyfriend got the spicy eggplant and loved it. The only thing that was so so was the house noodle soup which was a bit on the bland side. We have also had basil chicken, ginger and mushroom (delish). read more

Love, love, love this place. I lived in Dallas, GA for 2 years and I carried out lunch or dinner at least once per week from Imperial Palace. I'm a big fan of soups and rice dishes plus I love their appetizers. I used to buy a pot of their vegetable soup during the winter but their Tom Yum, Wonton, Chicken Noodle, etc. are all really good and warm the soul! The spring rolls, spicy wontons, crab rangoon, coconut shrimp, and dumplings are all equally good. And they have the best fried rice anywhere! I always ordered the shrimp and chicken fried rice because it was the best of both worlds! As for main dishes, I love Garlic Green Bean, Cashew Nut, Sweet and Sour, Brocolli, and Mixed Vegetables. I just moved back to the area a few months ago but it's more of a drive now to go there. I still plan to visit though and pick up some of my favorites to bring home! The portions are generous and there's always enough for two or to have leftovers. I promise you won't be disappointed! read more

Rice noodle dish with broccoli and carrots. Did not disappoint. If you bring kids, the children's menu is limited. The table next to me ordered chicken fingers, and found out they were out of fries. Nope. I visited this restaurant on or about March 17, 2024. I had been passing this restaurant numerous of times and wanted to try it out. I have not found a decent Asian restaurant in Hiram, GA and have been here for over 3 years. I am somewhat familiar with Thai food. Yes, this is allegedly a Thai restaurant but there is no indication in the name. I ordered the spicy fried rice. I think that if a restaurant can do fried rice which is a basic dish, they can do other great things. I also ordered spring rolls. This is what I received... steamed rice with vegetables with chicken for $15.00. Now, the person who took my order did tell me that the spicy fried rice was not spicy (why is the word "spicy" in the name of the dish???? ) And, she was right about that. This dish should be name bland rice with vegetables. No flavoring whatsoever. I could have made this myself with instant rice and vegetable. In face, I redid the dish after the rice was a day old for real fried rice with seasonings. The spring rolls were just as disappointing and tasteless and the fried rice. The dipping sauce was good. The staff was friendly. That is the only reason for the two stars. I do not recommend. I will not return. read more

Our family ordered from here for the first time tonight. We were so excited because of the great reviews, and we are going to Thailand soon and wanted to eat at a great Thai place! Unfortunately, when my husband brought our takeout bags in the house, the food we ordered for our son was missing. So, we called back to the restaurant and they asked if we desired to return for that part of our order. We arranged for us to come and pick up the missing food tomorrow. However, after the THIRD call back from Imperial Palace questioning if we were sure we didn't have the food or if we're certain that it didn't fall out of the tied/knotted bags AND telling us they're sure they put it in the bag, we were done. We didn't even want the almost $70 worth of OK food we ordered any more. It is beyond frustrating to have your integrity questioned after they got our order wrong and after spending so much money at this establishment. Needless to say, we told them to keep the food and that we will never return again. We have absolutely no reason to lie about one entree when we ordered multiple dishes. They should have thought about the long game and kept a potential return customer happy. read more

Not sure how I missed this place on Yelp before but I'm glad my partner found it. We wanted something different and Thai is definitely something we don't eat often in this area. I can say that probably has to do more with how picky my partner and I can be about our Thai food. We've been spoiled living in the city for years and having a lot of excellent Thai food choices. First, there is plenty of free parking. They do take takeout orders and it seemed like they were pretty busy just with takeout alone. All but 2 small tables were occupied when we arrived. We ordered crab rangoon as an appetizer. The sauce was sweet and fruity. I really enjoyed them. We shared dinner entrees or chicken pad Thai and chicken massaman. Both dishes were good but I preferred the massaman as did my partner. The Pad Thai was good but the creamy deliciousness of the massaman was just superior. My partner was slightly confused why there was no avocado in the massaman but he quickly got over it. Overall we were pleased with the meals. We left very full and will be back. read more

I know my Thai food and I happen to find this little Gem that happens to be near my house. Those who love Thai food and already aware of places like Siam Square , Little Bangkok, Thaicoon and Thai Cabin, I kid you not this place is up there with them. Service is A+ and food flavor is simple one of the best. I had the Basil Chicken ( Thai Hot) and it came with spring roll, soup ( Tom Yum Gai) , and the entree with side of rice. Spot on. This is the best Thai food I have found since moving to Georgia. I stop by anytime I am in the area. The staff are always friendly, the food comes out relatively fast and super fresh, and the portion sizes are generous. The place feels very hole in the wall, and is nice and quiet. Great place to go on a rainy day. My favorite meal is by far the Panang Curry with chicken. Have also enjoyed their noodle dishes, appetizers, and other curries. Was in the area so thought I would give this place a try instead of our go to which is Bangkok Cabin (original one). The drunken noodle was good along with the Tom Yum and Tom Kai soups. The Pad Thai did not have much flavor, very bland. Likely won't go back since we typically order at least 2 pad Thais between us and the kids. read more

They are under new management and reopened about 3 or 4 weeks ago. We have gotten take out 3 times since then. The new management have really improved everything. They all wear masks and gloves. They provide hand santitizer and menus on a small table out front. They also will bring it to you car, just call and tell them what car you are in. The new menu is superb. They have added so many new items. We have had the fried calamari, the coconut shrimp, fresh rolls, thai spring rolls, beef noodle soup, paid Thai, spicy noodles, and the seafood fried rice. All items were delicious and in very generous portions. They even have Thai iced tea which is great! We are hooked. They also have lunch specials Tuesday through Friday 11am to 3pm for $8.99. This was the third time I've been here and was sure I'd already done a review, but somehow forgot. So here goes (a little late). Today's visit was at lunch time, and the lunch specials include soup and a spring roll. I chose the coconut chicken soup while my husband had the wonton. I loved mine and he was a little disappointed to get only one wonton, but it made up for it with surprise veggies. The spring roll was perfect. I got the pad see ew, one of my favorite Thai dishes, and they sure do get it right. The perfect amount of sweetness, balanced by the smoky char on the meat and veggies. The attention to detail with the colorful veggie garnish and the cute shape on the carrots takes it up a notch for presentation. My husband got his favorite, the yellow curry. This time he ordered it with no spice, having learned last time that a little spice was too hot for him. He went with the steamed rice that comes with it - last time he ordered a side of sticky rice, one of his favorite things to get at Thai restaurants. If you come at dinner time they bring the Thai version of chips and salsa to your table when you are seated - crispy rice crackers with peanut sauce for dipping. So good! You have to try the pineapple fried rice - it can't be beat. It comes served over the pineapple half that they took the fresh pineapple from. The dish has just a hint of curry, enough to give it flavor, but doesn't really taste like a curry dish. It is the best mix of sweet and savory. read more

This place is my spot. But, as always, I'll be honest. Here are the highs & lows: Highs--Delicious curry! No, like really good curry. I don't think I've ever had curry this good. What kinda curry? All of it! The red, yellow, green, and Massaman curry is incredible! So, we go for the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff. They usually always have a place to sit and it's a great location to grab lunch throughout the week. Lows--I must be honest, the wait will vary. Sometimes it's a quick wait for seating or delivery. Sometimes it's longer. They might answer the phone for carry out and sometimes it takes a while for them to pick up. Here's the deal-- This place is owned and ran by a sweet family that operates everything themselves. So, yeah, it's not served timely as other places but the quality makes up for it. Quick story-- our friends invited us here for dinner. It was a busy Friday night and we were enjoying ourselves until we were interrupted by this older lady screaming at the host behind the counter. She was being very demeaning to the server because the Hiram resident wasn't satisfied with the service. I eventually intervened and told the lady behind the counter that she was doing a wonderful job and there were many of us but not many of them. I sat back down and we enjoyed our delicious meal. The server was appreciative that many of the guest were pleased with their experience. Moral of the story--Be kind. People shouldn't act entitled and be belittling to another person. That's not okay. I don't know why it has taken me so long to update this review. This place is open and quite possibly one of the best Thai places in the area! I have pretty much had everything on their menu and have never had anything that didn't taste amazing! Yesterday was an off day for them. I work in supply chain so I did not take off one star because they didn't have chicken dumplings or the regular Thai tea cups even though they charged REGULAR price. I ordered vegetable dumplings because they didn't have chicken and when I got in the car and took a bite they were cold like they had just been taken out of the fridge and they threw some Chilli sprinkles on top. When I took it back the lady at the front told me I could put them in the microwave- yea you heard that right like my microwave at home!
