This owner is a crook and liar. I went to him to replace my battery and the car stopped working in the middle of the road. I missed work and I was stranded on the street until I got the car towed and had to get a rental car. When he looked at it, he blamed me for the problem and said that my car was old. However, he should have known what battery to replace. He also charged me for two batteries. When I to,d him that I missed work because of his mistake he said well we're both out of money in an arrogant way. My car died two months after that experience. The electricity in the car never worked right and I had to get a new car. He's a moron and not worth one penny of your money. I don't have confidence in his abilities. These words are harsh but true. He never took accountability for his mistakes and he charged me for it as well. This behavior is not something that should be tolerated by anyone. Ever since I purchased my BMW, I've felt the oil drain plug didn't feel quite right on each oil change. This last oil change, i noticed the cause to be a stripped oil pan. I tried an oversized plug with no luck. I called around Monday needing the car to be done by Wednesday, and was turned down by most shops to rethread the pan. I called these guys and although they were busy, they agreed to try and get it done by then. I dropped it off Tuesday and Wednesday morning it was all fixed using a timesert! I'm very happy I did not need to replace the whole oil pan. On top of that, they were able to save the new oil, which was fairly expensive as I used Liquimoly oil and their additive. Sent wife to get smog done on 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ we had been fixing up for years. She was happy I finally finished it. Apparently the catalytic converter I purchase years ago did not have an EO number on it. Easily noticeable upon visual which should be step one. Technician continued to test entire vehicle which passed by the way as far as emissions were concerned and then failed and charged her for the test for a rule that probably wasn't around when parts were purchased. I came across Import Auto Clinic after someone admiring my 63 Beetle in a parking lot suggested I give Filip visit when ever I need mechanical work done. Although I do most of the work on my car myself, my old VW developed a bad oil leak that I didn't have the tools to fix myself. Remembering the suggestion, I took the car by IAC for Filip to take a look at it. Filip estimated what the repair would be and said he could fix it for around $300. However, Filip (I think recognizing I am a college student with not a ton of excess funds) offered to save me money by having me taking the engine out at home and just bringing him the engine so he could repair the leak. I really appreciated this gesture. Long story short, overall I am please with my experience at IAC. Filip seems to be a honest and straight forward mechanic and the repair time was acceptable. The labor rate of 96/hr seems a little high to me, but that is what most mechanics in the area charge. Also, it is good to know there is a mechanic in the Conejo Valley that knows and works on Air-Cooled VW engines. read more

Their shop was clean and orderly, they went over everything they would do as part of the service, and completed the work professionally and on time. When I picked up the car, Filip went over everything they had done, explained when I would need other services, such as brake and tire replacements, and made several recommendations related to vehicle maintenance. Their services fully met or exceeded the manufacturer's recommendations, and they did it for significantly less than the dealer quoted for the same service. I had a very unique problem that I needed guidance and recommendations on whether to repair or sell my Mercedes. The body and interior were in perfect condition, however, the engine needed replacing. After researching where to go to service my VW, I went with IAC instead of the "stealership". Filip let me know that he was busy that night, but if I wanted to drop the car off, he would look at it in the morning. 10am the next day, he called with the news and what it would be to fix. He was straight up with pricing, what was wrong, and what else could be fixed. He ended up being $700 cheaper than what Neftin VW said it would cost to fix. Filip was very informative as to what things could of caused my vehicle not to pass the CA smog test. He recommended that we replace the o2 sensor on my exhaust manifold. Great job Mike !! My 2001 Eurovan with 208,000 miles drives like it did at 20,000. I have a 2001 and 2002 Eurovan both with around 200,000 miles and notoriously difficult to work on. I've been taking them to another TO auto center who was very good, but more expensive. Thinking the timing chain tensioner went and that I would need a new engine, I wanted some place that did good work but was a little more price competitive. Turns out I only needed to have the heads rebuilt (a piece of plastic from an intake solenoid wedged a valve open). Also replaced all of the old, hard to get to stuff while the engine was out. Filip and Mike are the kind of guys that like doing a good job. If you just want it fixed they'll get it done. If you want to know the details of what was wrong, or what else to fix while your there, or what to leave alone; they're there for that as well. The only downside is that since they are a small shop that is so well liked they can be busy. It did take just over two weeks to get all of the work done, about three days longer than I would have expected. read more

When I lived in Oak Park, I always brought my 1995 BMW 525 and 1997 Acura SLX to Import Auto Clinic. They did a good job and the price was reasonable. Like another reviewer said, they are a small shop but I never had to wait that long for the repairs to be done. They would drive me back to my home and I could use the other car. It has been 6 years since I lived in Oak Park, but having found no good mechanics in Los Angeles, I am seriously considering bringing my 2001 X5 to Filip, the 1997 Acura too is still around. My car has gone here from day 1. 2002 vw gti 1.8t Originally brought it to Felipe before purchasing it and he recommended i give the car back. After telling me numerous things that were wrong with it i decided to keep the thing since it did have a warranty. I have taken my car here numerous of times anywhere from clutch, water pump, electrical, fuel relay, list just goes on and on. Long story short Ive never left there thinking i got the bad end of a deal. EVERYTIME I leaving there the car feels like it just rolled out the factory all over again!!!! I purchased the car with 90000 miles on it and in the short 3 years of having the car Ive doubled that so now at 185000ish. My most recent visit ended up having to just replace 2 sensors which was fairly expensive dang GERMAN parts.
