Within the past month I had the opportunity to stop by and utilize this auto centers services because another local shop hadn't done a job correctly, and I thought I would try here. The first two times the issues were very minor and they helped me even though I was not a customer. So, when my Mazda CX-5 needed its 70,000 mile service before my trip to Idaho, I decided to switch shops. They took my car in at the appointment time, and sent me a detailed estimate and explained all my options. They even suggested that I wait on certain repairs until my return which kept my bill affordable. I really like the way I am treated here, and feel very comfortable speaking with them about the recommended services and costs. Great experience! They were able to do a repair that stopped excessive use of engine oil that my regular mechanic didn't have experience doing. The best thing about this place is the sheer level of data and reporting they provide back to you. Getting an oil change also includes a really thorough inspection and you get a list of things to sort out ASAP, things that can be done in time and everything that is OK. Biggest RIP OFF ive ever experienced!!! You bring your car in to get one thing fixed and they give you a huge laundry list of things that are wrong with your car!!! And to get you all worried they put a bunch of them in a category labeled needs immediate repair and they put it in the color red to get you all freaked out so you spend your money fixing things that don't even need fixing at that time!!! They told me I need front brakes and rotors they were going to charge me almost $800 I told them no forget it I'm not doing that I'm bringing my car to tireman to have them check the brakes!!!! I bring my car to TIREMAN and they said my brakes are good for another 5000 miles and the rotors are fine!! these people are horrible! They aren't lying they do tell you that you are due for repairs but it's way way premature!!! read more

Wonderful, family-run auto shop with fair prices and detailed service. They give a detailed inspection of the entire car, complete with photos/videos, an explanation of what is going on, and then rate it based on what is most urgent to be fixed. All of this can be accessed digitally for convenience. Everyone I have spoken to is very knowledgeable but have no problem taking the time to explain details in layman's terms. I have never felt pushed to purchase things I didn't need (which happens SO OFTEN at other places). In fact, the team has gone out of there way to help cut costs, working with me to figure out what issues need the most attention first, and even having me check in with my previous shop about warrantee coverage from previous work to save me money. I had my oil changed and tires rotated for $70+. And they gave me the following recommendations that needed to be done Immediately...but I got second opinions as follows: Rear brakes Just so you know, I got a second opinion on my rear brakes and they are at 3mm, NOT 1mm!! Therefore I do not need brakes! I am appalled that your car report wanted to charge me $575 for something I did not need. Your technician should be ashamed! I am not a stupid old lady! I also got 4 brand new tires for $370...NOT the $558 you wanted to charge me!! I will definitely be rethinking ever using your services again. read more

This place was a godsend! My car had a broken serpentine belt and this place gave me the cheapest quote out of all thd other auto repair shops in TO. They even offered to give me a free car inspection, and took a thorough look at everything. They emailed me with all the maintenance the car needed, which was a bit overwhelming but they assured me that they were all normal things a used car needs maintenance for. I highly recommend! I took my Chrysler Pacifica in due to severe engine issues. They diagnosed the issue right away, but they also let me know that they have been seeing the same issue with other Chrysler Pacificas and this was due to the engine's design. They recommended that I contact Chrysler directly. I say this because they didn't have to tell me this; they could have just told me the issue and repaired it. Nothing like trying to start your car and it's clicking back at you in lieu of turning over. AAA to the rescue for a jump start at 7am. Who doesn't just love getting jumped in the morning lol Well my AAA battery boy arrives with a smile, cables and electric prongs to get after my morning jump he says relax it will only take a minute no worries I'm good jump away. Bada bing bada boom my car is purring. But my battery is drained he tells me to hit up his boys at Preferred Auto Centre and they will do me UP right... Who am I too argue I love being done up right who doesn't. Now it's happy Humpday. First I wake up to getting jumped and now I'm about to be done up right... OMG there is a god afterall. If I could give 6 stars I would!!!! I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler that had two issues since July 2019. I had taken it to a dealership multiple items and the issues never got resolved. I had read a post on Next Door about people suggesting Preferred Auto Center in Thousand Oaks. I meet with Mark the owner and after test driving it a few times he suggesting a few parts that could cause the car to perform that way. He highly suggested replace a certain part first and see if that would fix the issues. I picked up my car three weeks ago and it is running the best it has in a long time. Honest professional people who try to fix your car in a very affordable way. My Ford dealer in TO said it's a broken axle. It turns out to be the hardware on the brakes that the dealer forgot to put on after fixing the rear brakes. They send me pictures to show what is going on. They said take it back to them since it must be under warranty. The Ford dealer in TO never called me. I have to ask for their manager to get their attention. Highly recommend Preferred Auto Center. Requested an online quote for changing the rear brake pads on my subaru, just that, nothing else. Simple, right? Even though the make of my car is one they admit to specializing in on their website, they do not know how long it will take to just replace the rear pads, nothing else. Nor they do not know how much they will charge for labor. Nor do they know how much they will charge for the pads. Because the answer I received was I had to make an appointment, to bring the car in for inspection, so I could get an "accurate" estimate. Really?!? You can't tell me via email how long it takes to change brake pads, what your hourly labor rate is, and how much you are charging me for the pads?! I understand there can be a lot of issues with the braking system that can affect the price, but I am just looking at that one aspect for now. If the business doesn't understand that, or can't put a simple disclaimer such as, "assuming nothing else needs attention" at the end of their quote then that is a big red flag for me personally. read more

I woke up in the am and my car would not start. Had a local mechanic diagnose and determined the computer was bad. Put new computer in and still no start. Preferred took on my car right away. They stated the problem was difficult, but doable. They never gave up and fixed it beautifully!! The price was competitive and all people I encountered were just great. I then asked about replacing the lic plate bulb (at last shop, I was told to replace it would require the technician to take the back apart...)....turns out, this was bs.
