When you first walk in, the ambiance is clean, welcoming and uplifting. I couldn't help but notice the awesome encouraging messages on the walls that just add to how the service and the professional approach make you feel. Every time I come, I feel like I am heard and leave feeling like I got the look and style that I wanted. The first time Kelly did my hair, it was a color correction, as the previous salon and my home endeavors to try to fix it we're NOT working. Kelly did an amazing Job turning my orange, dry hair into something you see in a glossy fashion magazine. This time, I came in for a root touch up and bangs. Not only did I get excellent service, an awesome new look, and some self care, I also got a huge smile that will last me until the next time I get Kelly to style my hair. In addition, since I got bangs, Kelly even shared tips and tricks on how to upkeep and care for them, so that I didn't have to drive from Laurel (yes, the trip is worth it) to get them trimmed. I came to this salon after going to almost every other salon in the area and not getting what I was asking for. For starters, they gave me an awesome scalp massage. Everyone there was so nice. The girl who I saw was amazing. She actually did exactly what I asked for, which nobody else could seem to understand. I showed her a picture of the color and cut that I wanted. Another place I went told me that it wasn't even possible for my hair to look like the picture. But this girl took her time and did exactly what I wanted. It looked just like the picture. My hair has never looked better. And even better, they didn't charge me nearly as much as some of the other places I went. I will DEFINITELY be returning! Happy customer here. I have gone to many hairstylist in my life. I have to say Kelly at Impressions is absolutely the best! The first time I went to Kelly I was feeling very down on my hair-it was dry and thinning and I just could not find a stylist that knew how to style my hair. By the time Kelly was done, I felt like a million bucks! I can not say enough about how talented she is as a stylist!! She knew exactly how to cut and style my hair with the perfect cut !! I encouraged my daughter to go to Kelly as well. She has very thick, long hair. Kelly gave her such a beautiful hairstyle. Now my daughter will only go to Kelly and she lives 3 hours away!! I have been going to Impressions over over 15 years for my color and cuts, even though I live over 30 minutes away. I almost exclusively see Kelly. She has a unique eye for color combinations and always has fantastic advice when I am looking for something new. The new location is beautiful and I have always received the best customer service. Kelly has worked me in to her busy schedule multiple times, even when I call at the last minute! I have never had an issue with waiting for services. My mother, sister, and I will likely never change salons given the service and superb hair care we receive at Impressions, and we continue to refer our friends and family to Kelly in particular. I have been going to see Kelly at Impressions for over 13 years and I can't imagine going anywhere else!!! Kelly is an absolute genius! I feel like my requests are truly heard and every time I leave the salon, I am pleased and impressed with the cut and/or color. The prices are reasonable and scheduling is flexible. I can't say enough good things about Impressions Hair Studio. It is so hard to find a good salon and a good stylist. Rebecca has been my stylist for years even before Impressions. When she started working at Impressions without question I followed her....... YES, She is just that good. The Salon is beautiful and the staff there is beyond talented, well-educated & very knowledgeable. I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment and there has never been a time where I have left the salon and not had someone compliment me or ask where I get my hair done. A great salon! Every time I've been, I'm seated right away, which I always look for in any place I'm visiting. They do great work and don't take all day, either. I change my hair color a lot, and pretty drastically I might add, and have never had a problem (or been given any grief) during the transition. Their stylists have done numerous ombres on me and I have NEVER once had any issues. I have recommended this salon to just about all of my friends and family, and they are now returning customers as well :) They have a nice, quiet, calming atmosphere - perfect for enjoying a nice day at the salon. I moved to Ellicott City from out of state in April. I had someone doing my hair for years and was very hesitant to start with someone new. I even went back while visiting and got my hair cut at my prior salon in CT after we moved. I knew I had to find someplace local though and met someone who had been with Sarah at Impressions for years. Her hair looked great so I gave it a shot. Sarah was awesome! The facility was clean - they took me on time and even though I didn't have it they gave me a coupon for a first time hair cut! I love this salon and my stylist Kelly. I had been driving all the way to Bowie to get my hair cut and colored (which was an hour drive away) when I came across Impressions Hair Studio 15 minutes from my house. My appointment was with Kelly, who has been with the studio since the beginning. She did a fantastic job and I have been seeing her now for about five years. All of the stylists are amazing and get along like family. The younger girls that do the hair washing are great too as they are trained to do scalp massages. Been here many times and felt very welcomed! Always the best experience I've ever had in any salon, now my whole family goes there! Seeing all the negative posts about impressions and the girls there is awful, and to keep into consideration all of those pics I'm seeing of "bad hair" does not even take place in impressions who's to say that something else wasn't put on to "further damage said persons hair" at a different salon. Those with negative comments will go unnamed but I find impressions a nice high end salon with very talented women there. read more

I've been going to Impressions for years. The staff is awesome. I can not imagine getting my hair done any where else. As a matter of fact I made the mistake of getting a "quick trim" at the mall and ended up leaving almost in tears. Thank goodness Sue was able to correct the horrible cut. My only issue... $$$$. Started going to Impressions a few years ago when I noticed that my daughter-in-law and her cousin always have great-looking hair. Found out they go to Kelly Ries at Impressions. What I like is that she is able to deliver a lot of style even with simple cuts. She also really listens to your wants and needs. She is very patient, friendly, and talented. I started going to Impressions because another salon told me I couldn't go blonde after going red. No explanation why, they just wouldn't do it. I went to 2 other salons and they turned my hair green and other colors. I walked into Impressions and Kelly did the the color correction and I walked out with beautiful blonde hair. 14 years later, I still see Kelly. I got my hair balayaged/bleached last summer by Julie, who is so nice and sweet. She is very much experienced and since I have black hair, she explained the whole process thoroughly. She also gave me options and communicated with me very well. I still go to her today and am so lucky to have her as my hair colorist.
