Who knew live entertainment was happening every weekend in downtown Libertyville? I love this place, and the shows are different every time.

Staff are great and I pass the greeter a $5 for a front row seat at the stage. 2 item minimum and validated parking makes for an affordable evening. Easy online ordering with prices showing the total with all fees and tax. Easy check in with your name at the front desk, no tickets issued. Have never had anything but Coke and mixed nuts. They certainly keep everything spotless but they do keep you packed in like sardines.

And they deliver. We've been here a few times since November of 2025 and I even got to see Kevin Bozeman there (if you haven't caught his act, check him out: https://www.youtube.com/@TheeKevinBozeman). Sure, there's a two ITEM minimum. Get the pretzel and a drink, or two drinks, or whatever, I don't care what you get. You're there to laugh. The servers are attentive and the seating is comfortable (despite being a bit crammed in). The warm ups have been great. They are very interactive with lots of crowd work. They validate your parking and offer you two free passes if you can show them that you follow them on Instagram. So, free parking and free passes. Seems like a great night out to me. And you get to see some awesome comedy. My only detraction is that you're packed in like sardines, so go early and find a place where you won't feel too packed in. And they let you meet the headliners afterward. I love Zanies in Rosemont!

I think if they were a stand alone building, the parking would not be as awful. After you park, they have two lines going into the building. One is general admission and the other is VIP. General admission was on the left and VIP was on the right. They are not labeled. VIP just means that you sit closer to the stage. Seats are like first come first serve. Btw when it is busier, they have people sitting in front of you at each table. They fill each table to the max. In general, I would recommend lining up at least 30-40 mins before the show begins, for better seating. After you sit down, you have to order two items per person. We just ordered two drinks each. It's kind of an asinine rule but I guess that's how they make their money. We ordered food in the past. Ever since then, we just grab food nearby before coming. Food was okay here. The drinks are not bad, the glasses are a good size so you can sip on it throughout the show. Service was good, although it could be better. It took awhile to receive our drinks. Depending on the comedian, you can get a free picture or you have to pay for one. Overall, it's like a 3.5 experience but 5 stars for the comedian. Meh, I'll give it 4 stars.

Parking was in an issue the place is small their stairs but there's also an elevator which I like the fact that it is small because it's more intimate that way and the comedian can actually interact with the audience. We didn't really try the food but there is a two drink minimum or an order of food so we just did two drinks it's a bit pricey so just need to expect that. The service was great the our server was always there checking up on us and asking what we needed so that's also a good thing. Will definitely come back and see more shows here. Happy watching!

The space is big and you never felt claustrophobic despite the fact the place was pretty packed. We appreciated the fact you are seated at a table (at least for this band. I no longer enjoy standing for hours on end at a long rock show!). The bar is reasonably priced - a Lagunita's IPA was $6 or so. They seem to run the venue pretty well - no goony bouncers or shady staff lurking around. Stop in for a show if a band you like is playing here! The Vixen is a great music venue with good sound!

I recently had knee surgery so opted to buy a VIP Table in the balcony so I didn't have to stand all night. I was glad I did because the band played for over 2 hours and there was also a DJ. The venue itself is dated and carpet and furniture upstairs smells musty, like an older bar. However, the view and sound from the balcony were pretty good, and we had our own little dance party upstairs. It is a walk downstairs to use the bathroom, but we appreciated that there was a bar serving drinks upstairs. During a few parts of the concert, it sounded almost like the song started off key, and we kept seeing the vocalist tap his ear, so not sure if there was an audio issue. There is parking nearby, if you arrive early enough to get a closer spot. The employees here were working hard to get everyone inside, despite the long line. Drink service in the balcony was fast. There is no separate entry for VIP. Just one long line and once you get inside are then brought to your ticket area. In all, I would say we waited outside for close to 30 minutes before we got inside for bag and ID check.

Since it is a smaller venue, the staff takes care of seating you when you arrive. The earlier you arrive, the closer to the stage you will be. For the most recent show we attended, we arrived about 30 minutes before the show and were seated to the far right of the stage. But from there we could still see the comedians with no problem. There is a two item drink or food requirement per person. Cocktails run around $15. They also have a variety of appetizers and desserts. The staff is friendly and professional. One of the things I appreciate is the club's no heckling rule. They ask that attendees do not speak to the performers during their set - unless they speak to you first. If you're looking for a fun night out, and a chance to see top notch comedy in a intimate venue, The Comedy Vault is the place for you!

Also, lots of places nearby to grab food & drinks pre or post show, with easy parking options, too! Perhaps my favorite thing about this place is the quick and easy communication - I messed up an order once, picked the wrong day, (my fault), and I emailed them asking if they could fix it - it was an @gmail.com, so I wasn't sure how reliable that was, lol, but they responded quickly, and fixed my error, when they did not really have to. I really appreciated that! When I had questions about our larger group attending a show last weekend, they responded quickly, gave suggestions about good spots to go beforehand, and advice about when to arrive. You can tell its a real place, run by real people, who want to do good business so people return! There is a 2 item minimum for a show, does NOT have to be alcohol, just an FYI.
