at first I thought , What a great place...doing a christmas charity for kids...awesome! but after the management found out I had fraud from one of the employees here stealing my CC info and they did nothing...This place is definitely not the place to go! Great bartenders, atmosphere, and instructors- you don't need anything else from a country bar. Since I'm a shy dancer, I love that the seating area has a second dance floor away from the main floor where regulars actually HELP teach you how to dance if you missed the whole class time. My friends and I went last night. It was free with rsvp online which we all did. They claimed to open at 9:30 online. They started letting people in at 9:45. We were like the 8th group in line. Got to the front at 10:02. They didn't extend the rsvp a couple more minutes. Made us all pay 20$. Didn't complain (not in good taste to complain) and paid the 20$. Never been to a Country Bar before except for this one so I can't really compare. However, Incahoots is pretty fun at times. They play pretty good songs (coming from someone who isn't a big country music fan) that you can easily dance to regardless of being a line dance. It's pretty spacious and has two dance areas. The air ventilation could be improved though. One thing I don't really like is that if you don't know the song/dance you kinda gotta just wait for the next song that you know how to dance to. They do teach dances in the beginning but not to all songs. So you gotta learn as you go. But sometimes there's not enough space to learn and make mistakes. Anyways, remember to wear closed toe shoes and come with an open mind. This is a nice place to go country dancing for your first time. Ample of parking, but it gets crowded on a popular night. read more

Bought tickets for YG with my friends, got there at 9 for doors to open at 9:30 didn't open until almost 10 then listened to a trash DJ who played songs multiple times and couldn't keep it hype. I came here for a friend's birthday party and I seriously did not know what to expect. Country music is by far not my type of music. It's EDM or trance or pop, but I actually had fun here. The music was different, but I think I was way more intrigued with the line dancing because it just so amazing to watch. I think it's pretty crazy with all the different line dancing and how quickly everyone moves. They played some pop country music towards the later end of the night so that was pretty cool. I don't know if they do this every weekend, but I went on a Friday and they had a taco cart in the patio. They served pretty good carne asada, pork, and chicken tacos. I think it was $2 or $3 each. Those actually improved my night since I was not drinking at all. Have no fear coming here. Just come with an open mind to the music, enjoy the "cowboy" gear, and have fun with the atmosphere. read more

If you like country music OR cheap booze OR country dancing OR want to learn to dance....its hard to beat, especially on Tuesdays and Fridays. Very fun and dirt cheap Tuesdays: Good night to learn to dance. Less crowded, cheaper than cheap, $2 cocktails and dollar beers. Crowd is more mature 35+ till 9 or 10pm then it gets a little younger overall. Wednesdays: 18+ Not my night, Pretty crowded Fridays: Best night for people watching, social dancing, finding a date. Free admission and $2 cocktails before 7pm. $5 after 7. The most crowded and the youngest of the 21&over crowds. Dance floor will be a little more hectic than a tuesday but its manageable. Good friday night hang out to have a few drinks and kick off your weekend. They will play hiphop and booty shaking music after 11pm interspersed throughout the country music. Overall, crowd is mellow, good looking, down to earth, and very encouraging with newbies. One of those places the ladies don't have to worry about getting creep freaked as majority of the guys are super respectful. For the guys, most of the ladies are chiller and prettier than your average OC bar or club scene + cutoff jean shorts, boots, and a tied up flannel shirt is the staple outfit ( a good look imo). Been going there for 2-3 years with my wife, its very chill and unpretentious. I hope it stays that way. Tips: - Get there early (6pm) for the 2 free lessons. 1 couples dance, 1 line dance. -Dudes should absolutely learn a simple 2step. Easiest way to meet ladies hands down -Nobody cares if you can't dance. Don't worry that everybody knows all the steps, lines up in a grid, and does them in unison. Its wierd at first but you'll get it. Try to learn just 1 or 2 new dances the first few times. You'll be doing more watching than dancing most likely until you get a handfull of the dances down. Feel free to try them all though, nobody give a $#!+ if you have it all wrong. -When learning the line dances for first times, try to get to middle of floor ( I know its counter intuitive but its actually easier to learn and follow with people on all 4 sides of you as opposed to 1 side where you won't be able to see anybody when the dance calls for you to turn to the outside of the floor.) -If a lady wants to dance couples dance 1) be near the dance floor 2) be standing near the dance floor especially around the entrance/exits to floor. - Watch your space on the dance floor. Try not to bump people too much. It will happen but just be a little mindful and maybe a simple "oops sorry" if you do. Again, people are chill but they will get annoyed if you keep hitting them and don't seem to care. -Dudes, dont' freak out if a guy asks your lady to dance. He's most likely not hitting on her, she probably just looked like she wanted to dance and its considered good etiquiette to ask women near the floor if they'd like to dance. Most guys will ask politely for both of your permisssion and walk her back to her seat with you when the dance is done. You can learn too (most people will show you if you ask) or you can just use it as a 3 minute break to check your emails. read more

Caters to every 18 year old in OC who doesn't have school tomorrow morning. They show up drunk, fall all over you if you are trying to dance, and have no respect for anybody. This place makes a joke out of country music. But hey, all these girls can post their selfies on instagram and #countrygirl, so what do they care? Security rarely removes somebody from the dance floor. This is a major safety issue. These people are either so drunk they can't even tell which direction they should be facing, or they simply don't care. They'll stand in the middle of the dance floor and do whatever they want, which is not only frustrating but also dangerous because I've gotten knocked over and injured several times. People give off a very clique-ey and snooty vibe off the dance floor. Learning a line dance is obviously part of the process, but be courteous. There's so many awful drunks on the floor that nobody is in sync enough to see what to do. And the staff doesn't care .... they don't want to upset their target customers. $12 cover for 18+ or $5 over 21. Expect to wait in a huge line if you come after 9:00 on Sunday or Wednesday. Bathrooms are disgusting. Some decent drink specials. They play all the typical line dance songs but do way more club-type music on the busy country nights. If you are seriously interested in line dancing (or just older than high school) there are much better places to go, learn, and have a much better time. If I could figure out a way to give no stars this would be the place that gets it. Seriously.... This place blows (and not in a hot gay guy kind of way). I took my 21 year old roommate there tonight because someone has to introduce her the gay bars of the world. Might as well be me. Well after tonight I am thinking it might as well NOT be me. This place is gross. The women are sickening. There were one or two hotties but there were more than enough notties to make up for it. Now the cover is only $5 ladies. Here it is, i used to go here when i was 19-20. This was my first club in the OC i've gone to. I usually go down to LA to get hammered and what not. Anyways this place is Terrible. It's located in shopping plaza. Only upside of this place is the fact parking is free. Going here felt like i was going to get myself in trouble cause all the females look under age! This was an 18+ club on a thursday and females that go here look like they were 15 and half! It might be bad gentics or something but damn! I thought Chris Hanson from To catch a predator was going to creep on me out of the dark while dancing with a female and bust my ass. Anyways if you're 18+ and looking for a cheap place to "kick it" i suppose this can do. Best bang for your buck! I've had some of the best of times at this club. The crowd's a riot and they play all your favourite line dances. 21-plus nights are a quiet affair with music at a reasonable volume and a DJ who takes requests and tends toward more of the classics. 18-plus night is like a wild, sweaty, loud college party. They play the newest line dances and the whole club's rocking. So there's something for everyone. Now, I was going to this club for 6 years, give or take, and I'll be the first to admit, I've had my incidents over the years here, but security has always treated me fairly. In fact, I had to stop coming because of some issues, but I'll always have fond memories of the place. I wish InCahoots continued success! read more

I've been going here almost every week for the past couple of months. Never had an issue, the people are always friendly, and the dances are fun. Most people here are below the age of 30, but don't feel discouraged to come if you are above that age. Your first time going here may be a little awkward because you have to know the dances, but most are pretty easy to learn. Once you get the hang of them it becomes much more enjoyable and you get hooked. The music is good, but not every song is country. The Djs are also nice and accept song requests for two step dancing. Overall, this place has a good atmosphere. If you are on the fence about coming, try it out! read more

In my list of uncomfortable things to do in 2010 (that I don't normally do and no, kinky positions do not count), I threw in country line dancing to that list. Pleasantly surprised, the crowd is all ages, fun, nice, and willing to teach. I walked in with friends last friday feeling totally intimidated by the fancy footwork where half of me wanted to run and the other half was captivated at the mix of country line dancing steps possible. I got a kick watching the grandpa twirl the girls around, and lemme tell you...age ain't nothing but a number in his case. The man may have looked like he needed a walker but boy does he have a couple of tricks up his sleeve. I got twirled around and around too, but not by your local urban cowboy, nevertheless Franz was gracious with my awkwardness. The crowd was nice, no snobs, just good clean fun. Looked like a bachelorette and a couple birthdays were going on. I only knew one dance step courtesy of those family parties that always had to have an achy breaky electric slide in the mix. All in all, did I mention that it was all ages and that the guys are hawt? Props to you cowboys who can two-step and twirl a girl without unnecessary grinding. Props to you men who jump in to line dance and look like you're having fun. Props to the guy who danced with me and my friends and worked Lady Gaga's Bad Romance in his own personal choreography. Props to any guy comfortable in their masculinity. And thanks for the free beer, guy I sat next to but can't recall your name. Super fun! It's hard to find a line dancing place in California, so I'm super excited to find this place. We went on a Friday which is a 21+ night. I had never been line dancing before and came too late for lessons, but everyone was so encouraging to noobs like me. There were some really experienced people there, so I just followed along. The only bummer about the night we went was that Cody Johnson was doing a special performance, so it took away from my line dancing time. Don't get me wrong. It was a really good concert, especially for the $5 cover, but I just wanted to line dance and he was killing my vibe. Make sure to check their calendar before you go! read more

Worst bar I've ever been to. Came on a Friday night for a concert and waited 15 minutes to get a drink. Was groped by 3 different men and hit on by men old enough to be my grandfather. Bouncers are utterly useless, even though they witnessed random man grab my butt several times. And no, I was not wearing anything provocative. Oh, and did I mention it's about 90 degrees and humid inside? The alternative is to go outside and breathe in cigarette smoke. I liked the line dancing aspect, but I will definitely stick to going to the Ranch. Okay - I went last night, FRIDAY. It was Country Night -- no broke back moments here(unlike these past reviews). I should have arrived an hour early to learn the steps but I did not, so I lounged around for a couple hours drinking/socializing. But I really wanted to get on the dance floor. This one lady kept pushing me to try and after her persistence, I did. Boy were my soles smoking because I could not stop! Later I learned from her that people are willing to teach you, just ask. The environment was friendly and nobody was mean-mugging anybody. The Bartenders were really nice and remembered my drinks (nice considering it's my first time). They have 2.5 bars around the place, so you'll get drinks in a timely manner. In regards to the DEMOGRAPHICS, just be aware that you are going to a country dance club. It's not about wearing independent shirts or wearing the trendiest D&G. People come here to dance and drink. It's simple and fun. What I would recommend is getting a large group who is willing to try something different, go to the initial dance lesson and prepare to get your "twang" on. read more

I'm not sure if it was the group of people I went with or just the place itself, but my one experience at In Cahoot's is also probably going to be my last. I don't know about it being a gay club, or country music because it seemed like a regular 18+ club to me; Asian scene, I might add. I went on the President's Holiday weekend, and did not have fun at all :( We stood in line waiting to get in for the longest time - they started letting people in like, half an hour after doors were supposed to open. After we finally got in it reminded me vaguely of a old school roller rink, and sort of smelled like a bowling alley. I'll give it a bit of credit though. I thought it was pretty cool how there were rails around the dance floor for you to hang around on and whatnot. A handy place to keep your phone too, if you didn't bring a purse along :) You can just dance by the rail to make sure your stuff doesn't get jacked. Music was okay - not that great. There was a short period of time when the DJ tried playing techno, and it was so whack. I love trance, but that was totally the wrong atmosphereee. The lights are pretty cool - if you dance near the center of the stage you get a spotlight on you. Oh yeah, and Jeri Lee was gogo-ing that night. Hooray! That's always a plus :) read more

Just $5 cover and really all the fun and joy anyone can have in line dancing with really really attractive young people. This ain't like the midwest. Who woulda thought OC youngns' would be soo into this stuff. They have a delicious Taco Stand and affordable beer. They also have this bull you can ride for free. They love girls to ride the bull. Unlike other country dancing spots, the young fellas here are not so eager to ask a lady to dance unless they already know her in his circle. Eye candy none the less. Never again..I came on Thursday night and had the absolute worst night out with my friends. We came in right when they opened at 10 pm and were worried because there were only about 20 people in line to get in. 11 pm passed and there were still hardly any people! No one was dancing, the DJ was terrible, people just stood around and talked to the people they came in with, and the bar closed down early. Need I say more? Shark Club is much better and has not yet failed to give me a positive and memorable night out with my girls. read more

Overall Rating: 1.5 I've come to InCahoots THREE TIMES and I have yet to have a positive experience. I'm pretty open-minded, and while country dancing isn't really my forte, I was willing to give this place a shot and at least learn a few line dances in the process. At the very least, I thought I would like dressing up like a cowgirl and prancing around in cowboy boots, but seriously, I shouldn't have even bothered coming once. I should have been tipped off that this place wouldn't be that great since it's in the middle of a shopping center. Who puts a club in between a burlington coat factory and a dialysis center? And while the cover charge is pretty low at $5, even that isn't worth it. The staff here are incredibly rude! I've come in with a positive mindset three times, and every time, I've left really disappointed. The last time that I came here, I felt like one of their promoters (I think her name is Teresa) was going out of her way to make sure that my friends and I didn't have a good time. It almost got to a point where it felt malicious! Anyways, this was my only encounter with line dancing, and I know it wasn't the type of music that made the nights so horrible, but it's going to be a long time before I go to another country club. I was a Tuesday Regular for a solid year. Sadly I can't go anymore now that I've moved to northern California where the real country folk are but this was a great oasis from the city. I loved the staff. Kim the Bartender always remembered me and what I like to drink. It was easy to make friends. The lessons and the woman who teaches them were a lot of fun. I liked the smaller crowd on Tuesdays and the karaoke. Wednesdays are insane because it's 18 and over and there are lots of yougin's getting drunk in the parking lot before going in. It's so crowded you can't really dance. If I'm ever back in the area I'll be sure to stop by and kick up my boots. read more

So far I have been to InCahoots twice. I have to say, out of all the country bars in OC, this place plays the best country music - I even occasionally heard a few of my fav bands from Texas come on which was a great surprise! The first time I came here was for the Aaron Watson concert - he put on a great show but there was like 12 people in the audience. I couldn't believe it. He would have easily sold out a similar venue back in Texas! I kept wondering if there was something the bar could have done to promote the show, the place was dead. The second time we went the place was packed. I have to knock the review down to 3 stars because the crowd was so incredibly young. My husband an I are both around 30 years old and were easily the oldest people in the place. We felt like Chris Hanson from Dateline's "To Catch A Predator" was going to come out and interview us any second. I'm not sure if they have separate nights for 18+ and 21+ but I would definitely recommend going on a 21+ night if its available. Another tip: stick to beer, both my friend and husband ordered mixed drinks throughout the evening and they were either made incorrectly or just didn't taste right. It's pretty hard to mess up a Bud Light though! read more

As good as it will ever get. 21+ and $5 cover will get you through the doors of good old country line dancing. I normally attend on a friday night and it gets pretty crowded, but always a good variety. The music is good. It can get a bit torturous when they play 5 slow country couple dancing type songs in a row. Other than that, they do play some hip hop after about 11ish. Anything before that, you get to dance in a line which isn't too bad because nobody really judges you if you can't keep up. Otherwise, just go and have a drink or two or three. There is an outside smoke area in which you can catch some cool air and not always fresh air. Food is also an option is well. Tacos and hot dogs. Bring a group of friends and make a night out it! why not? read more

I paid $20 to see 2 Chainz (I KNOW STOP JUDGING ME I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUNNY OK) live. Zero drinks and one really weird as hell crowd later, I left at 1:30am because he wasn't there yet. I'm mildly aware this wasn't the venue's fault, but seriously. Get ahold of your acts or don't waste my money. He ended up waltzing in at 1:45am to play all of 10 minutes--so glad I didn't wait the extra 15. Bottle service there was the saddest, most paltry thing I have ever seen. They literally rolled a circular table to the middle of the dance floor and parked it there with a couple of stools. Seriously? I could provide better bottle service in my apartment. Overall, not a happy experience. It is also located far off from the rest of DTF so don't be expecting to easily bar hop when you get tired of this one. read more

We went on a Friday night with 50 people. We knew the place was big so we didn't make a reservation. There happened to be a ton of bdays that night so a lot of the tables were reserved. The staff helped us find the only open tables which happened to be right next to the DJ booth and dance-floor. They gave lessons, which was great, we are all knew. They had happy hour until 9pm. And the DJ announced our group over the system. We have heard war stories about the Ranch and their security so we were a little worried this place would be the same. The ALL of the staff was very friendly!!! We had great time and will definitely be going back! read more

There are only 3 country bars in the area, InCahoots, Brandin Iron, and Montana's (if you're over 21. This place is so much better than the BI. It's less ghetto and has much more of a country vibe. I've been here on Wednesday and Sunday and both nights were good. They play a lot of the popular line dances that most people know which is great if you are just learning. They play some of the harder ones throughout the night which is good if you are more advanced. They also play quite a few two step songs. I've seen many couples do the fancy tricks so I don't think they have strict rules like Montana's, so you you are an excellent two stepper you're in luck, you can show off your moves here! You do have to pay for water so I'll leave it at that. So far I haven't found a drinking fountain. That's my only complaint. read more
