I've been coming to in motion for almost 4 years for my knee and back. The care is very attentive and Garrett is an excellent PT.

The good: - physical therapists are great. knowledgable, easy to work with, great at listening - good facility and equipment - pricing is transparent The bad: - beyond your first appointment, only 20 minutes out of a 1 hour session is spent with a therapist. the rest is spent with an aide, doing exercises that can often be done at home. the aide is also often splitting time between several patients - all offices have gotten rid of administrative staff and have replaced them with a screen where you talk to an overseas worker. this is annoying to deal with and is frustrating seeing ownership do these things to maximize their profit read more

This was my fourth round of PT with this company and was very happy the previous times hence coming back for a fourth round. But things have changed, they have switched to an impersonal check in process by speaking to someone remotely rather than in person. The remote person did not collect my copays on my visits but I figured they would send me a bill. No, that's not what they did. 2 days after my last appointment they thought the more appropriate action would be to have someone named Roseanne call MULTIPLE times in 3 hours. I couldn't understand the stalking over a $240 balance. On the third call in 3 hrs, I told her I would handle this after work. But apparently that was not good enough be because that day they without my permission they charge the balance to a credit card of mine, one I did not give them authorization to hold. The unprofessional behavior by their office staff/collection agent Roseanne and the unauthorized charges on my card has made me change my mind about returning to them after my surgery next month. I love coming to In Motion because of the excellent care I get from the PT's, the aides are attentive, everyone on the Administrative staff are friendly, get to know you so it is a family vibe, and the place is always meticulously clean. I also wanted to mention that you walk into a fun atmosphere which is needed when your not feeling well, this definitely changes my mood and gets me ready to work on my injury. Never once have I felt unsafe with the flu bug that has been plaguing us the last couple of years because I see how the staff cleans everything to protect the next person. I'm very happy to be able to write this review. I'm 57 and had extensive shoulder surgery. In Motion O.C. Is close to work so I booked my first visit three weeks after my surgery. I have to say that while I was not looking forward to going to PT I actually look forward to it now. The whole team is just great. Everyone that works there seems to really care about their patients. I was lucky enough to get Madi as my Physical Therapist along with Andrew her amazing Aid. The care and work they both have given me has kept me motivated to work hard to get back to my old self. My shoulder was so bad before surgery I couldn't sleep through a single night. After surgery I thought I really made a mistake as I was in so much pain with very little use of my arm. Alan is the best pt I have ever had!!! I was having issue even walking but now I can do sports again!

The physical therapy staff are amazing but unfortunately the front desk are not. They could of easily told me from the beginning that I had to wait till I had a card to put on file for payment, which I would have happily waited but per the bank I would expect my new card in the mail by the 30th of march. I communicated that with the front desk and they said that would be fine and of course if I got my card before said date I would provide it. They continued to call text and email me everyday after this for card information. I should have responded yes but we literally just spoke about this situation and had a plan. If there were communication in the office they would have figured out the situation was already taken care. So instead they canceled my appointment. When I told them to cancel all appointments till further notice they sent me confirmation of all canceled appointments with a smiley face. I found that highly disrespectful and unprofessional. read more

I had a great experience working with Matt Hoang for my Achilles injury. He's a very knowledgeable physical therapist that took the time to discuss in detail the best ways for me to rehab. I had a total hip replacement in June 2024 and started physical therapy with Dr. Garet Jay at In Motion OC in July. Over eight months, I saw amazing improvement thanks to his expertise and care. Dr. Garet is professional, kind, and truly passionate about what he does. At 76, with other joint issues, there were times when I couldn't do certain exercises. Dr. Garet was always flexible, adjusting my therapy to help me continue progressing safely. I benefited from his personalized approach. All the staff and assistants are also very nice and warm. I had 2 fractures in my left shoulder in April 2025. My Orthopedic Doc recommended PT with Alan Vogel. I am soooo very happy I had Alan as my PT, he is a master in PT, he is not only immensely experienced, but he is also very caring and personable. To start I was very concerned about the amount of pain I would have to endure to get back to close to my original range of motion. He was careful, but at the same time he was great in helping me go each time beyond my pain threshold, he was very positive and his advice to help me improve on my own as I do my assigned home exercises has been greatly helpful. Alan's level of concern for me as his patient is immeasurable. As he knew I was going to be on a trip for a month he even had one of his assistants video exercises for me to do on my own. This review is for Garrett Jay. The guy did not seem caring at all and when I told him one of the rehab exercises was hurting me, he didn't seem to care. I came in for a mild shoulder injury and the exercises and treatment he gave me led to another more severe injury. He didn't even apologize or really give a damn that his rehab caused even further issues. I really hope he sees this and is more attentive to his clients in the future. I'd recommend going to a smaller practice that prioritizes its patients rather than its numbers. read more

I have been going to In Motion for several years off and on. The first time it was my rotator cuff. This last time it was my hip and knee. I cannot say enough about my experience with Alan. He is knowledgeable, he knows what he is doing and he is concerned about his patients care. This is a long overdue review!! I've been to several Physical Therapy facilities and this is one that tops my list. I see Garrett and he's been taking care of me since my ankle injury (July '24) and now post ankle surgery. Naturally I wanted Garrett to continue being my PT because I'd like to be able to get to full strength again and I know he can get me there. His leadership with his aides is on point and each one from Ian, Kiana, Dylan, Billy and Ken have all been amazing (sorry if I misspelled anyone's names). They know exactly what they're doing and give precise instructions but also care to make sure you're not encountering any pain or doing an exercise wrong. My teenage daughter had a sports injury. Her pediatrician recommended physical therapy. I looked on Yelp and based on the great reviews I decided to give In Motion a try. From beginning to end, the In Motion staff made the process so easy. They took care of all the paperwork for insurance and provided excellent care to my daughter. Their communication is excellent as well. I even got a personal phone call a month into her sessions to follow up on her progress and to make sure she was able to play softball without any pain. I hurt my low back really badly and In Motion OC put me back together in time for me to start a travel nurse contract. Mark Rowley the PT was so kind and on days when I was in a lot of pain he was so sympathetic and readjusted his treatment plan to help me be able to make progress again. His compassion, professionalism, and empathy inspired me to up my game as a nurse, honestly. He got me on my feet again able to get back to work and make money working a very physical job. Cant thank him enough (and his team of assistants!). Marc the masseuse has magic hands, if you need a massage ask for him. And Edgar the personal trainer picked up the baton when I was ready to graduate from physical therapy. He knew exactly how hard he could push me. He has a huge amount of experience getting people back in the gym after a major injury/surgery and there were times when I thought I wasnt going to be better in time or I made backwards progress and he was there to help me keep going. I'll never forget how nice he was when I cried over my mom having to help me put on my shoes and socks because it hurt so much, thanks Edgar for being such a solid dude. He uses years of experience and amazing intuition to work help you get back to living your life. I went from having like 30 back spasms a day and only being able to take small careful steps and not being able to bend over AT ALL to being able to bend over and pick up 30 lb sandbags pain free and push/pull sleds and pick up my nephew again. I was able to start my work contract without cancelling which was a huge relief. If you have a major injury and need to get back on ur feet and back to your life, I would use In Motion OC's physical therapists, masseuses, and their gym's personal trainers. read more

I have been working with InMotion for over 12 months due to a botched hip replacement that has need extensive physical therapy. I am now getting much much better thanks to three day a week care and over 120 sessions. What makes this a great experience is that my therapist, Madison Mounga and her team are fabulous. They are always very positive and enthusiastic to see me and have evolved my sessions as the injury has slowly repaired. I have also had the help of Alan Vogel who shares my sense of humor but is a strict taskmaster. The kind of surgical injury I have takes a long time to repair as the glut muscle was not only cut and damaged but was pulled away from my hip bone. I initially used the physical therapy offered inside hospitals but when we moved from Dallas to Newport Beach we were very lucky to find out about InMotion. They have been first rate and my only recommendation is that a large hospital group specializing in Orthopedic surgeries should immediately acquire them...as they are that good!!! read more

Started coming to this location for a few PT sessions. I worked with Katie Boss and she's great. Very attentive and really asks the right questions to fix your needs. I also got the chance to work with Julia and Brian (both PT aides) and they are both fun to get to know and they really watch how you perform your PT exercises to ensure you are doing it properly. Overall facility is very clean and there's a lot of activity. They have massage package deals, fitness, and aquatic therapy sessions. Highly recommend! A review has been long overdue since I've been here 3 times for different ailments. First two times was for achilles tendonitis and my third time was for a shoulder injury. In Motion successfully was able to get me back to my normal activity for each of my injuries. Not only will In Motion help you get back to your normal activity, they will also teach you how and why your body got injured. After that, they will then teach you preventive strategies to avoid incurring the same injury again. The education alone is well worth it! The staff are amazing. They are on the younger side with high energy! The energy alone is uplifting enough that the sessions don't even feel like work but an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend InMotion OC. I decided to give them a try after an ankle injury that had reoccurring pain for over a year. The pain was debilitating to the point where I stopped being physically active for fear of injuring my ankle again. I had even missed out on last year's snow season after injuring my ankle again on the mountains. Making an appointment was a painless affair. The front desk staff was very friendly and all the paperwork was a breeze. The friendliness didn't stop after the first appointment either, each check-in was done with a happy smile. My DPT, Garrett, is amazing. During my consult, he did a series of tests to assess the issue. He was able to identify the issue immediately and informed me of what was happening. He took time to address all my concerns and answered my questions in a simple patient manner. Once he created my treatment plan, his assistants Alex and Emory worked with me each appointment on the exercises that helped me with my injury. Both Alex and Emory are very friendly and I never felt uncomfortable around them. tl;dr: InMotion OC makes you feel like family.
