Jungle is great. I came to them with about 10 months to help prep me for my August wedding and have been with them since. It's also a great way to kill traffic before heading home. Jon is great. He'll work with you to cater your training needs. He does a great job of explaining the plans. Steve is the trainer that got assigned to me based on my goals and my time availability. He does a good job of giving you workouts, making sure your form is right, keeping you in check, and being very flexible with your schedule. I tell him if I'm training for a half marathon or Spartan race, and he'll cater the workouts to what's needed. The physical gym is great because it's not too busy at certain times, so it's perfect for all backgrounds of training. They also offer massages, cupping, saunas and cold plunges. I've been training at Jungle Fitness for several months, and honestly... I super recommend it! My trainer, Anh, really knows her stuff. She's patient, explains form and technique in a way that actually makes sense, and takes the time to make sure you're doing things right. Because of that, I've gotten noticeably stronger and feel way more confident lifting than I ever have before. I also have to shout out her dynamic cupping therapy... It's been a total game changer and has helped me feel better from the inside out. With my busy schedule, flexibility matters a lot to me, and both Anh and the manager, Steve, have been super accommodating and easy to work with. She's not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also tuned in to how her clients are feeling on any given day. There have been multiple times I've shown up feeling stiff, sore, or just not 100%, and Anh always picks up on it right away. She adjusts the workout plan on the spot--whether that means modifying exercises, focusing more on mobility, or dialing up intensity if I'm feeling good. Her approach is never one-size-fits-all. Anh really listens and makes sure you're getting the most out of each session without overdoing it. It's been almost 3 months since I took a chance, and reached out to Jon via text after stumbling across the Jungle Fitness website. Like most people, I was drawn by the dramatic "transformation" photos. The warm, and seemingly sincere Google and Yelp reviews helped me to feel confident in my decision. Big mistake. I honestly don't really know if Steve or Jon bothered to read my food diary (that they required me to submit for 1 week, in addition to weighing myself every morning for 1 week), or if he just copied and pasted a strict bodybuilding meal plan from the internet. But I made a lot of changes to my diet prior to joining Jungle Fitness, and my diet was mostly "clean." There were plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and healthy fats. I wasn't eating processed food, a lot of added sugar, or red meat. So, I was surprised when Steve/Jon sent back a ridiculously restrictive diet-mostly consisting of hard-boiled eggs, chicken, yams, and 2 cups of leafy greens. He also recommended pre-workout and protein supplements (that Jungle Fitness sold), Muscle Egg (flavored liquid egg whites that JF also sold-just the thought makes me want to gag), and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 12 oz of water to stave off hunger pangs. I told Jon, Anh, and Steve via group text that I did cardio at OrangeTheory Fitness and Cyclebar a few times a week, and they still advised me to stick to 1200ish calories a day. **THIS** is where I regret not trusting myself, and pushing back against them more. When I told them that I had trouble staying awake because I was so tired, that I had terrible brain fog, and that I was always in a horrible mood, they reassured me that it was normal. I continued to follow their diet (strictly) for 1 month, before following it loosely the next month. **That's** when my hair started falling out uncontrollably. I pulled out actual hairballs while brushing. Literal clumps of hair fell out when I showered, brushed, or caught my hair on part of the sofa. Before this, I lost a few strands during brushing or in the shower-but I have never experienced anything like this. Crash dieting is known to cause Telogen Effluvium-excessive, rapid, uncontrollable hair shedding that goes on for 3 to 6 months. I've seen 4 MDs who gave me the same diagnosis, and agreed that the diet was too restrictive. An MD or RDN (both qualified to prescribe meal plans) would've never given me such a meal plan, and would've intervened when I had problems instead of encouraging me to continue. I only regret not knowing what I know now. Writing meal plans ARE NOT part of a personal trainer's scope of practice-no matter how many online nutrition certs they've racked up. They can only provide general nutrition advice, NOT write meal plans. Jon and Steve were so focused on me eating fewer calories than my basal metabolic rate (BMR) that they failed to take my total daily energy expenditure (TDEE = BMR + physical activity + TEF) into account. That made my calorie deficit too drastic, which resulted in hair loss. I've since fixed my diet, but it will take months for my hair to stop shedding, and years for my hair density to return. This is where I am now. I lose the same amount of hair in 1 day that I used to lose in 1 week. Prior to joining Jungle Fitness, I had long, thick, thigh-length hair with a ponytail circumference of 6". It's been about 3 months since this started, and I've lost half my hair volume. The worse part was Steve and Jon's initial responses. Steve tried to double down on his caloric restrictions. One time (in-person), Steve wanted to talk to me about "possibly adding an avocado" when I mentioned that my hair was falling out. Never mind that the problem was the severely restricted diet and number of calories (also, hair is made out of keratin-an amino acid). Suffice to say, he has no business telling someone what they can or can't eat. The only person who initially expressed any support or empathy was Heaven-my new trainer who had nothing to do with this. Steve just stopped responding. Jon did not respond until I left this review. Initially, he expected me to continue training with JF for the next 10 months in hopes that I might change my 1-star review. Had I not demanded that he cancel my 1-year contract and refund unused sessions, I strongly doubt he would've. I've learned a few things from this experience: NEVER sign a long-term gym contract without getting a free trial first. Don't fall for high-pressure sales tactics (that Jon will use during your first meeting). PTs push supplements and meal plan services because they get kickbacks. The trainers here spend more time on their phones and chatting amongst each other than they do with you. They know you're locked into a long contract (that requires you to pay for the entire 3/6/9/12-month period) if you cancel early. The equipment here is at least 20 years old, and smells like it. I wanted to get healthy again and this fitness facility catered to what I needed: custom trainings, nutritional guidance, meal preps, and even online trainings when I travel for work. I have always tried to be a healthy person since college, but the pandemic really did a number on me and I let myself go. I gained about 25 lbs and really felt bad in my own skin. I was traveling to Orange County for business and I was very lucky to meet the great people and trainers from Jungle Fitness. I was able to do a few sessions with them and it honestly put me on the right track back to my confident healthy self. They helped me with my workouts and health plan while I was in Orange County. But they also created a workout and nutrition plan for me that I was able to continue when I had to go home. I can't believe I'm just now getting to writing a review for Jungle Fitness, but here I am... 2.5 years later! I came to Jungle in the summer of 2021 tired, severely out of shape, with a sluggish metabolism, and nursing a deep-seated distrust of personal trainers. I knew I had to do something, so after a bit of digging, I came to Jungle and my life has changed. Words cannot express how much Jungle has changed me for the better. If you want numbers, I've lost 25 lbs., 6.5 inches off my waist, and I'm stronger than ever (like, really strong). My trainer is Heaven and I couldn't recommend her enough. She single-handedly changed my body shape and revealed the curves I'd been hiding underneath. If you want someone attentive, kind, knowledgeable, fun, and willing to work with you, Heaven is the TOP choice. As far as the gym goes, it's spacious, clean, with plenty of squat racks, updated equipment, and lots of weights. More importantly, the community here is supreme. Every single one of the trainers are wonderful, and the other lifters are super sweet. If you want an easy-going but super effective environment, Jungle is the place to be. read more

2021 Update! I have accomplished so much after joining this gym! I joined at one of the lowest points in my life Just knowing I needed a change. It wasn't just about physically getting into the best shape of my life, but mentally and emotionally getting there too. When you have the support you need combined with commitment you can truly do anything. Since joining jungle in 2019 I have accomplished much! I'm listing not just the physical accomplishments, but everything else too because until 2019 my life was going in the same direction for years...not a bad direction ....but somewhat average. There were things I wanted to do but I was just.waiting for the right time (which is the normal BS we tell ourselves) Since 2019 I have - - Ran 3 marathons - Learned to kite surf in Aruba and traveled to Mexico to surf too - Ran 2 ultra marathons. 2 24 hour races 50 miles, and 60 miles. placed 3rd and 4th - Went from 32.5% body fat to 13% - Competed in my first NPC Bikini Contest placed 2nd Truce Novice, 3rd Novice and 4th Open - Started 2 of my own business's - Overcome a hamstring injury - Youth leader at my church - Traveled to many countries alone to explore I have always been in contact with Marvin and Steve from Jungle. Even during Covid. They have supported me, and believed in me, especially during the hard times. This is not just a gym....this is a foundation for everything else in your life. This place is a community of people all working towards being a better version themselves. I am currently training for my next NPC competition, and I will keep training towards my goal of becoming an IFBB Professional Bikini Competitor. These people changed my life! I joined jungle fitness over 2 years ago and it has been the best experience. All the trainers there are very knowledge, friendly, and just amazing people! When I first joined, I met with Jon and he spoke to me about my schedule and goals. He is always so nice and energetic and whenever I'm in the gym he will be sure to say hello. All the trainers are amazing but I'm so glad he put me with Anh. Anh is the absolute best! She is an amazing trainer and friend. Going to jungle fitness has been my version of therapy after long days at work. Anh always pushed me in the workouts but also listened to me when I needed to rant about life. The first days/weeks were difficult, but every week I was getting stronger and more motivated and confident. Even when I came in in a bad mood, I always left the gym with a smile. Thank you Anh Steve is also another trainer that I've had a few workouts with and always at the gym with Anh. Steve is awesome! He always has hard workouts and also, is always there to help out with form or just to chit chat with. Jungle fitness has body fat competitions through the year which is always fun because I'm very competitive. I got 2nd place twice! Also, Anh gives amazing massages and does cupping therapy, which helps so much. They help with your nutrition and supplements and offer meal preps too. I've had a lot of trainers at many different price points, and I must say Coach Steve is by far the worst trainer I've ever had. He makes up random workouts on the spot, doesn't keep track of your working weights, and disappears to chat with other trainers or to do other business for 90 percent of the session. He wouldn't remember if we were doing legs or back or chest and even when I'd constantly remind him. He would ask me oh can you do a plate on hip thrusts, when I could easily double that. As a trainer, it is your job to design a training plan, but he wasn't paying attention at all. He also canceled a lot of our sessions (often last minute) and will leave the session early. Most of his clients end up working with Coach Anh at least half of the time because of his constant canceling. One time he cancelled the same day claiming to be sick, then he posts himself out on Instagram. Clients aren't stupid and can tell when you're lying about being sick. He would bring mcdonald's and eat during the session, and would say "don't eat like me". I don't care what you eat, but clients are paying a lot of money for these sessions, please eat on your own time. For the price point, you can get a trainer that actually pays attention to you. read more

It all started with gaining 40lbs during quarantine and a huge struggle trying to get back to the gym. I really wanted to make a change in my life and signed up for Jungle Fitness because I just needed that extra push. The meal plan, the exercises, and the trainers are fantastic. The first day I arrived Jon gave me a brief walkthrough tour and set me up with a trainer. I got assigned to Heaven as my trainer and I couldn't be happier. She really puts my muscles to work every single session. Even though it's a group setting Heaven has every individual do something different. Before the exercises I did by myself I didn't see the results I wanted. Heaven walks me through exercises and corrects me so I target the correct muscles. She is also very personable, always shows up with a fantastic attitude. My body goals of being snatched for 2022 are a lot closer thanks to Heaven pushing my limits every week. I'm Eric 50 yr old contractor from OC, my office in Irvine around the corner from Jungle Fitness. I drive by daily so I called the number on the sign and spoke with Jon, we set up a meeting and I joined. Jon paired me with trainer Bryan, I've been training with Bryan for the last 12 months. Bryan plans your workouts mon-Fri and shows you how to do it correctly he is with you the entire time if you're doing something wrong he will correct you. The first month I was sore everyday. I started at 28% body fat I'm a year in now best shape of my life at 19% body fat. The vibe at Jungle is awesome, I look forward to going every day. if you're on the fence about joining do it. Been training with Anh at the Jungle for a couple of months now, and the improvement in my health and fitness cannot be overstated. Not only do the Junglers do their hour-long job in training their clients, but they also follow up on nutrition plans that are specific to each client. Anh has been following up on me my "homework," as well as taking my supplements. My motivation to preserving this momentum is through the roof, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will stay loyal to those folks. Always remember your goal and what is at stake here. This isn't some nice dining place (even though those are important) -- this is about your health and your fitness. This is about adding years of good health and avoiding pain that comes with old age. This review is way overdue! I loved coming to work out and training with Marvin. He was by the far the best coach I've ever worked out with. I was able to achieve half of my weight goals which for me was pretty amazing, didn't think it was possible! (Thanks Marvin ) and on top of that I got to meet some of the friendliest people! This is a great place to join and make a big progress towards your goals, I joined a year ago and I can't ask for a better coach and atmosphere to work out, Jon (owner) has a great personality and Coach Q is the best I've ever worked out with, I have had other personal trainers in the past and with him (Q) I sure did witness a huge difference. All coaches are super friendly and knowledgeable, they make it such a fun experience that every time I go, I feel like I'm about to join to a fun party:), highly recommend it and it definitely worths your time and money. read more

Before discovering Jungle Fitness, I was active on my own but could never really seem to see results I was looking for. I knew I needed accountability and guidance from a gym that took fitness seriously. The owner, Jon, tailored a specific "road map" of getting me to my desired physique on my consult meeting. This gym uses metrics to measure your progress. It really helps to see these numbers as physical changes can take time to see on the surface but it was reassuring to know the hard work I was putting in was paying off by tracking your measurements. I was also provided a diet plan, which is flexible if needs be for any dietary restrictions. I highly recommend Coach Heaven as she is very responsive and absolutely give 5 stars to communication with her! Heaven will teach you proper form to get the best results of your workout and is attentive to how much you can/can't do. I went from 37% body fat to 20%, Heaven makes the workouts fun yet effective.
