"Chocolate" shake is no longer chocolate... what the?!

The "chocolate" shake is no longer chocolate. Really strange flavor. Fries were overloaded with salt too. Super disappointing.

Truly famous for a reason My go-to order: - double double animal style with extra grilled onions and chopped chilis - Flying Dutchman with a whole grilled onion wrap - fries extra well done (+ animal style if I'm feeling it) - neapolitan shake (vanilla, chocolate, & strawberry)

    Well done fries

This has been my go to location for many years and is super consistent. The parking lot and drive through are not as crazy as the other locations, and it's easy to get in and out of. The staff are always friendly and quick considering the endless line. I always get the hamburger and sometimes get the well done fries and their ratio/flavors are always right here.

Came through for lunch right after shopping at the Camarillo Outlets and it's super close, so it's a perfect lunch after walking around all morning. This is definitely one of the bigger locations I've seen, which is nice because it didn't feel too cramped. The line actually wasn't bad at all. We grabbed two Double-Double meals and got the fries extra crispy and add grilled onions to the burger. It was delicious. I've been eating In-N-Out since I was a kid, and it never misses. It's just satisfying every single time. The crew here was super friendly and the service was on point.

When it comes to Burgers, everyone has an opinion. A group of us had an entire debate and discussion around the topic. We went back and forth on meat patties, the flavor and seasoning of the patties, the bun, the ingredients used, the custom toppings like "Special Sauce" or "Animal Style"...etc. etc. When it comes down to it, In-N-Out Burger is in the Top 5. Yet, it's all subjective, just like the list of Top 5 Rappers, everyone has a different list. Whenever you compare, the list is always different. Some are left off the list, that others have included. Make your own list! The Double Meat, no cheese, with Lettuce, Pickles, Mustard, and Ketchup only...that's my favorite combination. Not a fan of "Special Sauce" - Thousand Island Dressing and Ketchup mixed together. The classic, Double-Double contains two meat patties, and two slices of cheese, along with their Special Sauce, lettuce, pickles and onions. The carnivores out there can ask for the 4 by 4 (4x4), which is....you guessed it 4 meat patties and 4 slices of cheese. Tip: I'm a little on the health conscious side, so I do my Double Meat burger as described above. If you wanted to be healthier, you can do that in as a Lettuce Wrap. I also ask for fries with no salt. It allows you to minimize your salt intake and get a fresh, crisp batch of fries. Then add your own salt and pepper.

In n out always hits the spot when we are on road trips. I love customizing my burger to my taste, and they always do a great job. Drink bar and ketchup and banana peppers well stocked.

You want a great burger and fries? You need to stop here! Best In-N-Out I've been to. We usually do the drive through, but we have eating inside a couple of time. I love In-N-Out not only because they are the best burgers ever but because they have good values, great customer service and it's always fresh! We ordered our food and waited a couple minutes but not so bad. The fries were so crispy and perfectly salted. I ordered a protein style double double cheeseburger for me, since I'm trying to eat a lot less gluten. I also ordered a strawberry milkshake which has just the right amount of sweetness. The restaurant is kept really clean! I saw a couple of employees who were cleaning tables and sweeping during the time were there.

I love this In N Out location so I wanted to give them a good review. I'm really trying to cut back on fast food, fast food isn't usually quality and it adds up $$. However, I will always be an In N Out girly! If I am going to cheat and get fast food then the only place I usually want is in n out. It's always made to order, tastes delish, and service is 5 stars as far as a fast food spot goes. I love this location as it's convenient being located right off the freeway. I also like that they have a pretty massive parking lot so even when the lines get super long you usually aren't ending up on the main road which is a problem at a lot of locations. The inside is clean and spacious for when dining in but I will say 90% of the time I'm going through the drive thru. I probably don't need to give you the rundown on the menu but everything is good and I love that they have a simple menu. I also appreciate that the days I'm waiting a slightly healthier option I can get a lettuce wrapped burger or a flying Dutchmen (just patties and cheese). On a cheat day though my usual is a #1 with well done fries and a pink lemonade. Yum! Pro tip: I refuse to wait in the long lines for in n out. You won't see me do it! lol. I always come at opening or off hours on a weekday like 2 or 3pm and usually I can get almost right up to the speaker without waiting. It's worked for me time and time again, the best way to do it. Everyone that works here is super nice and helpful. I also appreciate that my order is NEVER wrong here, they always make it exactly as I order it and I'm never missing food when I drive off. They have such a good system here for a fast food spot you really can't beat it.

I ordered a cheeseburgurger combo and took a bite into my burger, and there was a hair in it. I puked out the door!!!

I ordered a cheese burger combo, and when I took a bite out of my burger. There was a hair in the burger. I threw up gross. I wasn't happy with the service i got. Burger with Hair!!! Nope. I'm good. You can keep your food.

My love and bias will always be here. How do you know something is good? When you go back hundreds and most likely thousands of times for a satisfying meal. As a former employee, I still find myself to this day craving In-N-Out Burger. The commercials, nostalgia, merchandise and cult like following pervade you as a Southern CA resident. Successful food establishment formula: Number one: consistency Number two: customer service Number three: cleanliness In-N-Out hits a grand slam when it comes to these items. It doesn't matter if I am here or anywhere else INO may be; I know what I'm going to receive when I order it. Fresh, quality ingredients beautifully constructed you forget it's "fast food". Service is fast, friendly and over delivers. And finally, the dining room and bathrooms are always clean and stocked. INO 4 LIFE !

They're open all day, so you can come in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which makes it super convenient. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice a beautiful display of wine bottles, and you can clearly see the full bar ahead--definitely sets the tone that the drinks are going to be just as good as the food. Fabiola was our waitress, and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. She answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!), making the whole experience even better. We all started with coffee--because how could we not at breakfast? Unfortunately, their espresso machine wasn't working, so I went with a regular black coffee with creamer. It was actually pretty good! We didn't order any appetizers, but they have plenty of great options to choose from. For my meal, I ordered the ribeye sandwich, and wow--the meat was so tender and juicy, full of flavor, and the portion was perfect. I could honestly eat this every day. My sister had the chilaquiles, which were highly recommended by the staff, and they definitely lived up to the hype. The only thing is we wished they were a little more saucy, as they were slightly on the dry side. My sister-in-law ordered the big breakfast, which comes with two of everything--huge portions and definitely worth it. Now let's talk about the pancakes... they offer both regular pancakes and Mexican-style pancakes, which are thinner--but honestly, so much better. I cannot stress enough how amazing they were. I absolutely fell in love and would come back just for those alone! Overall, such an amazing place. Highly recommend!

We had a great Valentine's Day brunch at Hollywood Beach Cafe!…read more We joined the Yelp waitlist while walking over from our hotel and ended up waiting only about 25 minutes for a table around 10am, honestly impressive for Valentine's Day. The process was super easy and made the wait feel seamless. We were seated on the "outdoor" patio, which was absolutely delightful. It's covered, so it feels like you're inside, but it's still open-air and pup friendly, which we loved. They even have a pup menu and bring out little metal water bowls. Our doggo was living his best life. The menu is large with tons of options. We initially tried using the QR code (which is great because it includes photos), but ultimately asked for a paper menu, sometimes it's just easier to flip through. My husband ordered The California (eggs, bacon, and pancakes). This breakfast also comes with toast and your choice of potatoes. We upgraded to the chili cheese tots, thinking it was just a small upcharge from the standard side, and didn't realize until we got back to the hotel that we were charged $8 for them, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the tots were tasty (just eat them quickly because they cool off fast!). His eggs were cooked perfectly, but the $3.50 upcharge to add blueberries to the pancakes felt steep, and the bacon was mostly fat and a bit overcooked. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with poached eggs, and the eggs were absolutely perfect. The dish was bursting with flavor. My only critique was that the beans were a bit too liquid-heavy, which made the tortilla very soggy, I couldn't finish as much as I would've liked because of that. The Bloody Marys, though? So good. Highly recommend! We both loved them. Our server was pleasant and friendly. Oh and there was a Char Man hot sauce on the table that was EPIC! Overall, we would definitely come back, we'd just try a few different menu items next time... except for the Bloody Marys. Those are a repeat order for sure.

BBQ Worth Fighting Over at Smokin Jay's BBQ & Coffee from Potheads Coffee…read more My wife and I recently stopped by Smokin Jay's BBQ and paired it with a visit to Potheads Coffee, and it turned into one of those meals you end up talking about long after you leave. From the first bite, it was clear this spot takes their BBQ seriously. Entrées: We started by ordering a brisket plate, which came with about 1/4 lb of brisket, roughly six solid pieces, along with macaroni salad and baked beans. Our original plan was to share, but that quickly changed after the first few bites. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right with that perfect balance of smoke and juiciness. It didn't take long before we realized sharing wasn't going to cut it. So my wife went back up and ordered a brisket sando with fries, and it absolutely delivered. The sandwich came loaded with brisket, pickles, slaw, and sauce, all working together perfectly. The fries were a great side, crispy and a solid pairing with the sandwich. Sides: The macaroni salad and baked beans that came with the plate were both on point. The mac salad was creamy and complemented the richness of the brisket, while the baked beans added that sweet and savory depth you want with BBQ. Sandwich Details: The sando really stood out, especially with the addition of the slaw. My wife usually isn't a fan of coleslaw, but this one changed things a bit. It wasn't overpowering and added a nice crunch and balance to the sandwich, tying everything together without taking away from the brisket. Drinks and Service: Grabbing coffee from Potheads Coffee alongside the meal was the perfect move. What really stood out, though, was the service. Jay, the owner, was walking around checking in on customers and genuinely engaging with everyone. He even helped my wife decide on a coffee based on what she usually orders at Starbucks, which was a great personal touch. He later stopped by our table, chatted with us for a bit, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and personal. Ambience: The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid back and lively. It has that casual, welcoming BBQ spot feel where you can relax, enjoy your food, and not feel rushed. Pairing it with Potheads Coffee adds to the experience, making it feel like more than just a meal but a spot you can hang out and enjoy. Overall: Smokin Jay's BBQ is hands down the best BBQ spot I've had in Ventura County so far. Between the quality brisket, well put together sides, standout sandwiches, and the personal touch from the owner, it's an easy recommendation. Pair it with Potheads Coffee, and you've got yourself a top tier Ventura food stop that's definitely worth coming back to.

I was merely a road-battered pilgrim, six hours removed from Oakland, washed ashore near the freeway at the velvet fringe of Ventura County, in that glossy new development called The Collection, where every building looks as though it was approved by a committee whose mission statement was: Let there be ambient lighting and retail optimism. My dinner choices arrived like mildly desperate contestants in a televised pageant. Cheesecake Factory told me the wait would be twenty-five minutes and that they would text me. Reader, I assume that text is now trapped in a ravine somewhere, being nursed back to health by quail. Then there was some steak place whose name dissolved from memory before I finished looking at it. So into Lazy Dog I wandered, hungry, tired, spiritually fragile, and very open to persuasion. And I have to admit: the place has a certain charm. From the back at night, Lazy Dog is weirdly enchanting. The warm lights, the patio glow, the bottles shining through the bar, the whole thing looks like a lodge designed by someone who wanted to seduce exhausted motorists into believing life is still full of promise. Yet the actual entrance is oddly easy to miss. The restaurant is basically playing hard to get. A chain restaurant with mystery. A flirt. A woodland princess in practical shoes. Inside, the vibe is part upscale sports bar, part polished suburban den, part "let's make everyone from picky teenagers to diet-conscious moms to semi-hungover road warriors feel included." Buffalo Wild Wings, but after therapy, better lighting, and a semester abroad. The seating is not what I would call voluptuous. You are not sinking into a cloud of velvet mercy here. But the room is lively, social, and good-humored. It hums in that specific modern way that says yes, you may order tacos, noodles, a burger, or a cocktail with fruit in it, and no one will judge your lack of culinary allegiance. The cocktail situation was fun. I had the raspberry sangria, which tasted less like old-world wine-country sophistication and more like Hawaiian Punch got hired by a vineyard. It was bright, sweet, cheerful, and only slightly ridiculous. A prom queen in a stemmed glass. I did not hate it. I also did not see God. 3/5. Service was reliable, friendly, and sincere, which in today's dead-eyed hospitality landscape feels almost mystical. No fake grandeur, no attitude, no emotional frostbite. Just kind, competent people doing their jobs without making me feel like an interruption in their evening. That deserves respect. The menu is broad enough to make you nervous. Burgers, Italian-ish things, Thai-ish things, tacos, bowls, pizza, noodles, probably a diplomatic treaty if you ask politely. Usually a menu this sprawling suggests culinary panic. But Lazy Dog somehow lands on the right side of chaos. Not transcendent, not revolutionary, but steady in a way that is more useful than many trendier places would like to admit. The fried hard-boiled deviled eggs were the surprise star. In theory, this is the kind of appetizer that sounds like America whispering, "What if we made the picnic more reckless?" In practice: very good. Crispy outside, creamy inside, faintly absurd, and impossible not to admire. 4.5/5. The shrimp tacos were also solid. Bright, fresh, avocado doing its usual California diplomacy, pickled onions bringing color and sass, and the whole plate looking just photogenic enough to make younger foodie civilians feel seen by the algorithm. 4.3/5. The shrimp Thai noodles were decent too. Not an oracle, not a revelation, not the kind of dish that makes monks ring bells in the mountains, but flavorful and more than respectable after a long drive. 3.8/5. That may be Lazy Dog's real strength. It is not trying to be a sacred culinary temple guarded by tattooed sommeliers and fermented foams. It is trying to be open late, fun, dependable, and welcoming enough to make a tired traveler feel the night still has one last good chapter in it. And after six hours in the car, that is not nothing. That is grace with parking. So no, this is not the hidden gastronomic throne of Oxnard. But it is a lively, late-night, good-energy landing pad with charming exterior glow, sincere service, fun drinks, and better food than a cynic might expect. Would I come back? Absolutely. Mostly because Lazy Dog fed me, comforted me, and acknowledged the passage of time, which is more than I can say for Cheesecake Factory. Also, points for being open until midnight, because some places close early as if adulthood itself should have a curfew. Lazy Dog, by contrast, understands the nocturnal needs of the weary, the under-caffeinated, the gossip-prone, and the mildly glamorized freeway drifter still chasing one last decent meal before surrendering to hotel-sheet oblivion.

Waterside Restaurant is an absolute gem in Channel Islands Harbor!…read more Every dish we tried was fantastic. For starters, we had fresh seared ahi tuna, delicious crab cakes, perfectly battered shrimp, and crispy calamari served with a marinara sauce that had just the right amount of spice. Our table enjoyed the chicken piccata, lobster ravioli, and Wagyu burger, and every entrée was excellent. The blackberry margaritas were a standout and worth the visit alone! Dessert was the perfect finish with tiramisu, rich chocolate cake, and incredible churro waffles topped with caramel cream sauce, walnuts, and strawberries. Chef's kiss to all three. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between casual and upscale, with great outdoor seating and harbor views. The packed bar area made it clear this is a local favorite. Highly recommend Waterside whenever you're in the Oxnard/Channel Islands area. We will definitely be back!

Parking was super easy with plenty of spaces, which was a huge plus. The restaurant is right next to the water and had such chic, romantic vibes--perfect for a special occasion. It was a fixed menu, but we were still able to choose our entrees. We started with a salad and lobster bisque, which was my first time trying it, and it was so good. For my entrée, I got the braised short rib and it was AMAZING--super juicy and full of flavor. I also ordered an espresso martini, which was delicious. I added a photo of our drinks because they were all so good. Dessert was a choice between tiramisu and cheesecake, and both were delicious. After dinner, we walked by the ocean next to the restaurant, which made the night even better. Definitely an amazing Valentine's dinner!
