Noted the place has seen a lot of business over the years but still seemed like the kind of place I would gladly sit down and to eat. So while I'm waiting a few people walk in and the folks behind the counter actually addressed them by their first names as they order. I thought those returning must know something... Got my burger and some fries and headed out. Started to eat about 10 minutes later ***OMG***the burger was great!! It had been a long time since I tasted a burger that good. They also offer daily dinner specials, which include a small soft drink. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They also offer discounts for cash payments, seniors, and military members and rewards program for frequent customers. Burger Barn was a decent experience. I went in to get some breakfast burritos. I ended up ordering the super burrito which come with bacon and sausage. Truthfully, they were ok and I was kinda bummed that they didn't hold their heat as I drive home about 10 minutes. The service was good though, I was greeted at the counter and all the staff I interacted with seemed friendly. Inside you have the option to sit down and be served and they have a good amount of tables available for the space. Burger Barn is a place you go with friends and family, I wouldn't necessarily have a date here. Overall, good experience and I will return to try something else soon. read more

Ever since moving to the area, we've been meaning to go here. Saw they were open at 8am. Full menu except for Dinner is available for breakfast. Theres only the cook and busser. Food was ready pretty quick. They were nice and told us to try their salsa. The ambiance was giving old, retro-y, somewhat clean place. Its pretty spacious. Lots of seating and different tvs on. Few arcade games and quarter machines for tattoos and toys. We ordered to-go the Camarillo Burger and the Big Barn Breakfast. Camarillo burger was a nice fresh tasting cheesy burger. Couldn't really taste the avocado but it was good. Fries were freshly fried and salted. The Barn Breakfast came with Eggs, Toast, sausage or bacon, and home potatoes. Loved that they had options for bread (ie. sourdough, wheat, etc) Got the sausage and it was a classic round patty sausage. Potatoes were a bit undercooked but came with a nice portion and was well buttered. Their green salsa had a strong kick but the flavor was delicious! Pastrami burger and onion rings were good. For the burger, good size and portion of ingredients as the whole burger stayed in intact with and without the wrapper. The taste was good, only preference were to include pickles but flavor came along well with mustard and ranch on the side. Onion rings were fried well and came in small and big, not too big rings. Overall good quality. Service was thorough and simply helpful, can't complain. Ambiance was nice as the restaurant was small but enough seats all around. Our favorite burger place in town- hands down! Plenty of options to choose from besides burgers. Their fish n chips are great. Kids meals include a small shake which is a really cute touch. Patty was juicy, bun held up, and the whole thing was put together right. I'm not even gonna lie, I was gonna take a picture but it didn't happen... I took one bite and next thing I know it was basically gone. My girl got the Hickory Burger and hers was fire too -- smoky, a little sweet, cooked perfect. My only complaint is the last time I was there a few months ago they had a sign posted that they no longer provided water cups to people. Guess you are stuck buying an expensive soft drink. Burger Barn is an old school staple in Camarillo and I'd heard friends say that they had good fast food type food over the years and that it was basically like a high school kids hangout back in the day. I associate that with cheap food and hanging out. I figured I had the gist of it and hadn't particularly ever felt inclined to go. Wanting to try new places I finally ordered take out from here. My review can't speak to the decor, atmosphere, or service but at least I got an idea for the price point and food. All in all I feel like burger barn is a solid 3.5 rating. It's average American take out food, no frills, fill you up kind of a meal. I don't know if I'd crave anything from here because the food was relatively average but it has American heart and old school feels that I definitely want to try to support a local business whenever I can, so if a friend asked me to come with them for another try I probably would. Here is what we tried: 1. Cheeseburger - my cheeseburger was delivered as a hamburger. I don't know if I could think of a bigger atrocity in the food industry. Okay, I'm kidding but has that ever happened to you where you don't get cheese on your burger by mistake and your heart sinks a little? I need cheese! Lol. Anyways, it was a "good" burger but definitely would have been excellent as a cheeseburger. The meat had a good char and I liked the toppings. 2. Tuna Melt Sandwich - tried a bite of this and thought it was average. Tuna was kind of bland but it was definitely a classic griddle tuna sandwich. Just needed a little more love. 3. Onion Rings - the onion rings were tasty. Classic batter and crispy. Good portion size and paired with ranch it was the perfect side. Jesse, I've been a patron at the barn since the very beginning. Stop playin with the breakfast gravy. The gravy being served is not the same quality and flavor as was served previously. After being so good for so long, I bummed realizing I don't think I can order it again. . The last three times I ordered it, it's been not only horribly bad, but inconsistently horribly bad. Each visit over the last month, the gravy was progressively worse with each meal, with today being the worst. It had the texture of cream of wheat, lacked sausage pieces and was over the top salty. Haven't been here in well over a year, so I thought to stop in and support local businesses. Simple order, a cheeseburger no onion cooked well done, fries well done, and a small beverage. Gal taking my order said she started working there about a month ago and seemed pleasant. My order arrived, fries were warm and not hot. Had they been cooked well done as requested they would have been hot. The burger was put together sloppy, and the bun was cold! I proceeded to take a bite and the patty was RAW!!! I returned it to the cook and showed him the raw patty. He apologized (he just started his shift, and it was the other cook that prepared the cheeseburger), and offered to prepare another burger. About 10 minutes later, he brought out my cheeseburger. By this time my fries were cold, and as I took a few bites from the burger it tasted really funny. So, unfortunately, I tossed it all in the trash and vowed never to return. I should've gone to Baja Fresh across the street for a fresh and healthier meal. read more

I found myself on the way back to LA from Camarillo and needed to stop for lunch. My friend (thanks Daniel!) suggested I try Burger Barn as he mentioned a tri-tip sandwich was on the menu (that's all I needed to hear). I found a very clean establishment with a nice outdoor and covered patio. The menu is very extensive and has many different types of burgers and other sandwiches. I opted for the tri-tip. It was served on a soft, very flavorful bun and the meat was tender and I had the choice of teriyaki or hickory sauce toppings. I wasn't sure what hickory sauce was, so I chose teriyaki, and told them to put it on lightly, which they did. The sandwich was excellent, and even though I'm a Coke guy, I welcomed their Pepsi fountain because I will choose Mountain Dew every day and twice on Sundays - which is true because I'm writing this on Sunday and did have a refill! It's located about 3 minutes off the freeway in a quiet shopping center, and it's definitely a worthwhile choice and look forward to trying a burger next time. read more

But I will tell you now focus on is the food and you know getting a charbroiled burger really super tasty fries and a drink for like 1250 out the door I mean you can't beat that price for an actual restaurant you know sit down setting it's an excellent size burger comes with the fictions whatever you want on it. I even give a cash discount over credit card, which is like really cool and they're very friendly And it is a old school rustic family chill vibe. You could go there with your buddies if you're in high school be a cool place to hang out eat after school whatever the situation may be if you're one of those people wants to go and spend $25 on a burger fries and a Coke you know then more power to you no judgment whatsoever, however if you want a very tasty, well made cheeseburger fries, and a drink And I won't break the bank and it's gonna taste really good and be consistent then go check out burger barn and where can you get a boiled burger on top of that? I've been a reoccurring customer of Burger Barn. I will say, I will no longer be supporting this business. I brought my dad for lunch and he provided his ID to get the senior discount. The gal taking the order was great and provided great customer service. Then when I was making my payment, the cook in the back said I couldn't pay, that my father had to pay. I love the "bbq grilled" taste that the burgers have and haven't found the same taste anywhere else. It is a bit of a "hole in the wall", but in a good way. The restaurant is always clean and even when busy, the tables are quickly cleared. It can get busy, but the food is worth the wait. Definitely a good ol' Camarillo eatery and I would highly recommend. read more
