So I'm a vegetarian going to a burger place. We got the fries "animal style" which involves chopped onions and relish and special sauce over the fries. A mess you need a fork to eat. Not worth it in my opinion, I like my fries crispy and with all that on top they definitely weren't. The vegetarian sandwich alternative is basically the burger with all the fixins minus a burger pattie. This was pretty dang good. I'm from California so seeing that there was an in and out in Utah , 1. I had to see if the quality was the same as home 2. I had to have a little taste of home before an even longer drive East. Customer service - on point and the in and out standard courteous (above and beyond type of service , from my experience ) . Food- I ordered a #2 protein style with xtra xtra lettuce (because I'm a weirdo like that) And fries cooked lightly because I love breakfast potatoes and they always remind me of that When I got it, the cheese wasn't even really melted Just kinda sat there. Lettuce tasted old maybe not enough local farms they could get produce from The tomatoes were suspiciously perfect large. I think they were my fav part but I know what a real tomato looks and tastes like so kinda made me think about GMOs? It was as big as the burger patty lol my fries which are my fav ever were heavillllyyyyy salted and greasy. Usually our fries don't come with salt, just little salt packets so we can salt our own or nah. Most of my friends in Utah think that In-N-Out is overrated and hate their fries. I grew up with In-N-Out in CA and I think it's the best fast-food burger out there, hands-down. I love their fries, dipped in my own special concoction of ketchup+pepper. Plus, the secret menu is always fun. Good prices, friendly people, clean restaurants, and clean bathrooms. Plus, they have like 3 floor plans that have been iterated across CA, UT, and NV, so I always feel like I'm somewhere familiar. read more

This is a great place to get a great burger and mediocre fries. But that just describes every In and Out around. The only thing lowering my rating here is that, overall, if you go inside and order there you get served whole fries but if you go through the drive through you get the chipped ends and burnt pieces of fries which, as stated above, aren't great to begin with. But I don't go to a burger place to get fries so I'll be back. But please, can you just not discriminate on the fries in the drive through? read more

Consistently soggy and incredibly salty. Service is generally friendly, but this place is in a constant state of chaos. Being from California, this is the only piece of California that I have left here in Utah. Nothing better than a burger with crisp fresh onions and awesome customer service. Although I've never been a fan of their fries, even though they're totally natural and made right in front of you. Let's get into the physics of the burger. The 2 thin patties compared to a single thicker patty? Better surface area and more efficient absorption of grease from the grill. The bun? Perfectly crisped on the outer edges and soft buttery center melted onto a crisp ass piece of lettuce! And the cheese? It's not a high quality cheese but that's why it pairs so well with the 2 patties. The crisp veggies paired perfectly with the softer meat and buts just needs to be consumed right away A perfect burger, which always happens, needs to be consumed right away. Similar to when you go buy pho. There's not point in "take out." eat now or forever hold your peace. Haha And their shakes are amazing too. Made with whole milk and not yogurt substitute, they definitely remind me of my childhood. I usually start sipping my milk shake and don't put it down till it's finished. It's, that, good. I took my kids to this restaurant today in Utah. I have heard great things about it and we do not have any in CT. They have a small menu but everything is done well. I don't even want to write anything. The food speaks for itself. The only issue is the owner is a born again.

I'm not mad, but I am disappointed. I grabbed some take out from here on March 19th. I wasn't looking for a fantastic meal, I was craving a cheese burger and it had been a little while since I had gotten one. I was looking forward to the small treat, but I ended up with a day of no fun the following day. I watched as they hurried to fill all the orders for what seemed like a bunch of high school kids after a game celebrating. The staff was busy to say the least. I noticed one employee who was making sure the orders were finished with everything that was requested by the numerous customers and she was also calling out on the ticket numbers on the microphone as they finished. I assumed she was changing her gloves with each tome she picked it up because she was going to the side by the drive thru and I couldn't see her. After my experience the day after eating my food I now think my assumption was wrong. I don't think she changed her gloves at all and I'm not sure how many times she touched the microphone. I know that I never saw the microphone get wiped down so I'm not sure it ever was. To think about all the stuff accumulating on there for who knows how long makes me feel ill all over again. I most likely won't be going back to this location as I'm not sure how the food safety practices are enforced or if they're even followed by the employees. I will say the girl who took my order was really friendly and did an excellent job. read more

The first time I tried In N Out was when they first opened in Utah. I didn't think it was anything special at the time. Just a regular cheeseburger with hand cut fries. When I tried this location the last time I was in Salt Lake I kind of got a better sense of why people like In N Out a lot. First of, we went thru the drive thru. The menu sign is pretty simple a cheeseburger, a double, and ....something else. They ask you if you are going to eat your meal in the car, which confused me but then I said, "yeah". Found out that they package your meal in an open box so it will be easier for you to eat in your car. Nice. Now I know there's a secret special menu or way of ordering ... something about animal style..but I didn't have time to research it, I was just hungry for a cheeseburger. Anyway, we were sitting in our car eating from a box a and were tasting the freshness of the ingredients, the toasted bun, and just the right amount of sauce. The fries weren't bad either. So, okay I kind of get why this place is a big deal. Would I eat here rather than McDonald's or Wendy's? Well if their cheeseburgers are consistently like the ones we had, then you bet. read more

Friendliest staff as expected. It had been 4 long years since I've had an In n Out Burger & I can honestly say the entire experience did not disappoint! From the cleanliness of the restaurant and toilets to the fact that you still have to wait for a table at prime lunch time loved it! My favourite is the double double with sauce only. What makes it so good? The perfectly melted cheese, the slightly toasted buns, thin fresh beef patties that are grilled fresh to order never cold and I can't forget the fresh hand cut French fries with plenty of ketchup. We absolutely love love love the in & out burger chain. I have read the book and understand two things about in& out that really define why we almost exclusively eat here for burgers. in &out started in 1948 just after the war and when many of the other chains got going as well...In & out has remained unchanged the menu is the same and the operations are the same so when you go into a in & out burger joint you are essentially looking at what a burger joint was in the 50's and thats pretty spectacular to us. reason number two their menu is simple burgers, fries and shakes this genius menu means the quality goes through the roof and remains consistent through a 2-3 hour long rush which they looked like they were in when we got there and when your employees have got the menu down the pace is fast paced and they can serve 50 or 60 guests efficiently. Also on our gotta go here list they put verses in discreet places so when we go we look for all the verses. This particular restaurant was deep in a rush on a Saturday and the crew was running quite fast and very efficiently...there was not much seating but we found a spot and sat down..we had our double burgers and fries and they were super speedy when my husband asked for a set of fries without salt we thought we had sometime to say a quick blessing and started to say the blessing and the guy was right there with fries and was really respectful and patient as we finished our blessing. In & out is also very family friendly and could see that with the amount of kids running around We couldn't have asked for a better experience read more

I travel a lot to areas near and east of Houston TX. Why do I seem to imply that that's relevant to this review? It means that I do not have enough time around my home or near any other In-N-Out locations. However, I have tried this and other In-N-Outs enough to claim the following: Their expansion has not hurt quality in any case that I have noticed. The staff are excellent; we ate at the "15's location" of Mazza last night and at this In-N-Out late this afternoon. I was pleased that we agreed to give the Mazza waiter a memorable tip last night, yet the helpfulness and sincerity of the employee who helped us at the In-N-Out at least equaled those in our notable Mazza server. It made me check --and regret the answer-- we were at least not encouraged to tip at this In-N-Out. The one employee we dealt with exceeded our already high expectations in 3 remarkable ways and could earn excellent tips elsewhere--'Thank You Paul' for the kind of attention to detail that can make a visit to even a fast food place special. I have tried the other local highly-rated area competitors, including the ones that SLC residents can immediately think of, which have well-earned local reputations. Our visit here today, even before we tried our excellent purchases at exceptionally reasonable prices, made me regret that this was my first chance to get here in a long time for, to me, an amazing --but not out of bounds for the In-N-Out chain-- fast food experience. read more

YUM! I am a happy girl after my double-double lettuce wrap today. This was my second time having it. I loved how easy this lettuce wrap was to eat! Usually they are too messy and have too much lettuce. These ones were the perfect meat-to-lettuce ratio. They staff is always so kind when I come here.
