Have wanted to go in but the lines have deterred us but finally went through the drive through. In n out does not disappoint and the double double with grilled onions as usual impeccably delicious. Fries were good and I treated myself by washing it all down with a thick and yummy strawberry shake. Surprisingly fast for as many cars as there were in drive through and their staff do an incredible job. 4.75 overall, can't give them the 5 stars because this spot messing up the traffic situation in my neighborhood so just being petty!!! read more

The food is amazing! It's always consistent. It never disappoints. The service is great. Friendly and welcoming staff. The ambience is BUSY!! According to one of the employees there is about 75 to 80 employees working today. A well oiled machine. Lots of people here for the first day/grand opening. They are directing traffic to the drive thru and have employees selling merch. This location offers charging stations for cars. Great location. Most locations are off the freeway. It's nice having this one close to home. For the record, I hope I'm the first person to leave a Yelp review. read more

One of the reasons my stars keep going when rating this place. I asked for light well fries... one step up from the normal soggy fry they seem to make... and I get this burnt crap! Inedible again. Recently I had cause to stop by the new In and Out Burger place down the street from our home. We had watched with some anticipation the building of the restaurant over the weeks preceding the opening. Then we saw the HUGE lines of cars from before opening till late at night and thought, "meh, maybe not..." A couple of days ago, I was flying solo after a meeting in Turlock and decided to brave the place. When I headed over, I saw two openings for cars, one with a long line of cars and a second with a barrier that looked to have been moved which left more than enough room for my little Kia. Between the two lines was a sign that said "two lines" which I interpreted meant "form two lines" so I did. When I got to where the end of the line was I saw that two workers were taking the orders of the other line so I sat patiently as I had my Audiobook playing. They took several of the other cars without acknowledging me (strange since I was only able to access the line due to the moved barrier and the sign telling me to form two lines). Still, they eventually took my order after explaining that there was only one line (then why was I able to pull into this one easily?) I proceeded to follow the next sign which told me to merge back into one line. Ok, all set, burger soon to be mine. A few minutes later (the line went reasonably fast) a smiling older man appeared at my car explaining that in the mornings they only have one line (then why was the barricade not in place to prevent me from entering?) He explained in a wonderfully friendly way, with a genuine smile and a manner that told me, I don't care how long the next wait in line, this place is my new "happy place." He then handed me a small gratuity for my trouble. Thank you Tony and your staff, you are a class operation and an asset to our community. May your lines always be long and your kindness multiplied! This is the newest In-N-Out Burger in the Modesto area. I like it because it's the closest one to my house. They were very attentive on cleaning and keeping the restaurant respectable. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time we chose to go in because the drive-through was super long. We were lucky and a seat opened up as soon as we ordered. There might be a wait because this is the newest one, but as we know, In-N-Out is always fast. read more

What a well run first day opening! ! Every employee must be working today. They have people outside directing traffic, someone at the door giving out hats and stickers to kids and even tents with merchandise. It looks like they have a lot of corporate people here watching to make sure everything is going well. All employees are happy and definitely know what they are doing! Currently leaving a review for In-N-Out Burger at Sylvan and Oakdale in the city of Modesto. Normally In-N-Out Burger has well trained staff and moves customers in an orderly fashion, delivering exceptional food, and quality with a very extreme organization. But they were in disarray this evening, Thursday, March 26, 2026. There drive-through line with two lines of cars that merges into one was so disorganized the cars on the left we're moving at a very high rate of speed faster than the cars on the right which we're being delayed in not having orders tack'n. Their excuse was they were very busy, but they had two order takers and then they let one go home and only had one order taker which made it even more disorganized. Their staff is generally well trained and organized, but nobody's obviously watching the mice when the cats away. The manager on staff had no logical reason why ??? In-N-Out customer service online is obviously untrained as well, and just gave ridiculous answers that made no sense, from Southern California in Irvine , trying to explain why things weren't going good in Modesto. There's no emergency exit when you're trapped in line in the line of cars there's no way to get out so you're stuck.!! I will not be going back to this In-N-Out ever!!! they're happy to take your money while delivering poor to below adequate service!! This store is operating well below the In-N-Out standards and not following their SOP for sure!!!!!!!! I couldn't post this without giving it a rating so I had to choose one star but I'm actually giving them a minus 10 stars. read more

The staff at this location is always so nice! They go out of their way to say hi, come around to the tables and ask if anything is needed, throw your trash away for you, help you carry your food when you have a lot to carry, and always have smiles on their faces! I'm here 2 days after opening day for their first ever Friday, everything is so shiny and new! It was interesting to see 2 EV changing durations at the front of the store. I have been to hundreds of In-N-Out locations in different states and in the kitchen was the most employees I had ever seen in one place (somewhere around at least 3 dozen). Everyone was kind and friendly, the training of the new employees seems to be going smoothly. I got my Animal Fries to go very quickly (Tony even offered me a water cup without prompting, such a kind gesture on this 105 F day), and I am so excited for this new location to flourish in the community! read more

Had the worst experience, was here for homecoming dinner. Gift card would not work. Tried on multiple registers. Seemed to have bricked the system because even Apple Pay would not work and they could not figure it out. Held up the line and the rest of my party had their food way before me due to the delay. Verified the card has a balance but all they did for me was mail out a new gift card with the old balance transferred over. Major inconvenience. I expect better service. read more

I went a little after 5:00, and it wasn't crowded for an In-N-Out. While there weren't too many cars in the lot, traffic was easily directed and the drive-thru line was organized. I waited maybe ten minutes total from the time I placed my order to the time I got my food at the drive-through window. The employees were friendly. The food was hot and fresh, and my fries were well-salted but not too salty. My only complaint is that I asked for pickles on my burger and didn't receive them... but no biggie, because it's not like I paid extra for them, and the burger was still good without them, and the fries were salted to my liking. When I got to this In-and-Out, I saw that this place was packed which is good and I also saw a lot of nature outside. But when I went in, I saw that there was little seating but they built this from ground up so they could build more seats. When I got my food, it was good like always but the fries were a little cold and the bun was overcooked. Their food is always good and nothing ever disappoints. My family went through the drive-thru on opening day and it was PACKED, but that is to be expected on the opening day and for an In-N-Out in general. I thought the line management was well organized and smooth. If you don't want to be patient and wait in a long line to get food, then don't. I saw a one star review that was only about the line and that is unfair to the restaurant--the number of customers is not something the restaurant can control. Do NOT come to this location unless you want to be stressed out and inconvenienced. My man and I came here today to come and grab some quick In-N-Out that was close to the house, BUT the food was not a problem. The problem was the way that they have the parking lot set up to go into the drive thru line. As we pulled up to the line, the man that was directing the traffic line pointed across the other side of the parking lot and then didn't instruct anything else and walked away. We were puzzled, and started to drive that way, until it clicked that maybe he just thought they we were just passing through and didn't want to enter the drive through and he didn't want us to get mixed up in the drive thru line. We circled back and I told him that we wanted to go into the drive thru line not the dining room, and he told us that we had to come in into ANOTHER entrance in the parking lot to enter the line. I told him that we shouldn't have to enter in on the other side of the parking lot just to get in line, and that we were right here, and that we were ready to get in line earlier and he misdirected us. This was very upsetting, because it is not our fault he didn't know what he was doing. He finally called over another guy that explained it better and said that the line started over by the SaveMart parking lot. That would have been nice to know before. The other guy that was standing out right when you enter into the parking lot, didn't say anything to us or direct us to when we started to head to the drive thru line, and there was no signs indicating that either. They need a better way of communicating that to their customers and not make it seem like their fault. It was very inconsiderate of that man to not even explain it to us correctly, and they should have accommodated to the inconvenience. The "park patrol" also acts like I'm too stupid to know that when a car pulls up, I probably should too so the people behind can follow, because as SOON as car would move up, they would immediately run in front of my car and tell us to move up. Can't move up when you're standing right in front of my vehicle buddy.. I really hope that man that wasn't doing his job correctly gets disciplined, because I'm sure I wasn't the only one he confused that day. That was one of the worst drive thru experiences I've ever had, and makes me not want to come back. It is supposed to be a fast and convenient way to get food. Not stressful. I've visited this new In-N-Out location twice since it's opened, and it's been consistent in its quality of swiftness, polish, friendliness. The most I've waited was about 3 minutes, and my order of a burger and Animal Fries were presented and made in amazing quality. There were also a lot of employees present, as it was mostly to combat with the lengthy drive thru line. Which isn't part of the restaurant's fault, despite what one, frankly, idiotic user posted in their review. The restaurant isn't responsible if customers decide to wait in a longer line, while knowing the positive and negative consequences. Furthermore, this location has only been open for about a week and a half, and is still considered new. In conclusion, this new In-N-Out is very well managed in its quality of food, cleanliness, and social interactions. I will continue to visit this restaurant for the convenience and tastiness of their food. read more
