Went in today for the Friday the 13th special with my boyfriend and we got there at 5:01pm and signed in but weren't helped until 7pm. We thought about leaving but I had my heart set on the tattoo. The "boss" let others go before us, and those people came in after us. We sat right in front so they would notice we were waiting. It's like signing in didn't do anything because we got there before the people that were helped. My boyfriend and I have been tatted there on multiple occasions but I think I will take my business else where. In the end, the small $31 tattoo was not worth the 2 hour wait like I hoped. done yesterday, I'm very satisfied with my new tattoo it's very personal to me, my friends even want to copy me now, went here after reading the other yelp reviews and having walked passed this place a few times noticing the beautiful mural, - I called and got my first tattoo done the same day after texting with AnthonyWayne he photoshopped, sketched together, and took time to create a great idea of two specific plants I wanted I recommend this place even if it's your first - took a couple hours - price isn't bad - pain wasn't that bad, you get over it, it's worth it, at times it actually feels good ( almost fell asleep sometimes), ( you should probably eat before you go, I didn't oops) minimal to no pain after btw ( I say I have a medium pain tolerance idk I like pain at times) - in my head I wanted to get some small girly flowers but after he drew it out, I trusted the process and him, love his idea more it's bigger and better - it's on me forever and looks good to me! :) read more

I got my plugs done here, a few years ago. "Joser" hooked it up, thanks to my boy Big Mike. Unfortunately, they're no longer here, they've gone on to do their own thing. This is the shop that used to be right at the corner of Colorado Blvd and El Molino Ave down in the playhouse district. They've been up here in their current location for almost 10 years or so. Since my boys are no longer here, I don't come by anymore. I also took my plugs out, I got over them real quick. Since I never went past the first gauge, I don't have the pieces of hanging earlobe, it just looks like I have regular piercing holes. Just like I like it. Alrato! read more

I got a tattoo with this shop in 2001, with an artist who I think may have left a while ago (Maya or Maia?), at their old location on Colorado, but that tattoo is absolutely perfect to this day. No bleeding or fading or any signs that the job she did was anything but spectacular. I brought a friend here for a tattoo a few years later, after they had moved to Lake, and he liked it as well. The artist he had was excellent and paid great attention to the instruction my friend gave. Then some guy came in who was a friend of someone who worked there, and to prove that he was tough and muscle-y, he picked me up off the chair I was sitting on, and lifted me as though I were a barbell. This was not an excellent experience for me, but I imagine it does not happen to everyone who goes there. Overall, I think this is the best place in Pasadena to get a tattoo. I would, without hesitation, send any of my friends here, based on the great experiences I've had with very professional staff and a fun experience. read more

Came here a couple of weeks ago with my mom and brother for her birthday. We treated her to her first tattoo at 64 years old! All three of us got our family crest in different places. Buddy worked on my mom, I want to say Andy? worked on my brother and Maya did mine. All three of them were AWESOME! We were very impressed with how they took their time, they didn't rush although yes we were "those people" that came in not too long before they were supposed to close. The place is very clean, everything just feels sterile. Even while we were getting our work done we saw a guy going around cleaning and wiping everything down. Even the restrooms were spotless. I LOVED Maya! I can't stop checking out her work it looks sooooo awesome perfect shading, I love everything about it. She was super sweet too!!! Went back today to let Buddy check out how my moms is healing up since we were in the area. Now that I have the awesome new work on my left arm, the old tattoo I have on my right arm that I didn't take care of the way I should looked like crap in comparison. We were leaving and I made a comment to my mom that I wished Maya was there to touch it up and she says why not just have Buddy do it were already here! Good point mom! So again last minute right before they closed (sorry guys!) I asked Buddy if it was cool and he was totally down. He even added shading that wasn't there before, touched up and added a new color. By the time he was done the difference was night and day. Even though it was just a touch up I feel like I got a brand new tattoo and I LOVE it!!! These guys know what they are doing, we felt right at home, and we will be back! read more

Aww. These guys are sweethearts. I was driving around the other day with an urge to get a piercing. I stumbled upon this place, and said to myself, Hey, why not? Went in, and this guy Andrew took care of me. He's really nice, And hes got some gorgeous eyes. (Sorry, it had to be said) Anyhow, my lip piercing costed 35 dollars including jewelery, which is a pretty badass price. They sterilize everything in front of you, and Andrew was talking to me, keeping me calm. (Not like I was nervous or anything..) And he was really gentle. Well, as gentle as you can be when you're stabbing somebody with a 3 inch needle. My piercing is healing, I'm super satisfied. My two favorite artists are Louie and Buddy: They are both creative and awesome. The prices are fair and they are always willing to work with the customer on designs and ideas. This is the place to come if you want to get your work done without all the bullshit posing and posturing that often accompanies going to a tattoo studio these days. HIGHLY RECOMENDED FOR PIERCING I love this place. Extremely clean and professional and a very laid-back vibe. This review is about the Piercing. I have been pierced here twice: nostril and navel. The piercer is a super nice guy, makes you feel very relaxed, and is great at what he does. The price is a little more expensive but it's well worth the experience. He's very clean. There is a separate piercing room and he uses new tools gloves and sanitizes everything before during and after. He's done before you can feel it and you can tell he's been doing this a very long time. His piercings heal quicker than other places I've been and he's very helpful and knowledgeable. He was there the first time I went in when i was in 9th grade and he's still there and im a sophomore in college. Super clean, helpful, and relaxed. I always leave feeling relieved, which is worth the couple extra bucks and drive to Pasadena for me. I've been to other shops for some spur of the moment piercing or because they were cheaper and closer but i often left doubting the cleanliness, with a sore piercing, or just wishing something were better about the experience. read more

It's been almost two years since my last tattoo. I used to go to a guy pretty regularly in Las Vegas, when I still lived there, and I was overwhelmed by the various options all over the city. I ended up choosing this shop, because it's close to my house and rated highly. I can say that I am not even close to disappointed. I came into the shop yesterday with a few reference images and some text, and Maya took that vision and ran with it. She charged me a very reasonable price for the size and made sure I felt comfortable. She was very thorough in her after care instructions and asked me to come back in a few weeks to make sure no touch ups were needed. After reading reviews on Yelp about this place and it's reputation with piercings, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is really laid back and chill, and I felt comfortable right away. I wanted to get my belly button pierced, and asked a lot of questions and was greeted with kind and helpful answers. None of the guys sounded condescending at all. Andrew was my piercer and I recommend him HIGHLY (he also has done some pretty amazing tattoo work, for those who were wondering). The Skin has a separate room for piercing, and everything, I mean everything, was clean, sterile, and extremely professional. Andrew showed me what the piercing process was going to be like so I was familiar with everything when we started. He made sure I was comfortable with the placement before we started, and the process couldn't have lasted more than 10 minutes. It cost me $50 (including the jewelry) and I find that to be an incredible price--I was prepared to pay around $80. The healing process is going great so far. Nothing is swollen or red and it barely hurts at all. Maybe I'm lucky in that regard, but I'm going to attribute most of that to Andrew. Thank you so, SO much!
