I honestly don't understand how this Company is so highly rated. I called them to see if I could schedule an appointment for a naval piercing. The guy on the phone told me that I didn't need to schedule an appointment, but to just come in as a Walk In and they would pierce me right away. I drive to the business and when I enter inside, everyone just looks up at me like they've never seen a Black person before. They don't say anything. Finally a guy that was tattooing someone asked me what I wanted. I told him that I wanted to get pierced and he just starts shaking his head and tells me that he's completely booked, make an appointment and to come back tomorrow. I told him that I tried to make an appointment but was told to come in. He, not believing me, asked who I talked to on the phone. The entire time he has an attitude and I could tell that I would not be comfortable at all being pierced in this place so I just walked out of the door and left. Do not go here!! Went to Tattoo Love in Eagle Rock instead. They were so welcoming, more professional, and cheaper! read more

I got some knuckle tattoos some years ago from here: a DTP logo, headphones, a skull logo and a religious symbol. These pieces had very delicate line work, some areas needing very thin lines and others gradating to a larger width. They did it perfectly, I couldn't ask for a better result and commendations. The day I got my pieces done I had completely forgotten that I had lost my wallet, and only realized after the fact. Past my embarrassment, the studio worked with me and, with some collateral involved, allowed me to pay within a few days of getting a new card! I am very thankful for that. Just got my first piercing ever at 22 after taking a long time to research the best method. I wanted a small hole with a hypodermic sterile needle and not a gun. Most shops I called would only do a 16-14 gage but here they could do 20. I was also able to bring in my own jewelry. I was out at ease and the process was done quickly and evenly. The needle used was prepackaged and my jewelry pre-sterilized. It barely hurt. The pricing was really good as well. Be sure to give a cash tip! read more

Had a small shoulder piece done by Buddy a while back- went great, looks great, based on that came back. Eventually sat for Alex on a half-sleeve that he designed, and it looks beautiful. Only they lost my business today based on Alex's intolerable attitude. During the first round, the needle found an intensely agonizing spot. For the next round, I asked Alex to steer clear. It's a spot the size of a dime alongside the edge of the much-larger design. No problem for me, the line work held up on its own. It was a problem for Alex. "It's like you're telling me I don't know what I'm doing, man!" I had to talk him down and remind him it was MY arm before he continued with the session. Waiting for the touch-up took forever, my arm was taking it's time healing. In January, he said to come back in April. Keep using the antibacterial soap and lotion until it cleans up, then give it a while to let the patchy redness fade. By chance I ran into Alex in February at a grocery store, and he had a look. All cleaned up, still some redness. I explained that I'd switched to normal shower soap, and right there in the store he starts going off on me. "No, you're supposed to use the antibacterial soap always! This should be healing faster but you're not taking care of it!" So, fine. back to the antibacterial soap. My arm starts doing this constant breakout thing in the patchy spots, for weeks. But ok, I'm following instructions and the redness is fading as the breakouts run their course. Finally today the arm is as settled down as it's been in months and I go in for the touch-up. "What do you mean, you're still using that antibacterial soap? No! That was just for while it was healing! Why won't you follow my instructions? You need to just leave it alone!" A little more of that and I walked out. I'd sooner have another shop entirely clean up his work than sit in there listening to his garbage. He did great work. I would've loved for him to put his finishing touches on it. But I've paid enough already for his arrogance, short memory, and bad manners. read more

I have been coming to Buddy for about 4 years now to get all of my work and he always does an excellent job! Went in today to get my most recent piece finished up. All of the artists there are very talented and I always have a good time and good conversations while I am there. Very sterile! I also like that they always check ID's no matter what you are having done (unlike some shops where obvious minors are getting inked and pierced) they have a small parking lot in the back which is very convenient and a soda machine inside too! Most importantly all of my work buddy has done stays looking practically brand new and I am always getting complimented on all of them! My chest piece was designed by Andrew and tatted by buddy and the line work is perfect. They are very professional and use quality ink and needles. If you want a good tattoo come here! Do not come here. Only reason they got one Star is cuz there's no option for zero stars. Somehow I got referred to this place and I don't know why. Sure the inside looks just fine but I wanted a watercolor piece done and the artist had to draw an outline in gray wash. Why? Not sure since it was water color and free hand would make it look natural. He told me the gray wash would fade in a week. It's been a month and healing process is done (for the most part) and there is no sign of fading at all. Went to another tattoo shop and they laughed saying he did it too dark. Should've done my research cuz now I have to get it fixed. Will not name artist cuz he was somewhat cool but it started with an A. Do not come here. read more

In the skin has a great set-up of a parlor. Pooooor selection of jewelry. But friend wanted her nose pierced, i took her here. Bald guy at the counter was unpleasant the whole time with her. He answered her questions in a very condescending manner. Most importantly, he used a ridiculous amount of Vaseline to get the piercing in and did not clean the back of the area he was using. Overall, I would not get a piercing here unless you are in the area and got the sudden itch to mindlessly get a piercing done by this guy. I can only imagine how they are when they tattoo. read more

The artists are all amazing and every time I am amazed at the quality of the work I end up walking out with. These guys are awesome. Clean environment, professional, reasonably priced, and (most importantly) talented. Andy tattooed a very large flower on my upper calf in four hours, another on my lower calf in three hours. He works very quickly, and he's also light-handed which is nice to have in an artist. He likes to see his work when it is finished and ensure that it doesn't need any touch-ups (which he provides if he deems necessary). The shop always keeps Netflix going to pass the time and their sense of humor is pretty fantastic. Maya is hilarious and fantastic to hold a conversation with. As a first timer into the studios and a first tattoo from here, i was introduced by a guy named Anthony. It was exciting to get the first tattoo in this studio. As i progressed into actually getting inked he would tell me stories and the process of inking and how the career isn't as lucrative as it is only popularized by media nowadays. He was always attentive to my needs and making sure i was alright.
