I've visited about four times now, and each trip just reminds me why I don't come back more often: while the men on the team offer fantastic service, the women working there consistently lack warmth, smiles, or basic hospitality the moment you walk through the door. The Good: The guy who did my manicure is amazing--super nice, friendly, and did a great job on my nails. The woman who handled my pedicure was also wonderful, and her work was top-notch. The Not-So-Good: The nail tech doing my design, however, didn't even bother to say hello. Throughout the service, she never asked how I was doing or checked if everything looked okay. My cuticles were left looking really rough, and she skipped the basic courtesy of applying any oil or lotion at the end. In fact, it was so bad that I ultimately asked her to skip the design on my ring fingers because I didn't want to draw any more attention to it. Ironically, my pedicure technician was the one who noticed how dry my hands looked and kindly handed me some oil. To top it off, when the tech finishing my nails was done, she didn't even say thank you. The Verdict: At $130 for a Gel-X set, the baseline expectation is that your cuticles will look presentable and you'll receive basic courtesy. If you go here, hope you get seated with one of the male technicians who actually cares about the client experience!

That was around the time when the nail tech walked over to me for the first time to ask if I had chosen a color, not when my feet were in the water or when I was receiving the service, as I stated. She also walked away after the initial contact and returned a couple times, throwing supplies on her cart before proceeding. Regardless of that, my Zelle payment for tip was also confirmed at 6:54pm. So I do want to acknowledge that my time there was about an hour and a half total from my arrival/ appointment time. There was also not a "light residue" of the scrub left, there was literal exfoliating pieces/ beads and cream that I was able to scrape off my leg with my fingernail. There is no need to note my preferences as I will not be going back. If I had known that later appointments were known to be thrown off schedule, I would've just showed up late so I didn't have to wait. There was no update or follow up. While I understand it is the business owners responsibility to ensure all reviews are accurate, the repeated attempt to disprove what I stated was unnecessary when the issue still stands: my appointment time was not honored, i had literal pieces of scrub and gel on my leg, and someone used a cuticle cutter to PULL pieces of my toenail off without asking me. I understand these services are a luxury; I would not come in expecting to be waited on but I do expect basic communication and respect. The service and response were both disappointing.

It was my first experience having my nails done in a small space rented out in a larger salon, and it felt much more personalised, almost like a private space. I don't think I'll ever get a manicure done again in one of those headache-inducing "assembly-line" style nail salons that stink of acrylic primer. I got a custom-mixed colour as close as possible to Chanel's Rouge Noir, nails lacquered like Billie Holiday used to wear...a version of the 1930s manicure with the moons left open, except painted like a V. They came out perfect. At the two and a half week mark they still looked great...I would have let them keep going a bit longer but I broke a thumbnail (that keeps breaking in the same spot for the last few years...such a bummer) down to the quick. I had ZERO issues with these...no lifting or peeling, like can sometimes happen with gel polish. Work is outstanding. Prices are more than fair. Janet's awesome. I'll be back!! I wanted her to take creative freedom to do what she thought was good for my nails in the budget I had and I love the results. It was easy to setup an appointment by text. I love the shape of my nails! I got the gel manicure ($65) and 4 of my nails have glittery/sparkle flecks that were individually added. There were so many sparkles and glitter options. Mine has an oyster shell appearance and is really fun to look at. The process took 45 minutes but passed so quickly because there was a TV for me to watch Netflix. I ended The bad: It's $8 per nail for an embellishment so it can get pretty pricey. It makes sense with how much meticulous care goes into each nail and how each fleck of gold and glitter was placed. I probably cant get these nails too often due to cost but it was definitely worth pampering myself with some self-care for a special occasion! The interesting: I ended up watching Love is Blind's reunion even though I didn't see any episode from that season. This is the 1st nail salon I've been to with individual private rooms. I know it takes around 3-6 sessions to start seeing changes skin texture wise and fine lines wise since they usually are immediate with the glow factor, but my skin has definitely been feeling a lot healthier and taken care of since then. I have my first post facial photo a day or two after treatment from December (pink shirt and fresh fluffy hair) and this week's facial photo which was taken after 1 week from treatment (outdoor exercise sweaty hair ew). The difference from these two is very subtle, but I can definitely see more glow. To be frank, it's almost unnoticeable from these two pictures, but my face feels great. The fact that the glow is still visible after doing a whole mile in the sun and wiping my face with my shirt or my bare hand is impressive. It's like a moisturizer I can't rub off. So dewy! Now, my skin is sensitive, so on my most recent one I unfortunately got a lil pimple by my nose. I had really dry skin coming for the 3rd facial so Ayumi did her best to rehydrate the dull, but my skin juuuust had to act up. The moment I told Ayumi what happened she called me back in to have a quick "soothing" treatment for that pesky lil' pimple and she definitely made sure to address the minor sebum build up issue from the possible irritation that happened. The fact that she even called me in to address it was very thoughtful and I can tell Ayumi is very genuine. I honestly look forward to coming back to her every month. The massage and the hot stones during the facial feel soooo nice. I feel so relaxed every time I come here--especially after long 12 hour work shifts and nursing school clinicals/classes. I decided to treat myself with a fancy mani and Tammy made my nails look so cute. We were initially going to try to add fake nails to my real nails but she picked up my subtle unease and hesitation with them so we decided to forego and not use any fake nails at all.
