SO YUMMY !!! nothing fancy here, it's Peruvian buffet located in a strip mall... but yo.... Definitely coming back.. The woman working was very nice & sweet, too!

Food was not fresh. Sure it's prepared and ready for your to go but not sure how longs it's been sitting there. It isn't until food runs out for them to make a fresh batch. Honestly not my favorite. You're better off going to pollo inka and buying 1 dish for the same price.

A classic Buffett with good variety of Peruvian food such as ceviche, mondonguito italiano, etc.

This is a hard one to review. What attracted me to try it was being a all you can eat buffet! They have a large selection of food... soups, entrees, desserts and fruits. Pretty impressive. Sadly, the quality and the taste was basic. If you are not familiar with the Peruvian flair, you'll be happy with the selection. It tasted better than what I would make which is not saying much because I do not cook. Service was great, the server was very kind and kept the tables free of dishes quickly. The cook would come out to check what she needed to bring out often so it was well stocked. I am reviewing this place according to the selection, taste service and price.

I came here yesterday evening for my grandpas 85th birthday. As a Peruvian family it's always nice to have this many options for food choices. The service was great, they were nice to setup the tables, accommodate a big party, & still get us everything we needed in a timely manner. We even got complimentary wine from a party next to us! The ambiance was amazing, the staff, our family, & even strangers always had a smile & it felt genuine. The food was great & I recommend this place for people who want a large variety of Peruvian food! Will come here again!

    Scraps of food

Asked for a seco de carne and got this two bits of meat on a huge bed of rice with some beans. This is a disgrace to call this a dish of any kind. Why sell to go food at a buffet if you're gonna give out scraps like this while charging top dollar.

My partner took me and my family here to eat today and it was great. There was a wide variety of food and everything tasted great. I was pleasantly surprised with this buffet. The service was fantastic! The servers greeted us and seated us right away. They came to check on us multiple times. The restaurant plays Peruvian music in the background and it's nice and tranquil. The parking is good. The prices are good, as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Lomo Saltado

Lomo Saltado is ok. Buffet is $19.99 during weekends Great meal in a budget I love their fried sweet bananas, budin. Servers are nice too

Update: After revisiting #1 Buffet in 2026 after a long hiatus, I think I've been back about 5…read moretimes as a testament to the consistency in quality after frequency in visits. The price is right at $20 for dinner and $10 for young elementary school aged children. I recommend the dinner menu because for a few dollars more than lunch, they add crab, beef ribs and black pepper steak cubes which are my favorite 3 higher end quality entrees that if anyone were to go to a standard restaurant, they'd pay a lot more for access to those courses. The service is self service, AYCE Buffet (steam tray style) for the most part but the staff adds support. Parking is easy. I debate with friends of China Buffet vs Ichiban Buffet vs a#1 Buffet and which is best... I've continually told them My ranking is #1 Buffet at the top, followed by Ichiban, then China Buffet dipped as the lesser of the 3 ever since they stopped offering roast duck and snow crab legs (which had been over a decade ago) at their buffet. So, #1 Buffet has earned my favorite status based on price, selection and quality but factoring in parking and location too.

Due to limited selection, I find myself grabbing stuff I would normally pass at other buffets…read more What needs improvement: Many items are overcooked or not taste fresh. Fried rice is dry. Food is warm not hot. Seafood is a bit more fishy than other buffets. The small letter-size price list is posted where it's not easy to see. Redeeming quality: Friendly employees and manager. I like that they have papaya in the fresh fruit section. Add that to my ice cream then top with chopped peanuts for a delicious dessert. Chinese music playing in the background along with the outdated interior makes me a bit nostalgic.

The employee at the front provided me some samples to taste before I made a decision and she got me hooked! I walked in wanting a two combo plate, but after sampling the pork sisig, adobo chicken, and the breakfast sausage, I had to make it a three combo (ended up with a lot of food leftover). Personally, I really enjoyed the pork sisig: it was juicy and packed a whole bunch of flavor, especially from the vinegar which canceled out the greasiness. The sausage was surprisingly really good, not too sweet and had a nice garlicky flavor. It'd pair well with a bowl of hot rice and a fried egg in the morning. I got a sample of a soup (can't remember the name), but it had a nice sour taste to it as well (not overly sour though). I definitely will come back again if I am in the area for the pork sisig and the service!

Not enough handicap parking available in front of the restaurant. Waitress does not explain menu when seated. Tables are absolutely cramped. Nature of the business requires many of the staff members to move around and our chairs were being touched every five minutes for the first half of the meal. Once that was over we were waiting for 15-20 minutes for them to bring out the meat. We gave up eventually and asked for check. Of course that took them more than 20min, I ended up walking to the counter. Dessert were asked to be Togo and it was just thrown into containers and could not recognize what it was when we opened it . Table cleaners get sprayed right next to us when other guests left and I could feel the cleaning spay landing on my hand. Had to trash food... Not sure why it can be applied closer to the table or even on the towel. Fruit flies were hanging out at the salad bar, I had to inform the staff but bar foods didn't get swapped out when I went back to it. Worst experience, not worth the price. It felt like over priced market place. There are far better choices and service around el Segundo.
