Fresh coffee, good service, the second time the even accommodated me and brought a table outside so I could sit there with my dog I had Pan con chicharron, it's a big sandwich, like a mini baguette, good flavor, the green sauce brings up more flavor I had tamales, not like the ones my Dad used to get from Supe but best tamales I've had in a long time. They have various dishes as well as a buffet in the middle of the restaurant. But my bestie and I came for one thing and that was the pan con chicharrón. We ordered two sandwiches and two maracuya drinks. After waiting about 15 mins they were ready. I didn't know what to expect but it was a Bolio( white bread) with fried pork belly, sweet potato, and onions accompanied by a red sauce and a green sauce. This is a hard one to review. What attracted me to try it was being a all you can eat buffet! They have a large selection of food... soups, entrees, desserts and fruits. Pretty impressive. Sadly, the quality and the taste was basic. If you are not familiar with the Peruvian flair, you'll be happy with the selection. This place is true embarrassment to our Peruvian gastronomy. I went to this place to try and came out disgusted and with a stomach ache. The cooks must be from any part of the world except from Peru. This is a real disappointment! The "ceviche" if you can call it ceviche tasted and looked like a cork. The papa la huancaina seemed it had water instead of milk and cheese and the rest of the food if you can call it food seemed it was soaked in plain water and reheated many hours ago. For the main dishes they only use cheap chicken legs, undercooked and bloody inside. The spaghetti is cooked with just plain water without any taste. Later they put any basic sauce to the spaghetti either red or green just to pretend is a quality dish. Sadly, this place is leaving our beloved Peru very bad. Unfortunately this was a bad experience. After 45 mins of driving hoping it would be a good experience for me and my family, I am sad to say it wasn't. We arrived at 4:30pm and it was set to close at 7:30pm. We were instructed to pay first and were then seated. Once we were ready to eat we noticed that a lot of trays of food were empty and figured they were going to make more, only to come to the realization that they had stopped cooking 3+ hrs before closing time. The food that we did get to try was bland, lacked flavor, and was cold. I am really sad to say, but this was a really bad experience. I wish things would have been better. The location as cleanliness was poor and multiple silverware were dirty, so you had to be careful. My recommendation is for them to make people aware of the foods they have ran out of prior to accepting payment and to be honest as how long was food going to be available for. When we spoke with the owner he apologized and mentioned that he would make a batch of a dish we were interested in but never did. We waited for him for over 40 mins to find that he was lying to us. It makes me sad to write this since I have known the owner for several years ever since he had his restaurant in Westminster, but I feel that it is important to bring awareness to others. read more

Inca Gourmet Restaurant is a fun place to get a good variety of Peruvian food! It's an AYCE restaurant that charges $7 for kids and $12 for adults. You sure do get your money's worth at this place. There are literally 35+ dishes at this restaurant, and I can guarantee you that you will find something that you will enjoy! I haven't been exposed to a lot of Peruvian food, so I decided to make this a great eating experience. I grabbed a little of (~1-2 Tablespoons) each dish that they offered here. Glad I did because I got to taste so many different flavors and spices! Super fun. I apologize upfront for not knowing the official names of these dishes, but I've described them below so that the western palate would know what I'm talking about. At the top of my list were the following five dishes: 1. Peruvian Fish Ceviche. I couldn't get a clear understanding of what kind of fish was used in this dish (it was either snapper or swai). Nice chunks of 3/4" x 3/4" pieces of white fish marinated slightly in a tangy lime sauce and combined with generous slices of red onions. It was so delicious, I ate three servings of this! 2. Tripe. There were very thinly slices of beef tripe cooked until it was tender in a tomato broth and added green peas. Loved the chew of the tripe and the tenderness of the broth! 3. Lamb Stew. Pieces of lamb neck and ribs were cooked into a green stew-like dish. The lamb was very gamey (YUM!) and this dish tasted like it was cooked for hours. Fall of the bone tender. Tasted a bit like Pakistani / Indian curry lamb. 4. Rice Pudding with Blue Corn Pudding. Rice pudding was delicious, because it tasted like horchata. On the side, it was served with a red paste that looked like cherry pie filling. One of the customers told me that it was made of blue corn. It tasted a bit like boysenberry filling. Fun to eat. 5. Fish Soup. There was a delicous hot soup made with rice, peas, and white fish. Made with a bit of a tomato broth. It was delicious, and I added a splash of white rice to it. What I liked best about the restaurant is that there are so many different dishes to choose from. I got quickly educated on the Peruvian food culture at this restaurant. Best of all were the clientele in this restaurant! No pretentious people here! Only friends and families. There were families, buddies hanging out, single workers, etc. Everyone was super friendly. A couple of people even saw that I looked a bit puzzled at the buffet tables, so they explained what the dishes were to me (i.e., the blue corn pudding), another customer asked how I liked the ceviche and suggested that I got more to eat (which I did). Oh Inca Gourmet I am disappointed. I came here on a Saturday for lunch and was expecting a nice meal but instead found myself wishing I went somewhere else. I came here right when it opened and I even remember thinking it would be good thing because the food would most likely be brand new, fresh and hot right from the kitchen. Boy was I wrong. There wasn't anyone else there except for my party and a couple of the restaurant workers who were eating. There was plenty of food in the buffet but they were all cold. I had this weird feeling that they were left overs from the day before. The rice with chicken is the perfect example of this. The tray was pretty full but then when we went to eat it, the rice was hard and it was cold. It was definitely not fresh from the kitchen. The bread at the buffet table was cold and dry as well. Even the frozen yogurt was not really frozen - it was very "milky." Not only was the food not warm, taste wise it was just mediocre. I've tried several Peruvian places before and they've always been pretty tasty. The meatballs and chow mein were salty here. The green spaghetti and the plantains were bland. The only thing I sorta liked was the vegetarian egg rolls, the crispy wontons and the shortbread cookies - eek which are not typical Peruvian food. Though they had plenty of items there were a lot of unrecognizable items. They had labels for some of the items but not all. I'm all for trying new things but I do wish they would have some of the more common Peruvian dishes. This place didn't even have the crowd favorite of Lomo Saltado. Ahh that is a Peruvian staple - so sad they didn't have it here. I give this place credit for their OK and quick service and for trying to serve plenty of food. The western wall also has a long steam table and a soft serve ce cream machine. There are plenty of tables and they are able to accommodate large groups. There is a buffet available most nights, though the hours of the buffet vary. Every weekend, there is a line to get into the place. Everyone orders the buffet, if it is available. The buffet has something for everybody. There are salads, stews, rice, beans, pasta, fried foods, ceviche, begetables, breads, sauces, desserts, grilled meats and chicken. They even come around to your table with meats that came straight off the grill. Try the beef hearts-YES-they are incredible and not as horrifying as you might think. The menu features made-to-order food. Everything I've ever ordered off the menu has been excellent. I highly recommend the milanesa de pollo (fried breaded chicken breast). It is served piping hot and juicy. The breading is seasoned, similiar to KFC, when it was still good. They also have this milanesa with basil spaghetti. Tasty and filling. Papa a la huancana is a good appetizer. Think potato salad with a little tumeric and cheese. Peruvians don't mess around with potatos. They know how to do them up right. Fries here are an experience. The feature the typical Peruvian drinks like chicha morada (a fruit juice and corn drink) and Inka Kola (much like cream soda). Whatever you do, menu or buffet, you'll leave full. My sister and I have gone and ordered from the buffet and they even gave us styrofoam trays to take food home, because they didn't want to throw it away. Oh, and the buffet is only like $10!
