My cousin has a gluten free allergy and, she wanted the crabby fried rice and, he went above and beyond to find out if she could order it and, she was able too. Now that is A-1 customer service if you truly ask me. Food~I ordered head on shrimp and mussels with garlic butter and lemon pepper sauce it was very divine, piping hot, and it was very flavorful! Ambience~The music was playing at ear level but, you were able to hold a conversation among each other if you want. Knowing how popular this place can get, we decided to arrive right at 5 p.m. when they opened to ensure we'd get a seat. Our waiter, Elijah, made the experience exceptional. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and had a fantastic sense of humor that made the evening even more enjoyable. Elijah walked us through the ordering process, offered great recommendations, and helped us navigate the menu with ease. Following his suggestions, I ordered a feast of snow crab, shrimp, sausage, and corn, all seasoned with the "Whole Shabang" seasoning in a mild heat level. The seasoning was a perfect blend of all three flavors, offering a delightful kick without overwhelming the taste buds. I also had a side of rice, which was a great addition to soak up all the delicious flavors. A heads-up: some items are market-priced, so it's wise to ask about pricing before you order. Thursday 07/02 , 8pm Came in and waited approximately 10 minutes for a table to be seated. After being seated. Staff proceeded to clean up other tables without acknowledging or checking on us or even taking drink order. A couple came and were seated next to us about ten minutes after. And then another table as well. Still no acknowledgment from staff. The waitress came and helped the two tables next to us and began walking away before turning over her shoulder to ask if we were ready. We kindly declined and left. Me and my Mom were craving our boil fix and this place did just the job. Let me tell you that these crab legs were so meaty and juicy. The shrimp also was on point. Although you can have them peeled for a bit extra just don't do it. I've had them both ways and the flavor is not the same for when you order them peeled. I highly recommend the combo #2 with the crab shack style seasoning. The only complaint I have is the establishment itself was a bit hotter than outside. But other than that the food was delicioso! What a mistake. Was told by the other Crab Shack in Gardena to go to this location because they were closing early due to a scheduled black out. I went with my fiancé and friend to catch up. We arrived at about 6:30. We didn't leave until 8:45 at night. I did not care for this restaurant because the service was horrible. I understand if you are understaffed, but if an employee is telling you (the manager) that something was wrong with a tables order you go to the table to remedy the situation. Not let the table wait for an hour after everything for them to go find you. Same goes for the servers they should've taken payment at the table not me having to go find someone to pay for my meal. We had order 2 rounds and it took forever to get a waiters attention to receive my second round. Never was checked on until we had to flag someone who wasn't our server down to get more food. I don't like that our server went to every other table except ours. The restaurant was nice, but would rather have gone home than come to this location. I like The Crab Shack because they have decent prices and nice portions compared to other seafood restaurants. Flavor is always good, just the service needs to be improved immensely. read more

I've been here once before prior to this visit but I don't remember it being that good so I never went back. This time around I will definitely remember because it is that good. We went to their Gardena location off of Artesia. Service was great, our waitress was really nice. The winner here for me was the seafood boil itself. We got the $89 combo with shrimp (head on always) and mussels. The 2nd winner here was garlic noodles. They make there's with smoked sausage, so good. This is my go to spot for Cajun shrimp & crab! I usually go to the other location on Redondo blvd, but appreciate this one closed later. Service here was great, we were sat quickly, wasn't too long of a waitlist. Or servers kept coming to check on us, which I love because sometimes you need extra utensils or something and your hands are a mess and you don't want to have to walk to the counter like I have at the other location because they don't follow up as much. I usually get plain fries, but this time I decided to try to Cajun fries- it's Cajun powder on the fries. They were good. We ordered the #1 combo. Craw fish, shrimp and mussels. Medium spicy crab shack style. The spice level was definitely medium! My nose was running, but so worth it. The mussels had a great flavor and the shrimp never fails! It was cooked perfectly too, not over done where it becomes rubbery. The crawfish weren't my favorite, but that's in general. It doesn't speak to the restaurant. This place is usually great, which is why my brothers and I came tonight, Sunday, when the restaurant usually closes 30 minutes later than on the weekdays. We walked in at 9:15PM and were told that the restaurant was closed. I told the server, "doesn't the restaurant close at 10PM tonight?" I also pointed at the business hours on the door. She told me that the kitchen closes by 10PM and that the kitchen was already cleaned. So we left. One of our favorite Cajun seafood place. We love getting combo of shrimp, clams and mussel with the house special sauce on medium heat. The combination comes with corn and sausages. I ordered 2 lbs of shrimp and 2 lbs of clams with extra sauce. However, there was actually less sauce than a regular order. Why did I pay extra for this? I also ordered one spicy and one medium, but neither had any noticeable spice at all. With so little sauce, the seafood was plain, especially since I don't eat or suck on the shells of shrimp or clams. The shrimp didn't feel fresh--it was hard to peel, and the texture was mushy. The clams still had pebbles in them, meaning they weren't properly cleaned. At one point, I just stopped eating them. My boyfriend (who has stronger teeth ) finished them instead. I've always seen/heard of this chain but never been because I always thought nothing could compare to boiling crab. I was really craving shrimp and gave this place a try (I didn't know they had a location here. I've always seen the one in tozai plaza). We got 3lbs of shrimp ($55) to go and when we ate at home I was really shocked at how good it still tasted. The shrimp wasn't overcooked and there was a lot of sauce. Market price right now for shrimp was 16.99. From reading the reviews I didn't realize they have combos..when we picked it up at the restaurant I didn't see that menu. read more

I called in advance to see if they would be able to accommodate my allergy to shrimp and they advised they would be able to over the phone. I have gone to boiling crab and they were super nice about my allergies and were able to boil the crab in a separate area and I had no problem. When I got to the crab shack thinking it would be the same and once again I called in advanced and they said they would offer the same I sat and when I went to order and advise my allergy they said they wouldn't be able to help. And that everything is boiled together.... I came with my whole family and now unable to eat. I know it sounds stupid to come to a place like this with an allergy but since I had gone to Boiling crab and they were able to be very accommodating and I was able to eat my crab in peace and had no reaction the 3 times I been there I thought it would be the same. Also the manager at boiling crab came out to reassure me that it would be ok and at The Crab Shack no manager came out to explain the situation. For obvious reasons I will not be back the service is not that great they took forever to seat my family it wasn't busy at all. Pretty sad over all. Very disappointing I was served cold day old crab cakes on a beautiful asian style coleslaw that was absolutely beautiful a very skimpy serving with a vinaigrette that was delicious and a small order french fries, which was huge and delicious.
