We got; -fish ceviche (7/10); the ceviche was served with potato and sweet potato which was really different from other ceviches I've gotten. It was very zesty and good, but my boyfriend thought it was too salty at the bottom/near the end -chicken causa (8/10); this was stellar! it was mashed potato with chicken and avocado in the middle. they also served it with a side of eggs. I've never had anything like it & it was very savory yet fresh. it's even better with some of the green hot sauce they provide. -shrimp dish (7/10); came with rice and fried plantains. it was solid, I liked the sauce it came in, but nothing to particularly rave about. -Bandeja paisa (8/10); amazing portion, came with rice, beans, avocado, fried egg, fried pork belly, salad, sausage, and sweet plantains. My sister ordered this and had more than enough to share because of how generous the portion was. Fourth time visiting and still disappointed. The food is decent but the service needs major improvement . No water refill ever (seems like very common because this happened before), no one came to check up if we needed anything, other tables got complimentary chips and we did not. Inca Paisa, on Francis Lewis Blvd, takes birthdays seriously! Food was delicious. (I had lomo de cerdo a la plan ha. Yumm!) Service was attentive. The lush floral decor is beautiful. The vibe is friendly and fun. They bring birthday cake to your table, sing "Happy Birthday" with one waiter on cowbell, hand you a lit sparkler (I think that is what it's called), and that friendly crowd also wished me a good birthday. Tasted chicharrón for appetizer which someone ordered and it was good. My sister has a arroz chaufa, which she enjoyed. I ordered entrana and it was pretty good but I have had better in other places. I was originally ordering the pisco punch but they were out of pisco (which is part of their signature cocktails). I ended up getting Lulo Cooler which was pretty good. My mom went to Inca Paisa a few weeks ago for happy hour and really enjoyed her meal, so she wanted to go back and have me and my husband try it too since we're big foodies. Unfortunately we all agreed it didn't seem to live up to the hype of the first visit. We asked for a happy hour menu and were told they didn't have one. My mom, having been before, ordered a white wine which she believed to be on the happy hour menu because she had gotten it last time. We ordered the empanadas, skirt steak with plantains, rice, and beans, and cocktails/wine. Drinks were good, and the food was tasty too though the steak was a little too salty. Really liked the empanadas and that we were able to do a variety. There was a miscommunication with the server and at first we only received one entree, but it didn't take too long to get the others. Good sized portions; when I added more rice to my leftovers the next day the salt was more mellowed out. When we got the check, the wine did not seem to be on happy hour and the server told us it wasn't. We were confused, felt like this was something that could be easily resolved if they just had a small happy hour menu or if the server let us know that it wouldn't have been included. A manager changed the bill to reflect the happy hour price which was much appreciated! While I enjoyed the food, the overall experience landed somewhere in the middle. read more

I wanted to try a different Peruvian place so found this place. Prices are a lot higher on UE than in the restaurant but it is what it is. Ordered a whole chicken and a fried rice Colombian style. L really like the green sauce and the rice. Yellow sauce is nice, lil spicy. Fried rice is sweet and savory with sausage, chicharron, sweet plantain pieces. The sausage kinda remind us of Chinese sausage. Didn't look like the typical Colombian sausage or hot dog. Greasy with all the fried ingredients so L ate most of it. Chicken was juicy, white meat was cooked nicely. Not too salty. I don't really care for Peruvian chicken. The bandeja was okay. The chicharron was practically all fat, the grilled beef was too thin for L. I thought it tasted fine. The beans, Maduros were really good. The egg is more poached and still a lil runny which L enjoyed. We shared this dish since it's fattening. The 6 empanadas are more like mini ones. Tasted good but were just so small. They're greasy cuz they are fried not baked. They didn't come with any hot sauce like Colombian bakeries usually give. Could've used a lil heat. If the prices weren't so high on UE and (yes I know apps charge 30% or so for their fee and some restaurants increase the prices to recoup the costs) I might order more often since L liked the chicken here slightly more than our usual spot in LI. read more

When this restaurant first opened, my boyfriend and I were thrilled that a new Peruvian spot was going to be accessible so close to where we live! No more driving all the way to Corona for our fix, or so we thought. We walked in around 5:30pm for an early dinner on a weekday, but were incredibly turned off by the lack of attentive service. After being told to take a seat wherever we want by the bartender, we had to wait about 15 minutes to even receive menus and water. Another 15 minutes later, still no one came by to take our order so we just walked out and ate somewhere else; it wasn't even busy or understaffed. Since we wanted to give this place another chance, we ordered takeout a few days later to try their food. When we got home, we discovered that they forgot to pack the salsa verde even though woman who gave me the bag read it out loud on the receipt. The seafood jalea was subpar - overcooked calamari that was too chewy, fried fish that was falling apart from being too oily, and they did not include limes which is a sacrilege! When my friend and I walked in, we were immediately singled out by a customer who repeatedly said "hello" in Japanese to us over and over while his friends laughed. We're not even Japanese, but that's beside the point--the entire interaction was clearly meant to mock us. What made this experience even worse was the complete inaction from the staff.
