I decided to call on Friday afternoon to get on the schedule for Monday. To my surprise, the technician I spoke to said he could come in about 30 minutes. The technician took a look and instantly identified the problem. He looked at my other door and saw the same problem. He quoted me a reasonable price for repair, got right to work, and had the doors fixed quickly. I hope I don't need another garage door repair soon, but if I do I'll be calling Watkins Garage Door.

Our garage door spring broke and we tried to contact Pro Door Doctor, having had a wonderful experience with them in the past. Upon learning that A1 had acquired the company, we decided to move forward in hopes that the experience would be the same. We couldn't have been more wrong. We set an appointment time window when both of us could be home. The technician showed up early. He priced out the broken spring, some hinges, and other minor repairs needed that I quickly signed for while on a conference call. I came out a short bit later to check on how things were going and he said "we haven't even talked about the motor yet!" and proceeded to convince me that I needed a new motor. Additionally, he ran tests on my other garage door, which I did not give him permission to do and tried to sell me on repairs for that one as well (which thankfully I declined). All in and done, we were charged $2800 - $880 alone for a motor we did not need, is NOT quiet like the motor we had, and cost us 3x what it retails new online. I was also told that he could give me a discount that was better than the free consultation coupon that we had but the "discount" was actually signing onto some kind of warranty program that I didn't get any explanation for. We called multiple times over multiple weeks to complain and never made it past an initial Customer Care agent. They say they are documenting what you say and passing it to their "escalation team" to call you back, but you will never hear from them. I highly question the ethics and business tactics that this company utilizes

The…read moreproblem turned out to be a wiring issue that I was eventually able to fix but in the meantime the workers were operating the door manually for a couple of weeks. This was quite a beating for the door and shortly after I got the opener working the door would not stay shut. I called a couple of the local companies and they couldn't come for days or even weeks. When I called Mr. Blair he promised to be there in a couple of hours. He arrived promptly at the promised time and quickly confirmed that the problem was the damaged threshold causing the force sensor to think an object was under the door. He replaced the threshold, adjusted and tightened the sensors, realigned both doors and lubed everything. All at a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend his services if you're having problems or need new doors or openers.
