Fabulous restaurant with cozy setting, excellent service, and the most fantastic pasta I've had in years. My husband and I were visiting Charleston and had already had some very good dishes at some very good restaurants. But by far the best experience we had was at Indaco. The atmosphere was cozy, inviting, and relaxing. Our server Alex was perfect, attentive, and friendly and the other supporting staff were all professional and efficient. For dinner my husband had a wonderful wood fire cooked Margherita pizza that I also tried and it was absolutely delicious. But I will have to come back to Charleston if only for the pasta dish I had. I had the Agnolotti pasta that I paired with a lovely Pinot Bianco. The pasta which the ingredients were listed as roasted sweet potato, ricotta, pecan ragu, pecorino, and aged balsamic had the perfect blend of taste and textures. The new challenger for the Charleston Italian restaurant scene. Incredible welcome that was warm and genuine. Tyler is one of Charleston's best. We were quickly seated. The restaurant is rich with warm colors and decor with real candles. Artful photos of pasta making makes you want to order immediately. We started with well crafted cocktails and a bottle of Pinot Grigio (only one choice) and a Super Tuscan. The wines were a little on the expensive side especially for this birthday party of 20 something's. The Hugo cocktail was called out as especially well crafted while the espresso martini was overwhelmed with coffee tones. The service was amazing and attentive. The server team worked together to deliver orders. The appetizers were exceptional including focaccia with whipped ricotta and apple butter - sizable chunk of bread that was delightful. Polpette that are top 3...in Charleston with a fresh red sauce - simply wonderful. Burrata with fresh greens and two slices of bread (needs more) was excellent. For dinner, the pasta dishes were finely crafted and had incredible flavors. Just really fresh crafted pasta. At this point, I was so excited to eat and lost track of my write up. Chicken parm was very good but needed more sauce and was a little dry. Not to take away from other pastas! We had pizzas for the table including the fig pizza. Sometimes less is more with pizza. Too much Gorgonzola that over powered, but nice arrugala and prosciutto. Top cooked more than bottom. I'm a pizza fanatic.... It was awesome. I want to get it to extraordinary!!! So good!!! Indaco was great! It was just two of us but we were HUNGRY--we grabbed the SC Peaches pizza to start which was just sweet/funky enough--the crust was nice and overall it was a solid 8/10. We then ordered the black pepper tagliatelle and the cappellacci. The tagliatelle was like a mix of a carbonara/cacio e pepe--it came with a raw egg yolk on top which I was totally fine with. It was delicious and the pasta seemed fresh and just al dente. It was a bit greasy due to the pork tesa but I still devoured it. The best part was the pasta itself. 7/10--I wish it was less greasy but I understand the fat is part of the flavor. My partner got the cappellacci--I tried a bit and it was really nicely cooked with the pasta being the perfect texture. I think the best part were the sweet onions--they really balanced the saltiness of the parmesan and chicken crackling sprinkled on top. 8/10! Overall, the experience was great and I recommend Indaco for a great Italian restaurant Downtown. It was a bit dark inside, so the photos didn't turn out well! The atmosphere is nice, though it can get a bit loud. We didn't try any drinks this time around but the bar looked well handled and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We decided to do the "For the Table" $60 a person meal and oh my heavens--it far exceeded expectations. For four of us, we were given two appetizers, a pizza, two pastas, one entree, and two desserts. Every single morsel was DELICIOUS, heavenly, decadent. Make sure to get any seasonal item at this Italian restaurant. The dishes were very fresh and you could tell that everything was homemade. The pasta was overly salty, which I typically like, but this was a little too salty for my taste. The pizza was much bigger than I had expected. Shishito peppers came with this amazing lemon ricotta, which gave it an extra layer of flavor. The inside is very loud, which makes it hard to hear the people you are with. We had a table of six and it was extremely difficult to hear the people at the end of the table. read more

The butternut squash pizza was delicious and certainly not a pizza you would find everywhere; as for the tagliattele is was great too but the portion seemed a little for an entree though. Everything on the menu I tried was delicious. The gnocchi that comes with the roast chicken and zucchini is giving me major Italy flashbacks. The meatballs were big and hearty and perfectly seasoned. I reccomend getting some of their seasonal items because they really do put thought into the menu and they are limited time. Our waitress was great, she was very attentive and helpful when we were making decisions. The environment was a little loud. It's all hard surfaces so when it gets busy in there it gets very loud. I *loved* Indaco. While visiting Charleston, this Italian spot was recommended to us. It was described as really good food without being a tourist trap. That plus Italian = I'm sold! I had a couple cocktails including the "Georgia on my Mind" mocktail (peach, lemon, soda) + vodka, and my favorite part was that it came with a peach ring gummy garnish. Too cute! The drink itself was a bit tart/sour for me. If I could go back, I'd love to try something different, because their cocktail menu sounds SO unique and interesting! For an appetizer we had the burrata with peaches and MY GOODNESS I was obsessed. The texture and flavor combinations with the crunchy grilled bread, soft creamy burrata, and fresh and juicy peaches was truly outstanding. It was a great, light appetizer to kick off the meal. For my entree, I couldn't resist ordering the stuffed pasta called caramelle (Candies). This was such a fun and interesting pasta, shaped like individually wrapped little candies. The hands-on work and attention to detail for this dish was really fantastic, props to the kitchen!! And the dish was DELECTABLE and rich. I believe it was stuffed with cheese and mortadella, and had rich brown butter and fresh pesto sauces, plus mortadella chunks and pistachios. It was SO good. Overall we really enjoyed our meal here and I hope to have the opportunity to dine here or another of the Indaco locations sometime in the future! read more

You'll be hard pressed to find better food in Charleston! This gem has a refreshing take on modern Italian. Their wood fire Neapolitan style pizzas are delicious, but antipasti, pasta entrees, and craft cocktails are what put it over the top. Their meatballs are as tender and well balanced as any you'll have. Their focaccia bread is outstanding with a house made dipping oil that will blow you away with its depth. And their raviollini is one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Its sweet pea and ricotta filling, with its slightly acidic, slightly hot, slightly fatty sauce is incredible. Add to this an extremely knowledgeable and engaging wait staff and a laid back atmosphere and you've got everything you could want for a fantastic dinner. The food was great and the service was excellent. The tables are a little too close for my comfort; Especially when the gentleman sitting next to us had to put his hand on our table in order to get up from his seat. Yeah, that happened. My husband had the Radiatori and I had the market fish which was a seared red drum. I thought my fish was overcooked because the outside was seared pretty harshly with a little bit of burn ends,but the inside was perfectly cooked. So it just had a hard sear. The fregola, butter beans, celery, radish, arugula, herb vinaigrette added just enough balance of flavors and acid to the fish. We had the tiramisu for dessert and it was amazing! They also gave us three samples of the gelato because we were celebrating our 41st anniversary. We had pistachio, vanilla, and chocolate with salted caramel. All were very good!. We also had Espresso martinis with our dessert. Yum! The restaurant was very cozy with a modern industrial style. The ambiance was romantic until the lady by the window decided to pull the shade up and the blinding light from the outside shown into the restaurant. Utterly delicious, fantastically charming, and wonderfully warm Indaco is worth gaining more midsection padding to partake in this delightful wonder of an Italian restaurant. Twice I have pulled myself up to the bar (seriously this place has the highest bar stools) and found myself instantly at ease. While Southern hospitality is on full display throughout Charleston, Indaco seems to take it up a notch. Both times the bartenders have been warm, welcoming, and utterly delightful answering any question with great conviction. The food is phenomenal. I have guiltily had their tagliatelle both times and regretted neither. The noodles are perfectly toothy, the bits of salty pork contrasts and balances the bright sauce. My taste buds sing its praise. I have also had dessert twice and I will not captivate you with those tales because the dessert items I have tried were seemingly limited items. All I can say was both were very good. I love a good pastry dessert and Indaco has never let me down in that regard. I will go here again before I go home because it is just that good! read more

Decided to try Indaco in Charleston for brunch after enjoying it for dinner at their Greenville location. I was not disappointed! I got a basic breakfast with two eggs any way, bacon, and toast. The breakfast came with crispy fingerling potatoes and a side salad. It was nothing super fancy--just the basics done well, which, in my opinion, is the best. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the toast had a great berry jam that came with it. I also really liked the side salad. It was lettuce with a light lemony dressing. The service was great. As with the Greenville location, they were unfazed by my dairy allergy and easily accommodated it. A great place for people with dietary restrictions. I checked out the Brunch at Indaco for the first time. The menu had a wide selection of food to choose from: breakfast pizza, to pasta, to steak and eggs, to waffles. We didn't order drinks but sat at the bar and all the drinks being made looked divine. I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time because we went right when they opened at 10 am and couldn't get a table! The meatball sandwich was served on focaccia which was so delicious, but super messy BEWARE! We also ordered the tomato and egg dish which was basically Shaksuka. It was nothing to write home about but I do like that it was included on the menu. Their warm marinated olives are a must order that I get every time I go because they are tossed in a savory pesto sauce and the olives are so nicely warmed. Even someone that doesn't like olives could enjoy these! A friend in the kitchen sent us out the bananas foster waffles which surprised me; they had crispy, maple bacon bits sprinkled on top of them. This gave such a nice combination of sweet and savory, which is my kryptonite. Everything was good. I'm glad I tried brunch here, but don't know if it's something I would return to more than a couple times a year. read more

The upscale version of Italian, this place is great to impress a client or a date. We got sat later in the night and closed out the place. Our waitress was an angel but drink service was slow probably due to the time. Beware their espresso martini has hazelnut syrup if you have any allergy people with you. Food that was worth it: the focaccia, the little gem salad, and the tagaletti (or whatever comes with spec). The pasta with the shrimp and the squid ink pasta was ok but was salty (and i don't think they advertised the fact it was squid ink pasta). Espresso martinis were too bitter for my liking. read more
