This has been on my list for a while and I'll surely come back! I started with the focaccia which was warm, airy and paired perfectly with the pimento forward olive tapenade and whipped ricotta. Enough for 3 people to have a sizable piece. If you're looking for an indulgent, knock your socks off pasta, GET THE TRUFFLE SPAGHETTI! It is completely worth the price and enough for 2 people to split to feel better about the spend. The lumache Nero had a solid kick to it and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. For dessert, we chose the olive oil cake and tiramisu. I'd definitely order the cake again especially to taste that lemon curd again! The interior is dimly lit, great for a date night or special occasion. There's an open kitchen so you can watch the food being cooked along with a large bar. Hands down, excellent dining experience from the moment we walked in the door. Had early reservations for Saturday Brunch and the hostess allowed us to pick our table - so we grabbed a high top in the window. Hostess was super friendly and then our waiter came by. Wish I could remember his name but he was excellent. Like can we be actual friends in real life!? Placed a drink order (my new bestie said the strawberry drink I was eyeballing was excellent- and boy was he right). We settled on sharing a breakfast pie and sandwich. That pizza could have been destroyed in one sitting. SO good. Sandwich was also delicious and the side salad and potato's made it perfect. The restaurant itself is beautiful! Upscale Italian restaurant with a twist. If your table is up to it, I'd recommend the chef special which means you get no say in the 3 course meal - chef picks. It's a great way to try several different dishes. The restaurant does seem to rotate dishes to some degree; everything we tried was good. The ricotta cavatelli was my absolute favorite dish (our server also said it was his favorite) and the gelato for dessert. I'm not sure if there's a dress code, but it does appear to be expected - this makes sense to match the vibe of the restaurant. Definitely a good date night spot. I'd recommend reservations. Parking is tough to find, especially on a busy night so factor that into your time. read more

The pizza was ok but coming from Chicago I am not sure what I expected. The pasta dish I had with pork was very good but unfortunately cannot remember the name. We had dinner at Indaco for one of our meals during my sister's bachelorette trip. It was a particularly humid day because it had rained, so the vent above our table was dripping water. Water dripped onto some of us and into some of our drinks. We informed our waiter after he commented on us shifting our seats at the table but nothing came of it. Water continued dripping and so we commented on it a second time and were then moved to a different table which had no such issues. After being moved service was intermittent at best, primarily because we were no longer in our server's section (I hope). It's unfortunate that these incidents happened because the food received rave reviews from our whole party. read more

I had never been there before but my friend mentioned it's one of her favorite restaurants. Now it's one of mine. Apparently the menu changes so I wasn't sure what to get. We decided to do family style dinner where the kitchen decides what to serve you. A foodie's dream! We mentioned a couple of things we did not prefer (not a lot tbh) and let the experts wow us. Wow us they did! We received so much food and quite the variety for such a reasonable price. As the starter we had meatballs - fantastic quality meat and wonderful flavors, a hot honey pepperoni pizza - perfectly thin crust, and some kind of bread with an apple butter and cream that I cannot recall (we left no crumbs so so divine). For the entrees we were presented a carbonara pasta - so creamy and flavorful, steak frites with potatoes - perfectly cooked steak and crispy potatoes, a ravioli, and some kind of endive salad (not my most favorite). For dessert we were given their cannoli donuts (out of this world)! Their cocktails were equally flavorful, unique, and thoughtfully crafted. There was not a drink we did not like - we all had different ones. Someone mentioned their espresso martinis were spectacular so we had to try and I thought it was fine. Still a favorite spot nearly a decade after we first discovered Indaco! This time the hits started with the burrata; peaches, greens, and flatbread rounded out the deliciousness. My husband loved the bucatini nero (he's a fan of squid ink pasta!) with shrimp and a bit of Calabrian chili for a kick. I thoroughly loved the beef bolognese radiatori which was a noticeably "lighter" bolognese that felt right for the end of summer. Indaco is one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston. In my opinion, the best way to experience it is by ordering the chef special. For $60 per person, you get a selection of appetizers, two pastas, and two pizzas, which lets you try a variety of dishes you might not normally order. We both voted to walk the 1.5 miles back to indaco and ditch somewhere new. Even better tonight. We made it in time for happy hour at the bar with Mattie. I visited Indaco for a group dinner this past Saturday when were in Charleston. For a friend's 40th birthday, she arranged for a large group dinner for around 20 people. For this many people, they offered a set menu served family-style and allowed my friend to customize the menu from several options. I'm so glad she found Indaco, because they did an excellent job. The restaurant is beautiful. We were seated in the area just off the main dining area. It has greenhouse vibes, with an indoor/outdoor feeling while still being entirely inside and insulated (no worries about January). The staff were wonderful. 20-ish people is a large group, but the service was great throughout. For our family-style menu, we shared: Little Gem Lettuce (Caesar, Parmesan, garlic crumb, and cured egg yolk); Burrata (Asian pear, endive, radicchio, shallot, brown butter, hazelnut, and flatbread); Amatriciana pizza (San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, guanciale, red onion, Aleppo pepper, oregano, and pecorino); Creste di gallo (beef bolognese, Parmesan, and basil); agnolotti (roasted sweet potato, ricotta, pecan ragu, pecorino, and aged balsamic); and their pecan-crusted market fish (farro, roasted squash, cipollini, black garlic, and pepitas). Everything was very good. Overall, I thought every dish was successful, and we each had different favorites (which means everything is pretty good, right?). They also offer a full and interesting menu of drinks. I shared a bottle of wine with a few people (a Valpolicella from Veneto), which was a great wine at a great price ($55), but lots of people in our group enjoyed cocktails as well. Large groups are hard, but the staff at Indaco didn't blink. The food was good. The drinks were good. The service was good. The ambiance was good. They did a great job, and they made my friend's birthday special. I'd certainly return. read more

I visited Indaco during Charleston Restaurant Week and was blown away!! I ordered SO much food and left with so many leftovers and had zero regrets. The meatballs are absolutely huge! They are tender and could be a meal all on their own! The spicy soppressata pizza was giant and I took half of it home (reheats great). Next time I'll order the honey on the side but other than perfection! The radiatori bolognese was to die for. The house made pasta noodles were a type I had never had before and they went with the sauce so well! And again I had tons of leftovers and it reheated so well. Not the normal pool of grease you normally get when reheating noodles! The tiramisu was also amazing. So moral of the story Indaco is amazing and I highly recommend. Their happy hour at the bar is also a really good deal so definitely worth checking out! The bartender was really great and super attentive and helped us with our choices. I've never had a bad experience at Indaco and realized I am long overdue for writing them a review. I visited this past weekend with one of my friends where we split the focaccia and mushroom pizza. It's bread, sauces, and cheese so it's hard to mess up. The mushroom pizza is delicious. In the past I've ordered the tagliatelle that is one of my favorites on the menu. The ambience is low lit and casual dressy (no flips flops and tshirts but you also don't need a suit.) overall the prices on the menu are fair for King Street. A little pricey for pizza (if that's what you order but they have loads else on the menu!) My only complaint this visit was when I initially walked in and asked for bar seating they said "yes it's first come first serve but we seat people." Those are two very different things. Long story short they held 9 chairs at the bar for about 30 minutes for no shows and eventually sat us so just a heads up- you can't just walk in to the bar anymore. This is a new policy. read more

This was a dining experience that I'll be thinking about for a long time. From start to finish - from the food to the service to the vibes - Indaco is the perfect place to celebrate a big occasion. Unlike other restaurants that pretend to care whether it's your birthday or anniversary, the entire team at Indaco went above and beyond to make my mother-in-law feel extra special on a milestone birthday. I made a reservation a few days in advance for four on a Tuesday evening. The hostess greeted us warmly, and it really felt like she was happy we were there. After guiding us to our table, she presented my mother-in-law with a birthday card that several of the staff members had actually signed. This small, thoughtful detail set the tone for a truly memorable meal. Our server, Brittany, was extremely helpful and utterly hilarious. My father-in-law can be quite the jokester, and she kept up with him at every step. The food was phenomenal - we sampled our way through multiple menu highlights and it's hard to pick a favorite. The Roasted Half Chicken was a standout, along with the Ricotta Cavatelli. If you think you're not a fan of octopus, you should still try Indaco's. It's perfectly cooked (not chewy at all) and paired with uniquely delicious braised field peas. Save room for dessert if you can ... the Zeppole and Gelato Trio are the perfect sweet treats to end an already incredible meal. I was also so excited to read that Indaco is expanding to Nashville next year ... I can't wait to frequent their new location when it's officially open! read more

Got drinks and dinner with friends while visiting Charleston. Our experience here was good but it wasn't anything to write home about. I had the Tagliatelle which I had them make dairy free, so maybe that's why I didn't love it. But it was very citrusy. I tried my sisters who got the same thing just not dairy free and it was pretty good. The service was a little slow. I came here with some girlfriends visiting me in Charleston, and I was honestly impressed! Even though I have passed by this restaurant a handful of times, Indaco wasn't really on my radar. We ordered the Tagliatelle, Peach Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, and the Mafaldine for food. Everything came out perfectly. The pizzas were excellent and a shareable size. However, I wish the pasta entrees were larger to make it easier to share. Our server helped explain to us the differences between pasta dishes and what customers' favorites are. We arrived on time and had a reservation but were asked to wait outside as they got the table ready. Once sat, the waiter came promptly and took our orders. As a girl with celiac, I just had the BEST restaurant experience of my life. Our waitress (I think her name was Jen!) went over every single menu item with me and confirmed if there was any risk of cross-contamination and how items could be modified to be made gluten free. Definitely recommend getting a reservation as the wait time was long, but if you're gluten free (and also if you aren't!) this is WORTH IT!!! Only compliant is the seating, for a party of two, they might seat you at a two person table that hardly has any room not to mention you eating elbow to elbow with strangers also in your same situation. From start to finish it was a great meal. It's got a great atmosphere. Starting from the large wood door you use upon entering. Our drinks were fantastic. We had Strawberry Fields Forever, Dirty Martini, and a glass of Chianti.We had the Spicy Soppressata, and Margherita pizzas as appetizers. One was better than the next. We had the Red Drum fish, Radiatori pasta, roasted half chicken, and the Flat Iron steak. Each meal was prepared and plated perfectly. We had the shishito peppers and broccolini as side dishes. The new challenger for the Charleston Italian restaurant scene. Incredible welcome that was warm and genuine. Tyler is one of Charleston's best. We were quickly seated. The restaurant is rich with warm colors and decor with real candles. Artful photos of pasta making makes you want to order immediately. We started with well crafted cocktails and a bottle of Pinot Grigio (only one choice) and a Super Tuscan. The wines were a little on the expensive side especially for this birthday party of 20 something's. The Hugo cocktail was called out as especially well crafted while the espresso martini was overwhelmed with coffee tones. The service was amazing and attentive. The server team worked together to deliver orders. The appetizers were exceptional including focaccia with whipped ricotta and apple butter - sizable chunk of bread that was delightful. Polpette that are top 3...in Charleston with a fresh red sauce - simply wonderful. Burrata with fresh greens and two slices of bread (needs more) was excellent. For dinner, the pasta dishes were finely crafted and had incredible flavors. Just really fresh crafted pasta. At this point, I was so excited to eat and lost track of my write up. Chicken parm was very good but needed more sauce and was a little dry. Not to take away from other pastas! We had pizzas for the table including the fig pizza. Sometimes less is more with pizza. Too much Gorgonzola that over powered, but nice arrugala and prosciutto. Top cooked more than bottom. I'm a pizza fanatic.... It was awesome. I want to get it to extraordinary!!! So good!!! We live right around the corner and have enjoyed Indaco's 5-7 happy hour for the past few years. Yes, you have to go early to sit at the bar and enjoy the happy hour menu. Solid/standard options; two people can eat/drink for around $100 (rare on King). Specifically, the pies are all fresh and have great crusts (just a little char), the meatballs are well-sauced and tender, and the salad dressings are ALL great. Bartenders are "on it" without being pushy and the overall darkness/dim lighting perfectly suits the menu and vibe. read more

Hard to find good Italian down South, this spot is right in downtown Charleston. Very nice atmosphere. Bartenders and waiters are extremely knowledgeable about the food and wines on the menu. We started with Prosciutto Di Parma appetizer which was delicious. I had the Radiatori which was very good and my wife had a flat iron steak which she enjoyed. Their wine list is extremely impressive with what seemed like everything Italy has to offer on it. We liked it so much we went back the next night! It is a little pricey. Everything is made in house which makes the pastas even more delicious and the wood fired pizzas were the star of the show. They had a plethora of apps that they kept bringing out from arancini, to caprese salad, tiramisu and the best things were the meatballs. I went back for those meatballs a dozen times! Indaco is always pretty good. Like all places there are things they could work on. We went in for our anniversary and while there were a number of open locations within they seated us right by the door. Two other couples came in for their anniversary and they seated them both right next to us. Now there were three couples that were just looking for a cozy dinner with their spouse all crammed into the tiny space right next to the hostess station and front door. Every time someone came in or a waitress walked by they would have to squeeze past us and inevitably bump into us. The food is basically standard Italian and generally good but maybe a little pricey. I would say that seating is too tight to really enjoy one's experience especially for an anniversary so we will be going elsewhere next time. read more

Indaco was the perfect spot for our first meal in Charleston. The vibes were trendy, and the ambiance made an ideal setting for a girls dinner. I started with a Paloma. It was made with a Grapefruit soda which was refreshing and light. A little different than expected, but in a good way! We kicked things off with the focaccia, and it was absolutely delicious--fluffy and flavorful. And the whipped ricotta was SO creamy. A perfect way to start the meal. For our entrees, we ordered the Margherita and the Spicy Soppressata pizzas. Both were incredible - some of the best pizza I've ever had. As a side, we went with the crispy potatoes, and wow - they were the perfect addition to the meal. I'll definitely be back to Indaco next time I'm in Charleston.
