Beef & Pork Meatballs
Sandy S.

The food was delicious! Our service was horrendous and two managers failed to address our concerns. In the middle of our meal and at the end. Did we want drinks? Yes! Did we order drinks immediately? Yes Did we get them? Yes, after our appetizer, entrees and sides, approx 25 minutes later. Did she blame the bar? Yes! Was it the bar's fault, no! Did she ever come back to our table to check on us? No. Why? She was too busy making friends with the large table of girls next to us. On multiple occasions, the worst service we have experienced in Charleston. Did we want more food? Yes! Did we want more drinks? Yes! Did we want dessert? Yes! Are we headed somewhere else right now to get the service that everyone deserves and the food and drinks we want? Absolutely! Do not recommend.

This spot screams girls night! I sat outside at the courtyard on a Saturday night. I loved the variety of couches, dining tables and half bench tables. I started with the spring peas which was different than expected but in a good way! It was more of a salad than a burrata and bread dish. The chicken Milanese was fantastically crispy and the potatoes were a great to eat up the sauce. The margarita pizza was super thin but refreshing. Our server was attentive and made great cocktail suggestions.

I recommend this place for the pizza! It was delicious. I was not a fan of the drinks and the appetizers tbh. The bruschetta was a little lacking in my opinion. I understand that they added their twist on it but it was a little too hard to bite into and messy. The pasta salad was okay. The pizza was amazing though! I would come back here for that. The ambiance was nice and convenient. The patio area was really cute. Our server was attentive and nice. I had a good experience overall.

My husband and I recently dined at Franny and the Fox, and the experience was outstanding from the moment we walked in. The ambience immediately stood out. Warm, stylish, and lively without feeling crowded. It set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Our waitress was delightful. Attentive, professional, and genuinely pleasant. She made thoughtful recommendations and checked in at the right times without hovering. The food matched the service. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we had was satisfying and well executed. If you're looking for a place in Charleston that delivers great service, great food, and a memorable atmosphere, this is it. We will definitely return.

Squid Ink Spaghettoni, Rigatoni, & Whipped Bone Marrow

When I was researching restaurants to visit for my upcoming Girl's Trip, Frannie and the Fox was one of the most frequently mentioned places. The decor of the restaurant gave high-end vibes but not "posh." So I didn't feel like I was eating outside of my tax bracket if you catch my drift. The service was wonderful and the waitress was kind enough to offer us a variety of recommendations. We ended up eating "family style" so we all ordered something different and then shared a bit of everything. We ordered the Beef and Pork Meatballs, the Whipped Bone Marrow, the Rigatoni, the Squid Ink Spaghetoni, and the Margarita Pizza (not pictured). I would say my favorite dish of the night was the Squid Ink Spaghetoni and I think it definitely deserves some more hype. If you're looking for a classy and intimate atmosphere, then this is the place for you!

Such a gorgeous atmosphere with comfortable lounging and delicious food. Our server was friendly and helpful.

Oh. My. Goodness. We had the best server, the best seat, the best food. Jimmy is genuinely just awesome, made my girlfriend's birthday dinner so much more memorable, even made a guy like me try a pink bar drink I'd never normally try and I loved it. Sitting outside is a must. Thanks Jimmy!!

We popped in for a drink - shout out to being open on Christmas!! - and were pleasantly surprised by how cute the place was. It's a hotel bar, though open to the public. They had the cutest little yurts set up on the patio, and I NEED to check them out next year!! The fire was burning on the patio and it was very comfortable to sit outside. The inside is also cute, and was open air connecting to the patio. We just ordered drinks, a spaghett and a beer, during a slow period for them. Bartender was very nice and helpful, giving us a heads up of where would be reserved for dinner service, etc. Very cute spot!

Frannie & The Fox is a great spot for dinner or just grabbing a few drinks. The restaurant is pretty big with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. The outdoor patio is really nice if the weather is good. I came here for happy hour with a couple of friends. I had the house white wine and the arancini small bite. The wine was a Chardonnay and I liked it. The arancini was pretty good but could have been a little more flavorful. The restaurant is wonderfully decorated and service was friendly and quick.

Really loved Frannie & the Fox! Went with a friend and first the restaurant is soooo cute! And the outdoor area is amazing especially with good weather! We order a couple drinks, the Taleggio pizza and a caesar salad. All really great and would definitely get again. Excited to go back and try more of the menu!

Good night at Frankie and the Fox. Would have preferred the patio but hostess said it was all booked. Tyler was an amazing waiter-- I likely would have given less stars if he hadn't been amazing. Caesar salad was good and big. Glasses of red were below average and I do like my red wine. It's super cheap to offer a decent glass of red wine. Up your game. Food. Husband had the rigatoni and I had the pasta with mushrooms in the skillet. Good. Not great for both. We both said Indaco had better food and atmosphere. Liked it didn't love it. Don't need to return!

I think this is the Taleggio (with pepperoni added)

We loved this place so much that we ate here twice during our trip to Charleston! The first night we ate here because it was a stone's throw from our planned ghost trip. We made reservations so we were immediately seated. We placed our order for meatball appetizer, caesar salad, and the white pizza (sorry, forget the name!) and added pepperoni. 5 stars across the board! However, I will say, on our next visit, I ordered the Pizzaiolo chopped salad and topped it on our pizza and THAT IS THE MOVE. The pizza is the perfect salad vessel and the only way to eat it. Service was lovely on both nights and I highly recommend for your next CHS visit!

We were staying at the Emeline, so we stopped in here for brunch (I saw on here that there aren't a lot of GF alternatives for dinner). Our service was incredible, and they were able to swap out my toast with GF bread, so I still had plenty of options. We had a nice time!

This was actually one of the few restaurants we didn't reserve before our trip, and because of its popularity, the best reservation time we could get was 8:30 p.m. After eating there, I can see why it's so popular. The late reservation was absolutely worth it. We walked to the restaurant from our hotel, and with the later reservation time, the weather was perfect for an evening stroll through Charleston. It ended up being a really enjoyable walk both to and from the restaurant. Service throughout the evening was excellent. Our waiter did a great job all night. As we were ordering, he mentioned that the chefs prefer that guests place their entire order at one time and that the kitchen would pace everything appropriately. My wife and I usually like to stagger our order because we don't like feeling rushed, but we went along with their recommendation. Unfortunately, the timing didn't work out quite as planned. Our bruschetta came out quickly, and not long after, the kitchen sent over a complimentary braised artichoke appetizer. Soon to follow came the Caesar salads. Before we knew it, we had two appetizers and two salads on the table all at once. This was a disappointment because it made the meal feel rushed and took away a little from what was otherwise a special evening. We mentioned it to our waiter, and he was extremely apologetic. The restaurant did their best to make things right. They continued to check on us throughout the evening to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Our waiter brought each of us a complimentary plum spritz, and treated us to dessert. That level of service and attention did not go unnoticed. Both of us ordered the Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti, and it was really good. The chicken was crispy, just the way I like it, the marinara sauce was excellent, and the spaghetti made for a great accompaniment. We finished with the pistachio cheesecake. Yum, yum. Even though the pacing of the first part of the meal wasn't ideal, the food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. We'd definitely go back the next time we're in Charleston.

It is completely worth the price and enough for 2 people to split to feel better about the spend. The lumache Nero had a solid kick to it and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. For dessert, we chose the olive oil cake and tiramisu. I'd definitely order the cake again especially to taste that lemon curd again! The interior is dimly lit, great for a date night or special occasion. There's an open kitchen so you can watch the food being cooked along with a large bar. Hostess was super friendly and then our waiter came by. Wish I could remember his name but he was excellent. Like can we be actual friends in real life!? That pizza could have been destroyed in one sitting. SO good. Sandwich was also delicious and the side salad and potato's made it perfect. The restaurant itself is beautiful! I got the almond sour (delicious) and my friends were pleasantly surprised they serve decaffeinated espresso martinis. My sister got a spritz, which she also enjoyed. I was also touched that the culinary team was kind enough to sign a birthday card for me. Our table also received complimentary cacio e pepe popcorn to snack on--yum! For appetizers, we got the tuna tar tar (Crudo di Tonno), the strawberry caprese salad, and some shrimp--all so delicious, that they FLEW off the plate! For mains, I got the Rotolo al Forno, which was VERY tasty. My friends got the chicken milanese, the Sorelle spaghetti, and the sworfish. For side dishes, we also got the meatball with polenta and some potatoes. For dessert, I got a complimentary birthday cannoli with a candle and the Limone (a berry and cream-filled dessert in the form of a lemon!) What. A. Meal!!! The food and the locale are just stunning. But of course, not cheap. As a whole, we paid a whopping $399.75 without tip! Was it worth it for a feast of glamour? I'd say so--but definitely not an every day treat unless you have the budget!
