The coffee was good but the food was, honestly, borderline inedible and not at all what we expected. What was even more disappointing was the response when our server asked how everything was. We were honest and told her we didn't like the food. Her only response was, "Awww," before walking away. There was no offer to make it right, no follow-up, and no manager checked on us. When our table was cleared, our plates were still nearly full. For a bill of around $100 for brunch for two, I expected much better food and customer service. The beautiful setting wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing meal and lack of concern when we shared our experience.

The Authentique truly feels like a little piece of France tucked into East Nashville. The décor, the vibe, hearing so many different languages around us, it honestly felt like being back in Europe. They have one of the most impressive wine lists I've seen in the city, and if you're indecisive like me, the wine flights are the way to go. We did the Tour de France flight, my husband went with the whites, I did the reds, and everything was incredible. The Beaujolais, Pinot Noir, Chards (yes, because we of course shared haha)... just wow. The service throughout the evening was disappointing. The bartenders appeared overwhelmed, unfriendly, and unwilling to provide basic customer service.
