I'm writing about the wonders of Indeblue Indian Bistro because it's very exciting to have this kind of fine dining in Crawfordville, within easy driving range. Fine dining it is, too, taking its place among the county's other well-known, top-quality restaurants like Trident, Posey's, and Lex and Roll Sushi & Thai. However, I must preface my remarks with a confession of a strong fascination with Indian food: I really love it. My interest reflects my experience with it -- I know how good the cuisine can be because I've been enjoying it for a long time now. "Technicolor food" is what I call it, not only for the visual presentation but because of its range of complex, intensely stimulating and satisfying flavors. My daughter and I headed to Indeblue for our first feast there with great anticipation. Word of mouth has been very good -- and there's a very good reason for that. Our excellent waitress asked what we wanted and, because it's so hard to decide, we said "Everything!" So that's what we got. The huge Thali Tasting Menu is completely, brilliantly delicious -- can be ordered vegetarian, of course -- or composed of tender meat dishes, and is a meal for two, easily. But there are more options on the menu that we could not pass up, so we ordered the phenomenally rich hot crab corn dip appetizer, an additional wonderful entree, and mango lassis to drink. All of it is superbly prepared and presented. Oh, the flavors they make! The incredible crab and corn dip appetizer is served with buttered garlic naan -- and when the garlic on the naan hits your nose just before you take a bite... it's transcendental! Yeah, we took away a mess of leftovers too, so we could do it all over again at home, in celebration of their arrival in Crawfordville. Indeblue met and exceeded all expectations. I tried the lunch buffet. Food was delicious and fresh. Server provided warm naan bread at the table. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant. Buffet is available at lunch. Dinner is menu only. Service was very attentive. Adrian was friendly and took care of the table and answered our questions. Looking forward to returning for dinner soon. This is a very welcome addition to Crawfordville. Stopped by for the lunch buffet. Seemed a little overpriced, $19.99 plus $5 for a soda and the buffet price wasn't posted anywhere. Buffet is set up right inside the door which seemed odd. Butter and mustard chicken, a lamb dish, a couple of vegetarian selections, and chickpea rice were all tasty. Fresh naan was brought to the table. The check was presented via a handheld device by the waitress which is always a little uncomfortable. Overall we would return if in the area where choices for any type of food are limited. read more

We came for dinner to celebrate a special event. The waiter was exceptional, very polite, and listened to all our requests. We had 6 people and wanted to try the recommended lamb chops, so they added extra pieces so very one could enjoy. The food was amazing; we wanted Indian spicy and it was fantastic. For dessert, their homemade rose petal ice cream was a fan favorite. And the staff surprised us with an extra desert for our celebration. It was so nice to have such a great experience right in Crawfordville with not many other choices for fine dining on a Monday night! IndeBlue Indian Bistro is absolutely worth the drive! We traveled 45 minutes to get here, and it was 100% worth it. Every dish we ordered was delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. Our server, Kiran, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful with menu suggestions. His recommendations were spot on and made the experience even better. A special shoutout to the crispy spinach appetizer--this is an absolute must and something we'll crave until our next visit.
