Traveling through the area and ended up staying at a hotel nearby. We were very very happy with this experience. Ordered ahead and picked up to go. Food was ready at the requested time and was delicious. I'm glad we over ordered because tonight we get to eat leftovers. The only two things that reduced the rating was the samosa dough wasn't very "light and flaky" and was salty enough that we threw them away and the naan was not light and crispy but more dense and chewy. That being said, definitely worth a stop, even if you go out of your way for it. read more

This place has authentic Indian food. I had the buffet and every dish was on point. The food was hot, plentiful and most of all delicious. The service was spectacular. I've been here a bunch of times. When they first opened the restaurant was seriously understaffed and the service definitely was not the best. With each subsequent visit the service has been noticeably better but it still has room for improvement. On each visit the dishes I ordered were rather ordinary -- but still quite authentic. And, to my taste, all were well cooked and properly seasoned. They reminded me of the food I ate when traveling in India. The decor could use some work -- in particular the harsh, cool white LED lighting that renders the atmosphere and food less appetizing to the eye. Just keep in mind that India Bhavan is not "high cuisine" in service, food or decor (nor are they trying to be) and you will find that it provides an adequate fix when you get a craving for Indian food. read more

Every time we are driving through Green Bay we stop here! The food is always delicious and the staff has always been extremely kind and helpful! Last night I got take out. They had actually thrown in little scoops of ice cream for us! I hadn't known they did that, but when the server heard I was driving home, 1 1/2hrs away, he ran in back and grabbed another dessert, explaining that the ice cream probably wouldn't make it that far. I was intrigued when I read a review saying this restaurant was on par with the Yelper's favorite Indian restaurants in the Chicago area. We decided to give it a whirl one day and were very pleased! The employees were very pleasant and accommodating. They were quite busy when we stopped but they got us seated quickly, including a high chair for our 8 month old. We ordered chicken saag and chicken curry and both were on point. We also got the cheese naan and the garlic naan, my husband liked the garlic better and I liked the cheese naan better. I've been to Indian restaurants and have ordered cheese naan that you wouldn't have been able to tell was anything near cheese naan, so this was a nice difference from what I've gotten in the past. This is my favorite Indian place in the Green Bay/Appleton area. The food is amazing. I do miss their buffet which disappeared during Covid - please bring it back! I've always been too intimidated to order off of an Indian menu but they have a big menu with good explanations for everything including a key for vegetarian, vegan, spicy, etc. The waiters are great and really friendly. We come here once every couple of months and they remember us and what we usually eat and will recommend new dishes and spice level for us based on our past meals if we're looking for something different. Yes: it takes longer to make the food. They do it all from scratch. So don't come if you're in a hurry. But if you want great, high-quality flavors and huge portions (I.e. Leftovers), come here and enjoy. If it's your first time, start simple. Naan bread with chicken masala. I went here because of the reviews but was disappointed on several things. Upon entering, my husband and I were not greeted as u usually are upon walking in. Instead we felt as if we were disturbing this individual. Got pass that! The service was good, but need to go past the server, who looked like he worked in the kitchen with a heavily stained t shirt, upon serving us the food. I also kept finding fibers/hair in my food. The restaurant is across the street from BayPark Square. It is a nice enough space but could use a little more light. Indian music was playing in the background which was a nice touch. The wait staff was very nice. The food was very good but just a note here. Their idea of mild is medium, medium is pretty spicy, and spicy should send you into orbit. The interior looked more like the previous tenant, Hooters, than an Indian cuisine establishment. Knotty pine instead of silk sheets. Middle Eastern music videos on the televisions that looked more like dirty dancing than belly dancing. Food was actually pretty good and arrived hot in metal bowls. We had the butter chicken and tiki Marsala chicken, spicy in intensity, and it was just right. They offer a limited selection of middle eastern beer, local wines, and Pepsi products.
