The food tasted good and the people are very nice. I found this place on Yelp and would definitely go there again!

Garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken saag

Fantastic experience! Definitely recommend! My cousin was in town and specifically asked me to take her out for Indian food. India Bistro is the highest rated Indian restaurant in this area, so of course, I had to check it out. Heads up: Be sure to go to their actual website to check for hours and see if takeout might be your best option. They have limited staff right now, so their hours are limited and they're limiting dine-in service. I was kinda nervous about this so I almost didn't come, but I'm so glad I gave it a shot. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. The mother took our order and I think we were checked on by two of her daughters. I overheard her saying that her husband is the owner/chef/cook. We had the samosas, garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken saag, and a mango lassi. My cousin loved it all and so did I. We ordered everything medium, which was perfect for both of us. Those samosas were probably the best I've ever had. They were seasoned to perfection. Everything else was so delicious. I truly can't wait to return!

AMAZING! This was the best Indian food I have had in a long time. Ordered Saag Paneer, plain naan, and warm chai tea ...mmmmmmmm! To make it even better was the lovely owner who helped with food suggestions and was truly just the friendliest person. I highly recommend this place, and that was just from my short walkin for a to go order. P.s. they offer a buffet during holidays, and even though I'm limiting my in restaurant experiences, it's good to know they are following safety measures with masks, sanitation, and a glass-guard over the buffet food with a counter server style buffet (vs. a patron walk up and serve themselves).

The dining area is spotless! The staff are welcoming and address guests as friends. The food was delicious and they come to check on you fairly often. Your drink will never run dry! We opted for the buffet, in order to try more items. So good and generous portions. Will definitely be back!

    30. Tikka Masala Curry and butter chicken with garlic naan

Will absolutely be back. Tried India Bistro for a carry out order after reading all of the reviews. This food lived up to the hype! We did an order of butter chicken, tikka masala and 2 orders of garlic naan. Even after driving home, food was steaming hot and delicious! Naan pieces were large, 2 pieces per order. Food portions were generous, enough to have dinner/lunch the next day. The woman on the phone was extremely kind, repeating back the order to ensure it was right. Staff was friendly and appreciative upon pick up. This will be our new go-to Indian food restaurant!

Couldn't miss the return of the HurryCurry weekend lunch buffet! I love the variety because everything is so good I can never decide on just one entree. If you're not familiar with Indian food, it's great way to try different dishes. This is comfort food. Fresh ingredients and warm, flavorful spices make it crave worthy. This family owned business will treat you like one of its own. Everyone is helpful and friendly and strives to ensure your dining experience is a pleasant one.

tl;dr - Long wait times for dine in but amazing food. Recommend take out. When my husband and I were in Plainfield for some errands we wanted to make sure we took the time to try this place - we had heard some really good things! When you first pull up you aren't even sure if it's open...and it's the same way when you walk in. The place was empty and no one was behind the counter. Someone finally came out and had us sit and took our order and then the wait began. From what we could see it seemed that there was only one employee who was working both the dining room, the phone, and the deliveries and we didn't hear back from her in so long we weren't sure if we were even going to be served. My husband finally asked and a few minutes later delicious and steaming how food was put in front of us. The malai kofta was super delicious. It was my first time trying it so I don't know how it compares to other restaurants but I would definitely recommend it. My husband had the lamb biryani and he said the lamb was very tender and flavorful. He also ordered his "hot" and he was so thrilled that it was actually spicy! Many times he doesn't even feel that Thai Hot is hot! We will definitely order from here again but probably won't dine in.

Finally, a place close to home that makes really good food. Ive tried vindaloo at many top rated restaurants and its always disappointing but here, they have the FLAVOR. If you know how Indian food is supposed to taste and tired of watered down flavors then this is where you need to come. Its a family run business and they are all so friendly and excited to share their passion and knowledge with you. Ill definitely come back to try all their dishes.

I had a bowl with sweet potato noodles, some veggies and the Korean crispy chicken. The flavors were good, but the thing that struck me was that some of the items were essentially cold and others were lukewarm, but none of it was really hot. I think it's an inherent property of what they do. They never "grill" or warn all these items together. It would be much better IMO if all the items were stir fried or thrown on a grill quickly together to warm up the dish and meld the flavors. That said the Korean crispy chicken was flavorful and the noodles were a highlight, and seemed to be like Thai glass noodles I've had before. My dining partner got a bowl with the same noodles, some veggies and the salmon. She really like the salmon, and said her bowl was good. The restaurant was clean, the workers were very welcoming and helpful on informing how to pick bowl items, etc. Parking was very easy. Of course they accept all the standard forms of payment, including tap to pay, etc. Overall, if you like interesting yet potentially disparate flavors together in the same bowl, you will likely enjoy BIBIBOP. We had already eaten a few bites when I remembered to take the pics (Apologies).

Our server was quick and attentive, and the food didn't take very long to arrive. I went with drunken noodles with chicken - mildly spicy, but still very flavorful and cooked well. I would've liked mango to pop a little bit more, but it was still a great and unique cake. I probably wouldn't go with sushi at this place because $25 per roll is New York level price, unless it is cooked from very fresh ingredients to the highest standard. All in all, a great experience - definitely returning.

I can't remember her name but she was so detailed in her descriptions, thoughtful with her suggestions, and had the perfect amount of attentiveness. Now on to the fun parts.... Drinks were a hit! We told our server what we like and they recommended a couple options. I again can't remember the exact name of the drink but mine was a gin cocktail. I'll attach some photos for you. As for the food, every bite I took was delicious. Our table shared the fried brussel sprouts and the ginger miso salad. A very lovely way to ease into our meal on a lighter note. They split up the salad onto two plates for us, which was sweet of them. The portion was pretty good for a $12 salad. Very refreshing. Brussel sprouts were absolutely fire. Get them! Along with that, I also ordered the tempura shrimp maki roll. Inside the roll was cucumber and avocado with giant tempura shrimp right on top, drizzled in spicy mayo. The presentation was cool, a slightly deconstructed version of what I would get somewhere else. There wasn't a single bite left on the plate. I would order all three of these dishes again in a heartbeat. Perfect for a date night or special occasion, but also works for just grabbing a bite with friends. Whenever I find myself back in Indy, Modita will be on my list.

We had a reservation and waited a little while after arriving, but once seated outside on the patio, we really enjoyed our dinner. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful with our selections. We even ordered a platter from the special Epicurean Local Menu, which was a great addition to the meal. Unfortunately, the way the evening ended completely changed our impression of the experience. We had finished our meal, had already told our waiter that we did not want dessert, and were essentially ready to leave when a gentleman approached our table specifically to tell us that we had 15 minutes remaining. It was unnecessary and made us feel as though we were being pushed out when we weren't lingering or preventing the staff from turning the table. I mentioned this on my way out and was told that guests are informed they have 90 minutes to dine. We don't recall having that explained to us, but more importantly, I don't think that should be the defining experience at a restaurant positioning itself as a higher-quality dining destination. There are much more gracious ways to manage table timing, particularly when the guests have already finished their meal and indicated they aren't ordering anything else. We were also celebrating our daughter's birthday and specifically mentioned it to the host when we were seated. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment of her birthday during dinner, which was another missed opportunity to make the evening memorable. It's disappointing because the food, drinks, patio, and our waiter were all excellent. We were prepared to leave thinking we'd had a 5-star dinner. Instead, the final interaction made a wonderful evening feel transactional and turned what would have been a 5-star review into a 3-star experience. A restaurant can serve outstanding food, but the way guests are made to feel is part of the experience too.

We came in on a Friday night at 6:30 with no reservation, and had to wait ~5 minutes for a table of two. We were sat at a high top at the bar, which we appreciated. Our server greeted us quickly, and checked in a few times throughout the night. Service was average, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. I had a hurricane to start off. Packed full of the good stuff, and one was definitely enough for the night. Appropriate price for what you get. This drink is what brought my review from a 2 for the food to a 3 in total. We started off with pork Bao buns. The bun was spongy, but somewhat dry. The pork lacked any sort of flavor, and the sauce on it didn't do much for me. The next part of the meal was the most disappointing for me: the curry chicken wings. Let me tell you- I was excited for these. These lacked any sort of flavor at all, and the only thing saving it was the ranch. The wings had a good crisp, but the sauce was lacking taste. I had the Shoyu ramen for my main. It was a pretty average bowl of ramen, but for the price, I expected more. The pork in it was flavorful, but the chicken in it was odd in my opinion with an unexpected herby flavor. Overall, service was average (but we appreciated getting sat fast), drinks were strong (and saved the meal) and the food was average. I remember the sauce being a little more red last time, but it was still good. Super crispy exterior and no excess batter so we just tasted the juicy chicken. The two entrees we got were the spicy chicken and jaeyuk. The spicy chicken was flavorful and tender. Along with the chicken, the veggies were stir fried nicely and coated in the broth.
