We've ordered to-go from India House several times, but I wanted the full experience of the food and ambience inside, so I ordered the Mixed Grill--lamb, chicken, shish kebab, and shrimp--all marinated in Punjabi spices, and served over grilled onions, bell pepper and other vegetables. The portion size was more than two meals--yes, I took more home than I ate (see the pics). Punjab, in the NW area of India, bordering Pakistan, is semi mountainous and part of the largest region of goats in the world, and other farm animals. Tandoori style cooking is famous and all of the meats are represented. But the cream based Masalas of Delhi, and the simmered Vindaloo dishes of the southwestern India coastline are featured also. The owners of India House, Manoj Kumar and his wife, Deepika Dhawan, opened their first restaurant here in Wenatchee in 2013. Since then, they've expanded toward the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene areas for a total of six locations. Theirs is an incredible success story, centering on dishes from all over India. Based on the quality of the food and breadth of traditions represented, India House rivals the finest Indian restaurants in Seattle. Walk in the door, and the high-class decor is a tip-off. Stopped in with the fam to try out the buffet. Everything was great. Service was great. Four different chicken dishes, tandoori vegetables, and lots of other goodies. The staff were attentive and helpful. Overall, it was great! Even our three year old ate a plate. We had a great visit last week to India House in Wenatchee. We went in about 6pm on a Thursday, and didn't have to wait at all. The ambience inside is nice and clean, and the booth was comfortable. But you really want to know about the food, don't you? The food was really good. We started off with samosas, which were really good. The mint and tamarind sauce on the side were a great addition to the vegetable samosas. My daughter recommended the cheesy naan, which is the only thing I didn't love. I love a good garlic naan, but the cheese was thick and it almost reminded me of cheesy breadsticks from a pizza place, so it felt kind of out of place. The taste was good, but the texture didn't do it for me. For entrees tried out some different items, though I'm not sure I remember all the names. I think we had paneer butter masala, tiki masala, another vegetarian dish, and a rice dish with lamb. All were quite tasty. I wish I would have gotten the saita sauce for the rice as it was a little dry. The spiciness was decent. I asked for a 3 for the rice dish and it was more like a 1, whereas the others asked for a 2 and theirs were spicier than mine, but I'm not going to worry too much, better than having it way spicier than I would like. Overall the food was very good, the server was very nice (seemed like he might be new but he still did a great job), and the price wasn't bad for four of us. We definitely plan to go back. read more

This place has a great ambiance- impressive. Very clean and well maintained. We ordered Naan, vegetable biryani, vegetable curry and Arnold palmer. It took some time for them to prepare the food. It was fresh. Everything was delicious. It was north Indian flavor. But we really enjoyed the food. Their hospitality was great. Really enjoyed their service that day. I ordered takeout from India House while I was staying in Wenatchee. I ordered the Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan, a very conservative order. I took it back to the hotel and enjoyed my dinner. Notably, no silverware was included in the takeout bag, but thankfully the hotel provided some. The quantity of rice and butter chicken was very large, and I had to combine them on two separate plates. The naan was tasty, although it could have benefitted from some butter. The butter chicken was very flavorful, with a rich tomato base and nice blend of spices. The consistency was just right and it paired well with the rice. It was not the best I've ever had, but it was probably the best 7pm-weeknight-takeout I've had. The price was steep for takeout. 16.99 for the entree and 4.50 for the naan, plus tax. Although the quantity was solid, $24 for takeout is hard to justify. Either way, I'm a sucker for Indian food and will definitely return. read more

I want to start by saying I've only had Indian food once before in my life--and that experience was awful. Because of that, I avoided it for years. But I decided to give it another shot and visited India House here in Wenatchee, trying their buffet since it had a bit of everything I wanted to sample. All I can say is wow--this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I can't speak to how authentic it is, but the flavors were incredible and everything tasted so fresh. Amazing! We split the butter chicken and the lamb saag. Both were perfect levels. The garlic naan did not disappoint. Our daughter, who can be a picky eater at times, absolutely devoured the chicken soup and declared it "the best she's ever had in a restaurant." Really happy I found this place. Being out on the road you eat the same thing over and over again. So a good Indian place was a happy find. I was seated right away. It was not busy, but that could have been because it was a Thursday at 4:30pm. A bit early for most people to be out for dinner. Because there was not many people there (6 in total) I felt a little rushed to order. The waiter was hovering around by the wall across from where I was sitting. I decided on the butter chicken and the regular garlic naan bread. I was a disappointed that I had to pay extra for the naan. Most Indian restaurants I have been to the naan is included with an entree meal. Don't get me wrong the $4.25 for the naan was well worth it but it was not enough to go with the large portion of butter chicken. I had enough chicken for 2 meals. Ladies and Gentlemen, what we have here is yet another fine example of a restaurant running at half potency. The food at India House are missing key ingredients that would otherwise make it authentic. What are missing are the more expensive spices and ingredients i.e. Having had the buffet today there is no presence of goat curry or vindaloo. The coconut milk dishes are being made with "half" the normal entry of coconut milk. Star anise, hing, clove, are absent within dishes that would normally carry them. Unfortunately they're charging $19.56 after tax(I drank water) for their buffet. The buffet is almost entirely made up of chicken and veggie parts. Four different chicken entre's, no lamb, no goat, no fish pacorma. If you're into bland Indoan food come on in. This is your place. Having had full strength Indian buffets abroad I would guage theirs as "weak" at best. They're cutting corners at every turn. read more

After driving past this restaurant every day I finally decided to give it a go - after all, chicken tikka masala is universally great, right? From the reviews I knew the food would be good but was amazed at how delicious it was first hand. The restaurant's ambiance is classy yet welcoming. The staff is very friendly and the food came out quickly after ordering. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala (medium spice) and Butter Chicken (medium spice). This medium spice level gave the food a good kick but wasn't overwhelming or unbearable. I wouldn't underestimate the spice level of this restaurant, though. Next time I definitely will try going to the next level, medium hot. The food came out in a family style serving bowl which I appreciated greatly! Since it was our first time eating here, my cousin and I were prepared to share different dishes together, and this family style serving bowls made it a lot easier. Both of the dishes were AMAZING - the sauces were flavorful but not too heavy, and the chicken was plentiful and thankfully not dry. We ordered garlic naan as well which paired the food perfectly. The garlic naan tasted fresh and herby. The food was overall refreshing and very filling. At first glance it may not seem like a lot, but it definitely is. We had left overs to take home, and the waiter was nice enough to give us some rice to take home. I would say that this is my new favorite restaurant in Wenatchee! People, please check your order before leaving this place... It was my second time ordering from here the other day. When you order food to go, they staple the bag closed, so usually people dont open it to check their order so you're left to assume everything you paid for is in the bag. This time I ordered, everything was not. My usual bill was around $45, picked up my order and got back to my apartment to find the garlic naan was not in the bag. I called and the guy answered the phone told me he put it in there. I told him, he put it in the wrong bag because it wasn't in mine and why would I lie about the cheapest item on my bill? Garlic naan, seriously? He stated the manage said for me to come back and get it. I said, I'm not going back in the cold and drive there for a mistake they made. I had a review for them from 2021 and didn't rate them well. Now I'd like to rate them a 5 star. I've been coming here every time I come into town. The staff is super friendly. They aren't talkative or the ones who stare at you at a desi restaurant. Food is decent. I enjoy their dishes. Their tandoori clay items are very good. I'd avoid the lamb though. I wasn't a fan. Everything else was great. Naan is fresh. Rice is fresh- never the old rice which you may see at other Indian places. I like coming here and you'd like it too. It smelled so good outside that we had to give it a try. The food came out fairly fast, but we were one of two tables on a Sunday evening. We both got 3/5 stars and holy moly it was spicy! I have a higher than average tolerance for spicy too. Our chicken curry and butter chicken were good. It came with basmati rice. We also ordered a side of garlic naan and that was super good!
