We had open table credit and looked around for something near our hotel room that night. Hub found this and we like Indian food, especially dosa, which is on very few menus in this city. As we drove to the restaurant the area did not look inviting, but once inside, you get a more sophisticated experience. Most of the places we go to are not known for ambience...so I applaud the effort to make this nice. Soft Indian instrumental music was on....this was going to make this experience even better. We got some water and got our usual order of Chicken Tikka Masala, a Masala Dosa and butter naan. Dosa came first..had some beautiful sauces....and full of potato. Best Dosa I have ever had....hub agreed. The chicken tikka was ordered spicy and this did not disappoint. I thought the portion size was quite generous and it came with a flavorful rice. The naan was a little small, but it worked due to the oversize of the Dosa and the Tikka. I would bring friends here next time because the space is so nice. We had a gift card so decided to come. India palace DO NOT have a buffet anymore. So we ordered ala carte. We got the butter chicken, chicken vindaloo and bullet naan( with jalapeños). The food was delicious, slightly better than your buffet style Indian food. I liked the tomato umami from my butter chicken. Very happy I went here and tried this place. It's was quite empty the whole time but served great food and naan. I had the chicken korma and also tried the goat curry that a buddy had. I eat Indian food all over the states. nothing beats the Paneer Makhni that I had here. it was so incredible that I went back for lunch the next day, and even ordered it to my hotel the third day of my trip. if you're in the mood for Indian while visiting Vegas, youre looking at the RIGHT restaurant. the service was nice and quick, at lunch my second day they had a great buffet, and the ambiance was very nice. you can tell it's a family owned place. the truth Is though- even if this place was filthy and the staff was rude - I'd STILL come for the food, it was seriously that delicious. My husband and I went to India Palace while we were on vacation. We got there closer to the time that they reopen for dinner so it wasn't crowded, however they didn't have the option for a few menu items (thali's, dosa, etc) due to a larger catering order. We weren't overly hungry, so we decided to share one dish, the chicken korma, and get a couple of naan (one regular, one bullet). My husband ordered a chai but we were brought two, I mentioned I hadn't ordered it, and our server said that it would be taken care of. Our meal came out piping hot, the curry itself was super flavorful. I enjoyed it. The naan was average, my husband said he liked the chilis as it added spice since I prefer and order curries with lower levels of spice. The curry came with rice so it was a good amount of food for us. If you're hungry though, I'd say one entree per person would probably be the right amount. When it was time to pay the bill, a different server came by and charged us for all items (including the extra chai). So that was a little disappointing having to pay for something I didn't order. Service was a bit on the slower side. Overall, 3.5 stars. I wouldn't say no to coming back here but given there are several other Indian restaurants in the area, I may try those before returning. read more

The dining room is tired and hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in many years. The smell as you walk in is, to be charitable, less than appetizing. I had a simple dish (tandoori chicken leg with rice). The chicken was dry and the seasoned rice was so salty I could not eat it. There was a lot of it though. It would have been too expensive had the food been good, and it wasn't. We ordered food from here for to go and it was delicious. Chicken biryani, bathura (fried dough), chicken curry and paneer makhani. The place was packed and they are open during the holidays. I do not have pictures but trust me we licked the platter clean. It could have been great if they could include raita (yogurt) along with the rice as the biryani and chicken curry was spicy even though we requested for mild. All of the entrees come with side of rice. I don't know how they cook it but so flavorful and buttery. It's tasty by itself. I went in for a take-out order. Simple order of 4 dosa. I checked before placing the order and was told it would take about 15 minutes. I placed the order and after about 10 minutes, the guy tells me that it's busy and it might take around 30 minutes. 45+ minutes of waiting and I checked again. I was told - "Yes. You need to wait. This is North Indian cuisine (and some South mixed in). Let's see how it goes! It is traditionally served with ice in an old fashioned glass (also known as a rocks glass). I'm impressed! It is served with a high quality, round ice cube with two amarena cherry garnishes. It is quite strong. I'm not sure if they used any simple syrup or a muddled sugar cube. The bitters is also MIA. I taste only liquor, but hey, who am I to complain? They used Maker's Mark. No wonder it's so good! 90 proof! For my first appetizer, I'm trying the "Chaat Papdi" which is boiled garbanzo beans mixed with fruit and chutneys, topped with crisp dal waders and puffed rice. It is garnished with yogurt and fresh cilantro. The immediately brought out the mint and tamarind sauce. This dish is big and meant for two. The wafers are very crunchy. This has kick too. The sauces are used with the appetizer. I love the it! For my soup, I'm having their mulligatawny soup. Mulligatawny is a soup which originated from South Indian cuisine. The name originates from the Tamil words miḷagu ( 'black pepper'), and taṇṇi (, 'water'); literally, "pepper-water". It is related to the dish rasam. Main ingredients commonly include chicken, mutton, and lentils. According to the Oxford Companion to Food, the simplest version of the soup included chicken or mutton, fried onion, and spices. More complex versions may call for "a score of ingredients". Versions originating in southern India commonly called for lentils. It is hot and very yummy! I think it's a little lighter then the South Indian version. Cute bowl. I taste an unusual ingredient at the bottom. I have no idea what it is. They also use tandoori chicken in it! For my salad , I'm having the "Onion and Chili" salad . This is new to me. It's red onions and green chili pepper with a brown spice of some sort. Those peppers are hot so I only had a few slices. There is also a slice of lemon to sprinkle too. I'm also trying a side of "mixed pickles." I believe those are vinegarized mango . I used to hate this. I no longer do. It is salty so beware. For many, this is an acquired taste! I have acquired it. It's official. I have clearly baffled the server. She was talking to two other employees and looking my way. I'm not sure you. I think she is baffled that I order one item at a time. For my next drink, I'm having the "Taj Mahal." I just saw the bartender shake that mixing cup for a LONG TIME! I heard it was made of run, pineapple juice and grenadine. It's not strong, (like zero alcohol), but otherwise tastes good ! The long shake or just too little alcohol (or both or none at all) could explain the taste. For my entree, I'm having the "Andhra Chicken Curry" which is actually a South Indian style chicken curry with a chef special Andhra Masala sauce. This is a very complicated sauce to make! Yikes! This is real good ! It's hot, spicy and delicious! Low cholesterol too. For dessert , I'm having the "Gajjar Halwa" which are shredded carrots cooked over hours with ghee and a blend of nuts . The dish of real warm. Wow ! Is this good !!! Ghee is a type of clarified (butter from which all milk solids have been removed. The result is a clear, yellow butter that can be heated to higher temperatures before burning) butter, originating from the Indian subcontinent. The area outside looks pretty sketchy but decided to go in anyway because I really wanted Indian food and I was really trusting my fellow helpers with their raving reviews. I'm so glad I ate here! Started with gobi manchurian- super tangy, salty and spicy- just how I like. Would've preferred slightly less sauce so I could experience more crunch but it was still delicious. Next up was chicken tikka masala which was on point! Smaller portion size but still enough to share & dip your naan or dosa in, and also super flavorful. The shrimp biryani had plenty of shrimp and was cooked just right! There was a huge party that came in after our party of 3 that were getting served quickly and I was starting to feel slightly annoyed but the staff were very nice and courteous so I decided not to make a stink about it. Came for a late Saturday lunch and there was certainly a good crowd. The ambiance is cozy. The food is delicious spicy in the truest meaning of the term where you can taste the spice curry, paprika, cumin, garlic etc. the servers do ask for heat preference and we opted for spicy which was still enjoyable even for my 12 year old. The prices are fairly priced if shared. We ordered two entrees, an appetizer, and two orders of naan which was approximately $80. Came for Sunday lunch .... It was half occupied. We came in and we were checked by server to seat and then we ordered food . We took butter chicken , vegetable biryani , kadhi panner , dal makhani . Food was great but service was little slow. Server did suggested to order everything at once but we wanted more roti and for that we waited like 10 mins. Ambiance is decent and it looks it's a old restaurant with lot of awards . Food here is pricey with each entrée at least 15 to 20% above everywhere else - closer to $20. Has a good enough selection of vegetarian and non- vegetarian with a decent portion size and reasonable service. Though it was disappointing that they did not have any tea or coffee though they were selling it at six dollar listed price which is twice, anywhere else at 7 PM in the evening. Review location update! Love this restaurant! The food was delicious and definitely authentic. The atmosphere was very calm, but I have a feeling it make get busier earlier in a day because they serve buffet style as well, we went late. The staff is very honest and truthful when reviewing their own menu, they helped me make a selection that fit my taste. The portion sizes are perfect. Not too much not too little. The only thing, honestly speaking, it is in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood. As a matter of fact, we were worried after our Uber driver told us not to leave the restaurant and wonder about in the evenings after our meal lol. sidenote he was 100% correct, we stepped out and didn't even go too far before we were approached by a gentleman coming across the street to meet us. Even after we said we didn't want to talk to him. We decided to hang back in the restaurant and wait for our Uber to return and take us to the hotel. Just have to advise anyone. We were requested by vendors to have dinner here, it seems so many people that attended the convention came here for dinner. The place was so packed, sit where you find a seat. I had to find a chair to pull up where we had a booth. I dont want to say they were understaffed, I believe they had no idea there was a convention in town and that many people would show up. Staff was very nice and did everything in their power to offer the best possible service. We got a few apps, I only tried the chili chicken which wasnt anything special for me. The goat curry from the main course was very good, the gravy was key to this dish. If you are looking for indian food near the strip, this may be your best bet. This restaurant was recommended by my husband's client as the best Indian food in the city. He's Indian so we took his recommendation seriously and it didn't disappoint. They have an extensive menu, probably more extensive than two of my old haunts, Bombay House in Utah and Lovash in Philly. The flavors of the vegetable korma and curried chickpeas were perfect. Best korma I've had hands down. The area of town is a little sketchy and the facility is a bit run down but it appeared clean. I gave 4 stars because the ambience was a little awkward for an anniversary dinner and our spice levels were served in reverse. But, Veena was an attentive server and very pleasant. We will return.
