If history is any indication, it's difficult to maintain a level of superior service, food Quality, and guest service with the passage of time - but Mon Ami Gabi is still bucking the trend. We've probably visited 10 or more times over the years and we've always had a great experience. This week we were delighted to have Brian as our server. Brian was engaging, friendly, and he even let me place an order off of the brunch menu a few minutes early. I was also very placed with the quality of the decaffeinated coffee. This is an item that most restaurants don't do very well, but here it is delightful. The ambience of the room remains unparalleled, and of course the views are spectacular. Great brunch spot on the strip, delicious breakfast options and cocktails. We made it to lunch today after a few late nights so we tried the summer prix frix menu. Beautiful summer fresh salads or a cold soup for first course, French dip, burger or another salad for the second course. Finally your options for dessert are chocolate mousse, citrus tarte or tiramisu. We both got a burger which was hearty and both cooked to perfection, a generous serve of fries is included. A very filling meal for $40, great food, perfect temperature in a beautiful setting with strip views and good air conditioning. The BEST French restaurant I've been to. I've visited the Washington, D.C. location, but the Las Vegas restaurant is on another level. Everything was top tier. The deviled eggs were incredible, especially with the herb sauce underneath--we couldn't get enough of it. Beware of the bread and butter. It sounds silly to rave about, but I could happily make a meal out of that alone. The steak frites were hands down the best I've ever had. The fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly salted, and the steak was cooked exactly to the chef's recommended temperature. Recommend everyone should try this restaurant at least one time. Food is fine dining quality, service is quick, price is reasonable, ambience is casual with its own personality and a view that shows the Bellagio fountains. My friend and I were in Vegas looking for a good lunch spot and after browsing a couple of forums we found many recommendations for Mon Ami Gabi. Much to our delight they were also running a summer lunch promotion so we were a key to get 3 courses for one low price so we made a reservation for the following day. We walked in and were promptly sat outside and had a great view of the Bellagio fountain. We told the waitress we wanted to order the summer lunch special and she seemed visibly annoyed and even rolled her eyes and said ok and walked away. She didn't bother taking our order and came back after we asked another waiter where she went and that we were ready to order. We both ordered the same meal of a steak sandwich with fries and a chocolate mouse for dessert. The food was very tasty and the accompanying sauce to the sandwich was a perfect accompaniment and the fries were definitely made fresh. However, before we were both even done with our main course our dessert was brought out along with the check and we hadn't even been there for 30 minutes. It seems she was pushing us to leave and it made us very uncomfortable and feel unwanted. We even left a generous tip on her card machine when she walked by because we needed to split checks and she barely said two words to us not even a thank you or wishing us a good trip. Overall this is an okay restaurant. Service can be a bit slow though. Ordered the steak frites and it's a decent steak but I'm sure there are plenty other spots in Vegas with better ones for the same price point. The French onion soup is very flavorful but a bit too salty. The star for me for some reason is the profiterole dessert which has a yummy chocolate sauce. Inside the glass house area is cute but hard to say if it's worth it. I went here for brunch and overall it was just alright. We sat outside and it is right across from the Bellagio. The fountain show starts at 3pm weekdays and noon on weekends. Our server from France was amazing and the highlight of the visit. My food (crab cake Benedict) came out cold. Overrated view, frost bite steak and unattentive servers. I was excited to try this restaurant which is across from the Bellagio fountains serving Parisian food at the Paris Hotel. I made a reservation hoping to get a patio seat but was told its first come first serve and we waited for 10 mins more for our table on the second row of the patio. We ordered the filet mignon with frites and mashed potato and also the salmon on green peas. The steaks tasted like freezer burnt meat and I would have made better steaks from the grocery store. You'll have to pay $7 if you want bread. About the view, if you don't get the first row then you won't get a good view as the tables are close together and there are umbrellas in the way that will block your view of the fountains which came on every 15 minutes. We finished off with the apple tart which tasted alright. Girls be aware that the chairs are woven seats which means it will leave a checkered mark on the back of your thighs if you're wearing shorts or skirts. I have a mixed reaction to this restaurant. We were staying in the Paris hotel and decided that we wanted our first bite to eat at a restaurant inside to embrace the Parisian theme. We decided on Mon Ami Gabi as a group of about seven of us . We didn't much care for where we sat as long as we got to eat. We were initially sat in the inside dining. Two members of our table had gotten an appetizer and as we were finishing up the appetizers. Some glasses nearby broke behind our table, and we had shards of glass land on the table and even across the table hitting members of our party from all corners of the table not just the person closest to the glass shattering. There was glass that landed on essentially everyone at the table. In our glasses and on the appetizer as well as scattered amongst the table Thankfully, the appetizer was almost done. They graciously moved us to a different table and replaced our glasses. The funny part is that they did not mention any type of extending any sort of discount or comping of any item for the big inconvenience and hazardous situation. One of the members at my table, had to explicitly ask if her appetizer could be comped as nothing was offered. However, we were all paying separately and we were all affected by the glass so then I asked if there could be a discount applied to the table for the inconvenience. The experience was a turn off as I felt we had to barter for a discount. They wanted to initially give us 10% after requesting and then I kindly asked if we could at least be raised to 15%. after they agreed to the 15% then there was three back-and-forth exchanges of our bills until the proper discount was reflected on them. A little bit disappointed at that interaction because it's such a nice restaurant and it felt that as guests we were undervalued and had to endure a weird experience that I thought was more of an obvious approach to handle the situation without having to barter. The fault was not with our waiter, Chris. Chris was fabulous. He really helped out. He was really kind and patient with us. He helped mediate with our table and his manager the whole situation and discount request. Knocking off a couple stars just for that experience otherwise I enjoyed my particular entrée inside dish. This trip, I opted to spoil myself and order the "Fruits de Mer" seafood tower which includes: oysters on the half shell, Huge shrimps, an entire lobster, and salmon tartare, and all the proper accoutrements. This was a perfect impromptu evening. We had gone to the Eiffel Tower the night before for dinner but didn't get the escargot nor steak tartare and we wanted it so we talked about going back but I did a quick search and Mon Ami Gabi was higher rated and literally right next to it so we decided to give it a try. We asked for spots at the bar and I think we ended up getting the best seats in the house, which happened to be at the bar that faces the strip. We got the escargot and steak tartare...the escargot is perfect in all of its garlicky glory and the steak tartare melts in your mouth. Our server was cordial; however something went wrong with our entree order & he needed to take it again halfway through our appetizer. The food was surprisingly underwhelming. 2 artichokes, 3 steaks, 1 salmon, 1 side salad, 1 side asparagus, 1 side spinach, one glass of wine, & a Pellegrino cost about $330.07 with tax but without tip. Having walked by here numerous times and talking to friends, we made a dinner reservation. It was crowded on a Saturday night and sadly for us, they sat us next to the kitchen door. Need I say more? Our server was amazing, always made sure we had exactly what we needed and was very personable! Onion soup was rich and delicious. The trout was tender with a nice crunchy element from the almonds. Our server suggested the surf n' turf special which was fantastic as well. He even brought us a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary! A great traditional French restaurant where everything is executed well. Would definitely recommend trying out the patio at night to see the Bellagio fountains too! read more
