We went during dinner time and there was little lighting in the room, I think more lighting should be added. There was one other party eating and us, with on server. Our was friendly and introduced us to their menu. We ordered the foufou and fish fataya. Some menu items were sold out. We waited quite longer than expected. The fataya tasted delicious and the dipping it came with. The foufou tasted fine but the lamb pieces felt a bit tough to eat and not much meat in them. This spot is so amazing. I have to come back to try their red snapper. They were unfortunately sold out. I'd never tried cynical food before, but was craving something different. The service was amazing when we were ordering in the restaurant and I would love to dine inside in the future. We ordered the tilapia and the oxtail stew. The owner knows how to work with allergies (dairy and peanuts). They offer vegan and vegetarian options too! The owner and her kid are both super patient and understanding of kid ADHD/neurodivergents. It will take time to wait for your meals (we shared among the table). BUT overall service is quick and just one person/the owner. Any foodie out there looking for a punch of flavors, you'll love Senegalese cuisine. It's only our 2nd restaurant eating Senegalese food. The 1st restaurant we tried was the popular Calabash. But they serve mixed cuisines (Senegalese and Gambian), and the wait over our last visits just isn't worth visiting anymore. The SO slookes Calabash (Senegalese/Gambian) flavors better. I like Le Bon Gout Chez Fa because they can address allergies/dietary needs with certainty. . (Pounded yam) This dish is decadent, rich and a little sweet. One of my favorites, a lot of work goes into making this recipe and it is amazing here. Five stars. I admired the beautiful music playing, the artwork and the generous kindness from the family to everyone who entered during my dinner which sweetened the taste of my meal. My fellow travelers to Las Vegas were given huge complimentary bags of African steamed peanuts for our plane rides and journeys home. Everyone out there with an amazing mother can relate to this gesture and act of kindness. The peanuts are amazing here. Five stars. This restaurant opened the summer before my first meal here. It's the dream of the family who owns it to bring African food and traditions to the community here. Unbelievable! We had the honor of being hosted by the sister who is running the show with her family and was an experience I cannot telling my family and friends about. We had a handful of dishes because it all looked and sounded so good. ALL HALAL TOO! Sister brought out the special homemade spicy sauce which we had to get more of and we drank multiple cups of her special ginger tea. Always wanted to try new cuisine and this Senegalese restaurant does not disappoint. Tried the oxtail stew (which is not in the menu) with the cassava fufu & they were so delicious and so filling. Also tried the national dish of Senegal Thiebou jeun/ Thieboudienne, with fish, veggies and the jollop rice. I don't know the spices that they put in the jollop rice but it was so flavorful. The fish was a bit dry but turned out okay when paired with the complimentary house made super spicy sauce. Use a very small amount as I'm not kidding when I said super duper spicy -- and we love spicy food! We tried the fried sweet banana to balance this savory dish. The oxtail soup was hands down the best--my partner, who's a bit picky with food, absolutely loved it! He finished it off with foufou. The grilled lamb chops were another favorite; they were super tender, and the onion sauce added the perfect touch. We also tried the dibbi Senegal, which was flavorful, but some of the meat was a bit tough to chew. We also had the plantains, which were perfectly sweet , and the tropical juice was super refreshing. The ditakh was a nice finish to the meal--so refreshing! WOW! I've officially found my new favorite restaurant in Vegas! My boyfriend is Muslim, so we were on the hunt for a good Halal restaurant. I've never had Senegalese food before so I figured it would be an experience to try. What a true culinary delight! What we ordered: Dibi guinar (grilled chicken) with jollof rice Oxtail stew with fufu Yassa jeun My son had the grilled chicken. The chicken was flavorful, moist, and spice blend was wonderful! My oxtail with fufu was sooooooo good. Oxtail was fall off the bone tender. Fufu flavor was on point and perfect to sop up the stew. Yassa jeun was the star of the show. That onion reduction sauce and artistically seasoned lemon fish completely scratched all the pathways of our brain! We'd never tasted anything like it, and it was truly an honor to be able to eat it. If you like fish and there's one thing you have to decide between to get, let it be this!!! Sadly we didn't get ANY photos of our food, as we couldn't stop eating it as soon as it hit our mouth! We came in not feeling our best and Fatima, the owner, and her two lovely children took care of us as if we were their family. She brought out hot water with lime, chopped up garlic, and even brought us an onion concoction that was a homemade, generationally passed down recipe to cure colds. Once I finished eating her magical food I was already starting to feel better. After the garlic and lime tea, even better. Once I went home and drank her onion elixir.... I was fully healed! I never knew this restaurant existed until I saw an ad that popped up. Had had some Senegalese food before but not lately. The Le Bon Gout chicken sandwich was delicious with a good seasoning and sauce. The fataya, a meat pie which is like a samosa, was wonderful, and its red sauce was zingy and flavorful. I have lived on four continents and have always been a huge fan of plantains. Their serving of plantains is generous and they are done perfectly. Last but not least are the beignets. These beignets are of a fantastic texture with a very tasty seasoning. I'm not sure if it's seven spice seasoning, but it is really really one of my favorite things now. The servings are large enough that I had two meals from this order. Even the next day, everything was fantastic. I look forward to returning very soon to try more of their delights. read more

This restaurant was an amazing first experience with Senegalese food, the oxtail stew was fall-off-the-bone tender, the lamb and onions were bursting with flavor, and the eggrolls were flaky, fresh, and unique! From the appetizers (Fataya & Nem) to the lamb stew with onion sauce, the stewed fish, grilled and then fried fish, the grilled lamb (sorry for not specifying the names of the dishes) - not one dish disappointed or was just "good." Each one hit! After every bite of food we were all like, "wow." The flavors were so complex, layered and so balanced. We can't wait to come back to try all the other dishes. The service was amazing- their hospitality was so heartfelt. It was just Fatima (namesake of the restaurant) in the kitchen while her husband Omar held down the front, so we understood that things might take a while. A family of 10 walked in right after us and not to mention the to go orders coming in too, so they were working super hard to make sure everyone didn't feel forgotten about. When the food came out though, the wait was more than worth it! After we took a bite of our food we were like "Oh, we get it!" Fatima came out to greet us in her beautiful pink outfit shortly after we were served (she looking amazing while she was working hard in the kitchen) and thanked us for coming. She went around to all the tables and being able to see/meet the chef behind all the magic was just the best touch as we were tasting all the deliciousness in front of us. Where do I start? Le bon Goût chez Fa is a small eatery place off the strip in Las Vegas. The place is tucked in a small corner of a grocery store with no noticeable sign for advertisement. I hope the owners will work on their marketing strategy and create more visibility. Once they overcome that " handicap ", chef Fatima will dazzle you with her mastery of seasonings for fish, chicken and lamb. She has harnessed the ability to recreate recipes passed down from generations of home makers. The flavors , the scents the hospitality are all there to make you feel welcome in a city where all is transient, here you can take a load off, seat down and enjoy a nicely made authentic dish, drink a cold bissap and top it off with some tchiakry (dessert).
