It's been a long time since I've dined in at an Indian restaurant and I was very happy about the quality and pricing at this place! The Chicken Tikka Masala was very good- I loved the balance in the flavors. What really stood out however was the Saag Paneer- I loved the texture and the flavor! The Naan was more flaky than fluffy which personally I like fluffy better, but it wasn't oily and was fairly good. The staff were really nice and accommodating, wore masks at all times, and never rushed us out. Definitely come here if you are craving Indian food! Tasty Indian restaurant! I've had the goat coconut, lamb curry, goat vindaloo, aloo paratha, and garlic naan. The goat is so TENDER, and definitely better than the lamb. I got the vindaloo in mild due to concern if the spice was too much, and it indeed wasn't spicy. Aloo paratha is a large portion stuffed with spices, potatoes, and veggies. I still love the food at India Quality BUT the service has changed a lot. They have a few new servers and we haven't had the best experience with them. One of the last times we visited my bf ordered "chicken tikka," meaning the chicken tikka masala. A new server brought it over and we said that it was the wrong item because we had meant the masala. He had an attitude about it and told us we would have to pay in full for it if we sent it back because they already cooked it. We then asked for the masala sauce on the side, and we were charged for it. It was the TINIEST amount of sauce for how much chicken came with the appetizer. Among my favorites are the samosas (always crispy!), chicken tikka masala, chicken jalfrezi, lamb vindaloo, chicken methiwala, and aloo gobhi. I came here for lunch with my friend on a Friday afternoon. The place was full, but the service was still great. My friend was craving Indian food and this place definitely satisfied that craving. We got the shrimp and lamb lunch specials. They have jumbo sized shrimp and the lamb was had a good texture to it. I got medium spice and it was a good amount, spicy enough, but not overly spicy. The mango lassi was very orange in color, typically I've heard it to be more yellow like mango. The rice portion for two people was pretty small, so my friend asked if we could get another rice for no extra charge. The waiter said yes, we received the extra rice, but later came back to tell us they don't give free extra rice for lunch (they only do this for dinner) after finishing it. Slightly annoying, but the extra rice was another $2 charge. If you're craving Indian food and you're in the area, I'd recommend this place. read more

Ordered on Uber Eats. Methi paratha - couldn't find methi in the paratha. Garlic chicken - tasted boiled chicken in some gravy - didn't taste any garlick. Too much water with chicken pieces swimming in it. Achari Gobi mutter. 5-6 mutter in something that did not taste achari at all. I am from NJ therefore understand quality Indian food in the US. This restaurant has a lot of work to do to come even close to the most mediocre restaurants in NJ. Samosa is too oily. Very disappointed. Have to keep looking for a decent Indian restaurant in Boston. IMO Restaurants should not use frozen Chicken to cook! Check out Mirchi Nation in Marlborough for good Indian food. I had dinner here with a bunch of friends on Monday night. Overall, I'd say that the experience was okay. We had made a reservation ahead of time, so we were quickly seated. In terms of food, we ordered and ate family style. In addition to the various curries that we ordered, we also ordered samosas, bowls of bread, and mango lassi. The service was great and the waiters were very courteous. The food was okay, but not great especially given the relatively high prices and small portions. Starting with the samosas, I thought that they were a bit bland. I would have preferred it to have more spices and flavor. The mango lassi was okay, but it was a bit more sour and less thick than I had anticipated; there was also a lot of ice in it, which meant that if you waited to drink it later, it would get fairly diluted from the melt. The curries in general were decent tasting, but noticeably lacking in spices. Most of the dishes we ordered were about the medium spice range, yet didn't taste spicy at all. One of my friends had specifically ordered one of the curries to be super spicy, but it didn't taste much more spicy than the other ones. The freshly baked bread bowls that we got didn't look or taste very freshly baked either, which was a bit of a disappointment. Overall, I'd say that the service here is great and that the food here is mediocre. The food is also fairly pricey and the portion sizes are relatively small compared to similar Indian restaurants. read more

Has to be the most disgusting food I have ever received. Ordered beef vindaloo and chicken tandoori and I was literally eating stale and sour food. The chicken was literally like eating a card board and no flavor at all. The vindaloo was sour so sour we actually thought it was expired at all. Great Indian spot in Kenmore Square. I stopped in for lunch today after hearing that they were the #1 rated Indian place in Boston on Zagat. The inside is clean and well-decorated. Service was great - we were seated promptly and our orders were brought out within 15 minutes. We ordered from the lunch specials. I got a chicken tikka masala ($8.95) and a mango lassi ($3.10), while my partner got a chicken saag ($8.95) and an order of garlic naan ($3.50). The lunch specials came with free basmati rice. The chicken tikka masala was buttery, flavorful, and warm, with big chunks of tender white meat chicken in the thick sauce. I liked it better than the chicken saag, which didn't have as much sauce, and hence didn't work as well with the basmati rice (which was a little on the dry side). The garlic naan was a bit expensive ($3.50), but it was delicious and had a nice, strong garlic taste. Overall, I left feeling full and satisfied. Tonight's order was Vegetable samosas Saag tikki Tarka daal Chicken curry Lamb saag Shrimp vindaloo Basmati rice Assorted naans (garlic, onion plain) Each dish was aromatic, flavorful and played well with the others. The food I got was good but unfortunately my order wasn't complete. I called to let them know and they instructed me to contact DoorDash since that is who handles their deliveries. Oh India Quality........ I haven't been here for many years but had eaten there very frequently before I moved away from Boston. The owners appeared to be the same but the recipes and quality definitely wasn't. I first noticed the difference when I saw the onion chutney on the table. It used to be a thinner more vinegary flavor. It was very thick and pasty this time. And much spicier. The next thing is that they no longer brought poppadoms to the table. They were on the menu for $2 for two pieces. I ordered some and enjoyed them. We also ordered a vegetarian appetizer platter but they brought out a meat one. I wasn't sure if it was the meat one til we started nibbling it. I had been debating between the two so we just rolled with it and kept it. Mistake! The meats were so dried out and didn't taste fresh. The veg parts of it were okay. We ordered Coconut Korma, with chicken. The chicken was okay. The coconut korma used to be a rich, complex flavorful korma with a hint of sweet coconut flavor. What I was served today was watery, one-dimensional and sweet. I was actually embarrassed that our entree was so bland. My husband was shocked by the lack of flavor since I had talked about my many fond experiences at this location. We ordered Aloo Naan, described as "potato and pea naan". There were no peas and it was kind of "flabby" in texture. Not tender or fluffy. We also ordered Poori and it was not very good. Not crispy. Deflated quickly. Super oily, even for poori. Disappointing. The portion was kind of small on the korma entree so we got an extra side of masala sauce. It was very tomato-y but kind of reminded me of Campbell's tomato soup. It too lacked a spicy complexity but was rich and enjoyable. We brought leftovers home but couldn't get ourselves to eat them. This was one of my favorite restaurants in Boston so I wish them all the very best. This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Why, India Quality, WHY must you be all the way on the East Coast?? Customer service here was amazing. My sister joked that our water glasses never went lower than half an inch from the top of the glass before a waiter was swooping in to refill it. A part of me wonders if the staff is extra conscious that some Westerners may not be used to how spicy some of the food is? In any case, as someone who falls into this category, I was grateful and gulped my water down as quickly as it was refilled. We got: Saag paneer (5/5): This was a dish that I wished our group had doubled up on .. It's hard to go wrong with this dish, but India Quality manages to get it very, very right. The spinach isn't overly oily, and the best part of the dish is always the paneer, a soft, mild Indian cheese. Chicken korma (5/5): After the saag paneer, this was my favorite. Tender chunks of chicken are bathed in a slightly sweet curry sauce that begs to be soaked up with naan and rice. I unashamedly used naan to get at the very last dregs in the bowl, even after the meal was over and and we were all stuffed. It's just THAT good. Malai kofta (4.5/5): This tasted like a vegetarian version of the chicken korma. Both dishes have a wonderfully creamy sauce, although this one was sweeter than the chicken korma. I slightly prefer the chicken korma but would readily order both again. I like how both dishes have cashews that add a nice nuttiness to the flavor. Lamb vindaloo (3.5/5): This was good, but way too spicy for me to take more than a couple bites ... And this was after we asked for a mild spiciness! I can only imagine how spicy the full-blown version of this would be! Chicken tikka masala (3.5/5): Even when we asked for a medium-level of spiciness, it was a little too spicy for my taste and some of the chicken was kind of dry. My sister told me this dish is the "orange chicken" of Chinese food (meaning heavily Americanized). I liked nearly everything, but I'd probably pass on this next time. We also got an order of garlic naan and paneer naan. I expected the latter to have more of a cheesy taste (kind of like cheesy bread), but I couldn't taste the paneer at all. I've had better garlic naan, but no matter; naan is more of a vehicle for scooping up all the yummy, saucy main dish entrees, and each dish came with more than enough basmati rice. This indian restaurant had me at a loss for words as this food was so scrumptious and delicious. The first food that was so good was the chicken tikka masala. I loved this meal because you could choose which level of spice you would enjoy. We munched on the medium level and it was very good when paired along with rice and naan which almost makes a perfect Indian burrito. We also wanted to enjoy some drinks which came rapidly fast after we ordered them thanks to the amazing service of our waiters. Finally, to end off the night we weren't going to get any dessert but got offered free ice cream on the house which was the cherry on top for this restaurant. This place put the QUALITY in India Quality. We came in pretty late on a Friday night and were seated immediately in a very good spot. I loved that we got a nice seat even with a larger party. (we were a party of 5) We ordered drinks that came out timely and then ordered our meals. The Chicken Tikka Masala was wonderful and very flavorful and the naan bread paired perfectly.
