Went here for lunch- We were the only diners until halfway thru our meal. Then a couple came in. the owner sat in a booth across from us to chat. The food was yummy. We had the lunch special, entree, samosa, rice, naan, and chutneys. I had Saag chicken and she had Butter chicken. We both enjoyed our meals. They have an extensive menu. Note*** This was yesterday*** I had the SAAG (spinach curry an cottage cheese) towhich was really good actually. Ma had the Channa Palak (chickpea an spinich) an it was good until one of the spices hits you an made it spicy. Not sure what kind of rice they ordered but that was also spicy an we drizzled some sauce... I believe, to calm that level down. We were also sad how there was no ice-cream, everybody kept getting it because of the weather- i dont blame them though... other than that, the food was good. Well. Ordered some takeout for dinner. Boyfriend picks it up. We ordered butter chicken, butter shrimp, chicken tikka masala and some garlic naan. What we received is 3 orders of chicken tikka masala. When we called the restaurant they insisted everything was there and correct. Really poor attitude... I just wanted my shrimp. Naan is soggy with raw garlic on it. That being said the dish we got 3 of- the chicken tikka- it's really good. Customer service was awful and we will not go back. Instead of offering a refund they said it was not possible. Offered to make the order correct but I would have to drive back and pick it up? No thanks. read more

This place totally would have received 5 stars however when my boyfriend and I received our $3 chai teas the cup wasn't even full. For reference these are probably 8-10 oz foam cups that were half full. I definitely won't order their chai again. My Chicken Tikki Masala was on point. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to! I'm from Los Angeles and it was hard finding good authentic Indian food until I found Indian Bistro. The secret is the fact that both of the chefs are from India! I ordered Malai Kofta (veggie balls) in creamy sauce and saag. They went above and beyond making the veggie balls gluten free! The saag was delicious and perfectly spicy. They just moved down the street from their old place so make sure you call and get the right address. I want to begin with, when you ask for mild, it should not cause your mouth to burn and your eyes to water. I have capsaicin allergies and this is why I asked for MILD Butter Chicken, but what I got was far from mild. My husband who does hot food said it was close in spice to his heat. The flavor was good, but it wasn't worth a possible anaphylactic episode. The Garlic Naan was delicious. Everyone else either ordered hot or Indian Hot, so I get there was likely a mix up, but it could have been very bad. As it was I ended up throwing up in the bathroom in order to prevent an issue. I went here last week with my boyfriend, we were greeted by a man who said the waitress walked out so he was taking over. He said he was one of the chefs. He was very kind and did a great job. The food was OK. Truly it seemed like it wasn't fresh, I thought maybe it had been microwaved or heated up in a pot from the night before. The garlic naan had a lot of raw garlic on it. I was here in January 2023. Walked in at 4.50 PM and got server at 6.00 PM. Chicken curry had no flavor and chicken biriyani was essentially the chicken curry mixed with white rice with a ton of rose water poured on it. Made it a point to mention this to the waiter and he had said every biriyani is different style. When I mentioned how I make biriyani to tell him I was not a novice, he said the chef was new. Food is the best, everytime I am in the area I stop by. The Califlower appitizer is a great starter for your taste buds and the Chicken Tikka Masala is a great entre. Racist Staff Member: My husband called today (4/11/21 @ 7pm) to place an order. (We've ordered from here before, speaking with a man, and never had issues.) The lady who answered the phone today asked my husband how to spell his first name. He spelled it out for her more than once, letter by letter, saying "D as in David" etc. as needed. It's a common Indian name, almost the same as the owner's name actually. She seemed distracted and said "I hope I didn't spell it wrong" and then spells it wrong. My husband says, that's incorrect. She unnecessarily says, "Your accent made it hard for me to understand." My husband says, "What accent? I spelled it out for you, can I speak to someone else?" She said she's the only server. So we canceled and hung up. There was NO reason for her to be racist (and yes, that's racism, it's called a microaggression) and blame her mistake on some "accent". What accent was she hearing? We're from NYC, that's the accent we have. If you're a server and you can't listen, it's poor customer service to blame the customer. DON'T work at an Indian restaurant if you can't understand Indian names being spelled out to you 3 times, letter by letter. Ordering from an Indian restaurant is the last place we expected to experience racism. BTW: We've been here in-person & this establishment has some non-Indian (or non-South Asian) staff. Nothing wrong with that, but if you're in customer service dealing with people of color, you need cultural awareness and sensitivity. No excuse for racism and ignorance in 2021. read more

My husband and I just visited Indian Bistro after searching for Indian food in Clearwater. We are both happy with the decision to give it a try. The food was great. My husband had Tikka Masala with Lamb and he enjoyed it very much. I had Butter Chicken and it was great. The Samosa's were tasty and cooked wonderfully. The owner, I believe his name was Sandy, was very helpful and explained everything that was on the menu that we were interested in. He definitely helped us get exactly what we were wanting. The only reason I did not give a five star is the waitress ( Brielle) could have been a little more attentive to us. She never checked on us and we had to ask her for everything from the check to the To- Go Containers for our leftovers. I understand that she is new, and I wish her well - I suggest that maybe to help her better herself and the service she provides to customers, she should possibly shadow another waiter/waitress and learn from them everything from how to check on your customers to learning what the items are on the menu. For instance I asked what a certain item was - and she was quick to let me know that she did not know what was in it. Thankfully, the owner overheard this and came over to assist- which I appreciated. He saved me from ordering something that would have been too spicy for my palate. There are better Indian restaurants in the Bay Area (Deccan Spice, Bay Leaves) but Deeya is close to my school and Indian food is my favorite so I've eaten here more times than I've really wanted. The food is good but not consistently; I think that's due to the change in ownership that happened last year. Today I noticed the buffet has been moved to the center of the room and they've added paintings of Marilyn Monroe and a VW Beetle which take away from the Indian vibe. Although Indian music video was playing on the TVs, they were muted and a record player situated in the center of the room was playing Bluegrass of all genres to play in an Indian restaurant(???) Why?? I find it odd when the music and decor don't match the theme of the restaurant. Add inconsistent food and it makes me question the authenticity. Still, my Indian food cravings will probably bring me back since Deccan Spice is another 15 minutes away. read more

We decided to have dinner there on Thanksgiving, and I'm so thankful that we did! It was indeed awesome! Looks like they have a lunch buffet but we're there for dinner. Ordered Poori bread with mango chutney. Very good as expected. Ordered both vegetable and meat Samosa. Vegetable was OK but meat was amazing. Ordered lamb Korma, Chicken Masala, Lamb Curry, and chicken Korma. All were amazing but the best was chicken Masala. The big surprise was the Mango Lassi. It's a sweet drink, a little thick, and tastes amazing. The waiter was very nice, very helpful and friendly. Service was quick and very attentive but not too much. Great experience. I ordered on Ubereats because of the good yelp reviews and once again I was disappointed. The chicken tikka massala was wayyy to spicy for a medium and it lacked flavor!!! The color was off as well and was it was very watery!! IThe chicken was dry and tasted very old as well! The rice was also stale and old!
