I'm so happy we found this place. Everything is absolutely delicious! We ordered the tandor chicken, butter chicken, garlic naan, mango chutney and rasmali. We devoured every last bit of each item. Everything was flavorful and yummy! However, their portion sizes are not very large so if you're hungry, make sure you order extra. The worst service I've had to deal with ever. The waitress is deceitful and a liar. My girlfriend order lamb curry and I ordered chicken tiki masala, these are two different colors of food. When our food came out they both had the same color of tiki masala sauce, when we asked is this really lamb curry the waitress flat out lied to us, so that she wouldn't have to take it back. Then to confirm is wasn't in fact lamb curry we asked the other waiter what food was on our table and he told us that is wasn't lamb curry. The waitress listening in on our conversation yells from the counter saying" if you not gonna eat it I'll remake it" the waiter goes to talk to the waitress, to see what's going on. 5 minutes pass and he comes back to tells us it was lamb curry. Lamb curry isn't the color red at Indian Cafe. So not only did the waitress lie to us, but she also made the waiter lie as well. We paid our food like any other customer, but best believe we'll never be back there again. read more

This adorably decorated restaurant is a destination spot. We were greeted by the owner who was extremely friendly. We had the garlic naan which was OUT OF THIS WORLD and butter chicken that was absolutely delicious. Perfect little stop on our drive home. Right off I-5. The tandoori chicken tikka masala and fish tikka masala were great for the kids. We also had the yummy chicken curry. Service was fantastic. Hands down the best India restaurant I've been to. The last one we went to was very disappointing so we were a bit skeptical. Sukhvinder, whom I'm assuming was the owner, was also our waiter/server. He came out to the car to greet us. Service was fantastic and the food was even better. We had the butter chicken, chicken tikka, veggie samosas and some tiki. All of which was phenomenal. The cafe is located right off i5 on highway 12 in Lodi, CA. The location is strange but the restaurant itself is quaint and elegant. As soon as you enter you instantly forget that you're in flag city. We'll definitely be returning. Next time without 4 small children but they were very patient and never batted an eye at our screaming 2 year old. read more

We ordered the chicken madras, butter chicken, veggie pakora and garlic naan. The food was very good. We did ask for it mild, although the spice did build a little bit it was not unbearable. Service was outstanding. We're looking forward to trying it again, and hopefully soon. read more

Excellent food! I love Indian food and am always on the lookout for an Indian restaurant that I haven't yet tried. Right at Flag City, India Cafe is just off of I-5 and is so close to where we boat in the Delta! They have a great menu with lots of choice. Very attentive service too! Meals we had were excellent, although a little spicier than we like. We asked for lowest spice level. TV playing all the time. Too loud for me. Hard to carry on conversation in restaurant. Man at counter not good at customer service. He seemed to understand most of what was said but didn't talk much and no smiles and not customer oriented. Tables for two too small. The food here is amazing. I had the Palak Paneer and Lamb curry twice and both times was to die for. After reading some of the reviews I feel pretty confident that if I try anything else I will love it. I Stopped by on my way to Oregon and was looking forward to my drive back to stop again. We were on the way home and looked for a place to eat. Indian Cafe was a delightful surprise! The restaurant is situated next to Starbucks. Forget all the fastfood restaurants along the way... Came here today to get my Indian food craving. A lot of places my husband and I have been trying are more spice than we like- so we went in not knowing if this would be the same. The people are very friendly and accommodating, we asked for low low spice and the food came out delicious. We ordered naan, chicken tikka masala and biryani rice.
