I went for 4 nights in the tent/cabin. It was really cold that week, right before big snow but there is electricity in cabin so I had a small heater and an electric blanket. I loved the place. The only dog side was one night a dog barked nearby for quite a while. Didn't bother me but others were getting frustrated. Cabin is great. I brought a small patio fire pit and really enjoyed seeing the stars by the fire. The bathrooms were good - campground potties but kept clean. LOVED the distance to the park. I was only going to go into the park one day but ended up going a couple of times because it was so close. The Merced River is across the street with a really cute park. After checking out, i spent the day at the park and enjoyed the river and surrounding birds. Definitely will be going back - distance, location, and campground itself. Stumbled upon this place seeing that it was the closest rv site to the entrance to Yosemite national park. We booked an rv site during thanksgiving week. The entrance can be steep, so if you have long trailers, there's a chance your rear will get scraped. The ground is gravel so there are no paved areas. Some sites have a divider but most do not so they appear as a pull through but it's really not. You pretty much have to gauge where you'll set up. Cell reception here is zero, but there's wifi provided by the lodge next door. It is definitely cold around this time, so pack warmly and have extra propane on hand. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Indian Flat RV Park for our anniversary trip at Yosemite Park. It's only a couple minutes away from the park entrance which made it super convenient. We were luckily able to check in a bit earlier at 2pm. Their office also has a store for you to purchase any last minute items (sunblock, water, firewood. Etc). We got the basic tent (#301) and it was pretty nice! Comes with a bed, electricity and a mini fridge. Unfortunately there is no fire pit outside but we used the bbq grill as a fire pit. We also had a mini table on the outside. The bathrooms are well kept and clean. The showers were free which was nice but the water didn't seem to get too hot. There's a couple of reasons why I docked down a couple stars. Even though we stayed in a tent, it did get pretty cold so I recommend bringing extra blankets and layers. There is also absolutely 0 service in this area. You can buy wifi for $10 a day (for 2 devices) but we didn't find it to be worth it. The biggest thing to look out for is BEARS. Granted we are in bear country but I didn't expect to run into them every night of our stay (2 nights). My boyfriend and I think the bears are pretty used to coming this campsite. There are signs everywhere on the campground warning about bears but it seems like some folks don't follow those rules - I would be careful walking around late at night. We were about 10 feet away from 1 the first night. With that being said, this was a pretty good campsite but I don't know if I would come back because of the bears (esp if you have to wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom). read more

Worst RV park we've experienced! When we checked in they said nothing about our spot. We proceeded to unhook our trailer, level it.... Once we're completely set up another RV pulls up and asks us to move forward so they will fit! (When we set up we thought, "wow-this is small!") Now we're sharing it!? No problem, of course we hook up and move so our neighbor can fit then unhook and set up again. Now we have to find a place for our car - that wasn't clear either. The office really should tell you these things WHILE checking in. Apparently this happens all the time; people are always having to shift RVs to make space. Finally, when pulling out of the park, the angle out of the driveway was so steep our small trailer scrapped on the road. The only saving grace was that they are close to Yosemite Park. read more

This was such a wonderful, fun stay! We planned a holiday weekend hiking around Yosemite National Park and missed the memo about how people book their lodging in the park eight months in advance! Geez! Therefore, we were looking for nearby options just outside of the park, and was so pleased to find Indian Flat RV Park. Indian Flat RV Park is a campsite that offers lots for RVs, tents and has their exclusive and basic tents. We booked one of their basic tents, which was definitely great and goes above than having your own tent, as the basic tent is already set up for you. The tent included a comfortable, queen-size bed, mini-fridge, ceiling fan, toiletries, towels, and there was also a small outdoor space to sit out on the deck or use a picnic table and grill that's designated for those with a basic tent. Because this is a campsite, you do have to share the bathroom and showers, but hey, you're out in the beautiful, countryside and are most likely here to hike around Yosemite so suck it up, buttercup. The bathrooms and showers were generally clean and I never had to wait. They do have private bathrooms for each gender, or a shared bathroom area and outdoor showers. I liked using the outdoor shower better where you look up and see the trees and open sky. If that doesn't scream wilderness then I don't know what does. Wifi is available for $10/day for up to two devices (but you should really just get off your device and enjoy the amazing scenery!). Although the site doesn't have a pool, they've partnered up with the neighboring hotel where Indian Flat campers can use the indoor and outdoor pool for free. There was also a restaurant and bar there, which made getting coffee and breakfast handy when we'd leave for the park before sunset. I would happily stay at Indian Flat RV Park again! Just outside of Yosemite National Park, it's located in the town of El Portal, which is half an hour away from the Yosemite Valley entrance. I would definitely come back here on my next Yosemite trip. When I was booking lodging, the basic tent was the only option available for $125/night. This RV park is located 10-15 away from the Yosemite NP entrance. Besides the basic tent, they also have RV spots and regular camping sites. It was fun driving by and seeing all the campfires and the tailgating groups. I felt safe the entire time there. We went in mid October and it was pretty cold. Don't be fooled by the basic tent thinking it is insulated because it is not. It does keep out the rain and protects you from wind, but it does get cold so pack accordingly. One night was 39 degrees. The amenities were great. Bed was comfy. Plenty of shampoo and body wash for our stay. Mini fridge was nice although we didn't really needed it. The shared amenities were sink, bathrooms and showers. Showers have hot water which was a godsend. Bathrooms were aplenty. There were 4 sinks and for the most part I never really had to wait to use one. I saw people using the sinks for brushing their teeth, washing dishes, and washing clothes. This RV park is dog friendly. I saw a few dogs loose and running around a few times. I wish they were more strict on keeping these pets on leashes. One thing I wished I was more aware of is that there is absolutely NO phone reception in El Portal. You have to purchase wifi or be completely disconnected. It's $10/night for two devices. I went to the Yosemite View Lodge for dinner (Parkside Pizza) and they had the same wifi issue and same wifi package. Next time I'd be interested in asking about their deluxe cabins. Great RV stay. Very spacious spaces and full hookups. You get a big bench with more than enough space to put out a slide out and awning all the way. Very quiet and staff was nice. It was also nice to feel welcomed to the lodge as well as there was amenities to them. One thing I would say to prepare for is the temperature on weather apps are not very accurate. We had pipes freeze up multiple times when it said the lowest it would get in the night was high 30's. Make sure to have a tank full before going to bed in case it takes a while for the pipes to thaw. Other than that, no complaints. They even handled our packages delivered very well and it was all very affordable and close to Yosemite which was the best part of it all! read more

For $30 per night for a tent site, I feel I got my money's worth. Toilets, sinks, showers always appeared clean. Campsites were not cleared of trash after campers left. You can use the pool, restaurant next door. They offer $9.99 per day internet through a third party. I did not use the facility next door or the internet. I stayed on tent site #14. The row I was in had mature shade trees.Tent sites are literally the size of a mall parking space. No problems with staff or reservations. Note weather at campground is warmer than Yosemite. My boyfriend & I stayed here this past weekend as a birthday trip. We rented one of their tent cabins & it was honestly pretty cute. Very simple, nothing over the top so if you don't like stuff like that maybe this wouldn't be the place for you. The room we had included a ceiling fan, fridge, bed (duh lol), pull out bed, & some night stands, but other than that no microwave which didn't really matter to me. Only had one outlet to charge our phones so that was a little inconvenient but the reception out there is terrible so we couldn't use out phones much anyway. WiFi is available but you have to pay $8.99 every 12 hours so after one day I had to pass. We're out in nature so why be on our phones anyway? This place is right next to the Merced River so it's super peaceful at night hearing the stream. Right underneath our tent (it was supported by some pillars sort of thing) there was a small stream as well so that added to the peacefulness. Be advised though that since they're tents you can hear ALL the noise going on everywhere lol They're located about 15 mins from Yosemite so that was pretty convenient to me. There weren't too many options of restaurants around the area aside from the Cedar Lodge restaurant next door to them so we ate there both days. I believe the closest town to them is about a 30 min drive but if you're inside Yosemite National Park there's little stores in there too. If you choose to stay here DO NOT forget to look up at the sky at night! The view from here is breathtaking! read more

Obviously the people that manage this property do not have the slightest idea of what an RV park user needs. The spot was super short and I had to unhook my truck from the the trailer cuz there isn't space. Mind you this is in November and needed to charge the battery to keep the heater/fridge running. There was no firepit or picnic table. The website said Wifi and water include, no. WiFi was an additional charge and no cell phone service. The attendant did not even look up from his phone or acknowledge me though out my check in. The entrance was quite steep and upon departure my hitch drug across the black top, there was no way of taking it at a different angle. I would have been better off in a roadside rest stop. read more

No hot water in the cabins, $200+ per night. We stayed here because we were hiking Half Dome in Yosemite and thought we'd like a little extra comfort over camping in the valley. Turns out, we would have been much more comfortable in our tent, and we would have had access to hot showers and cell phone service. We tried 2x to contact the owners about these issues, but it's been a couple of weeks with no reply. It's a shame -- this place could be so much better. Review for the Rock Cabin in the winter time. We like it but that is because we like rustic places. Don't expect the cleanest accommodation because this is still a cabin. It is not big and for 4 people it is a bit crowded. For what it is however, I think the cleanliness is sufficient. The heater can get noisy but if you set it a little higher, it won't bang noise in the middle of the night. I think some people would consider this as a 3 star but we are easy going and I like the place. The owner also owns Cedar Lodge and Yosemite Lodge (right in front of the entrance of Yosemite). The staff said we have access to the other facilities' outdoor pool and other amenities (ask for more details). Don't expect cell and data service. I have Verizon and there was no reception. I saw "Cedar Lodge" Wifi but I did not bother trying it. read more

Well, I can't say that I enjoyed my stay, because, in fact, we were only there about 10 minutes. I had called several days earlier, but never got anyone, and was unable to leave a message. When our family arrived, it took some time for the young man to find my name. That's when I started to get nervous. Then another man came out and told us that the cabin was clean, but because of Covid, it had to wait 24 hours to be occupied. So, they were moving us to the motel just down the road, and the room would be larger, and also would have a kitchenette like what we had originally reserved. I said, yeah, I understand. I know all this with Covid is beyond your control, and we left to the other place, Cedar Lodge. So we got there, and the beds WERE bigger, but NO KITCHENETTE. This was a problem, because we had brought food to prepare meals during our stay. There was a tiny fridge, but NO MICROWAVE OR COOKTOP like what we had reserved. We checked with the office, but no rooms with kitchens were available. We were forced to make the best of it. I don't think Cedar Lodge was to blame for any of this, but I started thinking, I had the cabin reserved about 6 weeks earlier. They KNEW what day were were arriving, and should have had it cleaned and vacated in time. There really wasn't an excuse. We will definitely not ever be staying there again, and I definitely won't be recommending it to anyone. read more

Great basecamp for a Yosemite adventure. Sure, it would be better if the wifi was free and fast, but you get a swimming pool, an ice machine, and clean showers for the same price you would pay so be suffocating in smoke without showers in Yosemite Valley. Keith and Jennifer are fully dedicated to making your stay great. They have given me a brand new tarp when my tent footprint started leaking during a long wet streak and they moved me to a different site when I was looking for more shade. After I climbed El Capitan, I must have looked pretty destroyed (I definitely felt destroyed); when Keith saw me, he immediately offered to upgrade me to a cabin free of charge so I would get a good night of sleep. Stayed for a night last week in a tent cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, well stocked with towels, soaps and a refrigerator. Beds were very comfortable, and it was very quiet at night so we slept peacefully. Even had an outdoor shower that was very clean other than some pine needles. The camp hosts were helpful and very polite! Thank you, Carrie. Shout out to the man working his tail off at the Cedar Lodge Cafe. I'm torn on how to review this place. It's a small, family-run business. You'll get a different level of customer service depending on who you talk to - from really bad to really great. The campground itself is really small, not large like a KOA. But there's something uniquely charming about the space. Maybe it's because you're in Yosemite Valley, right across from the river, surrounded by nothing but peace, so it's hard to go wrong anywhere. We stayed in the Rock Cabin - a cute, small little cabin with one room with 2 double beds, separate kitchen, and separate (and especially nice) bathroom. It's a throwback to the 70's or 80's - as I'm pretty sure that's the last time it was decorated. But it's "roughin' it" in the woods, so who really cares. The kitchen comes fully stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils. Our air conditioner was in and out of service, so some of our nights were miserable. But there's a nice little bench on the front porch that provided a nice cool down. The best things about this spot were: * It's part of a motel next door, a short walk, so you have housekeeping service. * The motel has a little grocery store and restaurant. Handy! * Outdoor shower! It's part of the campgrounds, but we used it too. The water was super cold, but there's nothing like taking a shower under the sky and trees. Also, for an outdoor shower, I must say it was pretty clean. I think all in all I'd stay here again - now that I know what to expect; and I'll check the air conditioner before it gets too hot! You can't beat the location 25 minutes from Yosemite, right across the street from the Merced River, and the price is right. Oh, and thanks Yelpers for the reviews about bed bugs. It was our worst mistake camping here over Labor day weekend. The campsites were packed together, no privacy at all between tents. Both nights there were motorcyclists with loud roaring exhaust noise early morning right next to our tent that woke us up. People didn't follow rules about quiet times. Some people stayed up past midnight talking loudly and laughing. There were a lot of tour operators with group tents. It was like a carnival. Also,someone stole our picnic table and the nextdoor neighbor's picnic table since all picnic tables were not chained down. The campground was very dusty and bare. The only star is for Keith & Jennifer, who are nice & friendly people running the place. We will never come back here unless major changes are made. read more

As I was planning my trip to the Yosemite, I was very concerned of where to stay bc of winter closures but I was so glad I tumbled upon this place on Google. Keep in mind that their website is not up to date so I was recommended by the owner to book via Expedia. Everything went smoothly! David was nice enough to give us a call to make sure we wouldn't be stuck in the snow while getting there. Through Expedia, I booked the standard room for the boyfriend and me. We have no complaints about the room. The internet (you have to pay for) was a little slow but other than that, everything worked and the room was clean. I was a little skeptical initially bc a lot of reviews say "the heaters don't work, bring extra blankets"; that wasn't the case for us at all! Spaces were small on a little hill with shade, hookups including cable (&HBO!) were good. Hot showers apparently good. Restrooms were often out of toilet paper, so BYOTP. This little full hook-ups RV Park is nestled into the mountain side right off the highway. It's about 15 minutes to the Yosemite entrance making it convenient to go in and out. This is not a resort camping area. Spots are very close together (some terraced) and most don't have a fire pit and barely space to eat at the picnic tables. I would recommend this place for RVs that require full hook-ups and only for a couple of days. I would recommend tents finding another place as there is no shade accept if you're along the fence on the road and those are on top of each other in a very narrow space. The bathrooms were maintained, but packed in the evening. I counted 4 showers for all genders and an additional one for a female and male. There are 4 non-gender specific toilet stalls and additional stalls in the female/male bathrooms. This is a very compact place to stay, but I wouldn't recommend it as a spot to hang outside for families. There's a full resort RV Park elsewhere, but further from a Yosemite entrance, but well worth it if this is your destination vacation and not a few day hop. This served our purpose for the few days and we didn't encounter any problems. There is an outdoor pool at the lodge next door and it's a quick walk up a path. It's large and the water is refreshing, not too cold. There is a "fancy" restaurant AND a casual grill at the lodge, as well as a small market with a few essentials. There is NO WiFi or cell service at the RV Park. So enjoy being off the grid but screenshot maps, restaurants, etc BEFORE you arrive because there's no service in Yosemite either. There's a gas station between the RV Park and the Yosemite entrance but be ready to pay premium prices! They have a market and deli, as well. There's a day use area for the river across the street. To the right the day use has picnic tables and to the left they have grass and picnic tables. read more

Just returned from my trip to Yosemite and wanted to give a huge shout out to this place! I had the best time and really enjoyed my stay. I stayed in one of the tent Cabins and would describe the experience as glamping at its best! Nice size cabins with a rustic feel. Great location just 10 minutes from the park. The owner was so helpful and accommodating. You can walk to their sister property for breakfast or a dip in a heated pool and jacuzzi, which was a pure bliss after long days of hiking in the wilderness. The best way to experience Yosemite even compared to more upscale options. Loved having a hot shower under the stars when the whole of Yosemite was out of power due to planned power outage on my last day. Thank you for making my stay so special! read more

Nice location. Poor management. This is the closest campground to the entrance to Yosemite. I say "campground" but it's more so a trailer park. You are parked very close to everyone. The crowded and busy environment attracts a lot of bees and other bugs. They also have street lights hanging everywhere, hard to sleep in a tent. Also, The manager there was a jerk. Complained about us playing music and being loud at 9:30. Quite hours are at 10. We turned our music down at 9:30, then off at 10 and just sat around and the campfire talking. He came back out at 10:15 and told us to go to bed. We said no. He called the police. When they came, they confirmed we weren't doing anything wrong and told us to have a good night. I'll never return here. I recommend staying at the Cedar Lodge next door. Looked like a really nice place. read more

Ok so we stayed here this past weekend on our trip to Yosemite. We did not plan far enough in advance and all the campsites in the valley were taken. For those who are campers you will find this place to be a nice change of pace. The campsite were adequate and the location is not too bad (13 min from the park entrance). If you are looking for luxury, no this is not it, but if you had planned on camping in a tent anyway, the use of a shower, actual bathrooms, and a sink for dishes is really nice. I could see if you were using an RV how you might want more, but this is not bad at all if you are camping. The ability to use the pool next door is refreshing as well. If you can't stay in the park, this is not a bad way to go! read more

Keith is a nice guy. The spot we had for our truck was flat, had electricity, and the bathrooms were close by. Where we were, it was shaded, too. It works if you're gone all day to Yosemite NP. Bathrooms were clean enough, and it seemed the women's toilets were fairly new, but the showers looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Having to lean against the wall in an outdoor shower, it was gross. Slimy, and stained. Wear flip flops. Bring your own soap. And maybe paper products. In the three days we were there, there was never any paper towels, and the toilets were often out of toilet paper. I'm sure it's hard to keep up with, but they could do a better job of cleaning. They say that there is a 10pm curfew, but they leave at 9. Our second night, a bunch of kids were whooping and hollering until after 11. But it's close to the park. And if it's quiet in the RV park, the river is loud and right across the street. Nice. read more

This one doesn't deserve one star. The OLNY plus to this one is that it's very close to the park entrance. We are glad we were able to get out of our contract. So happy I didn't have to set up camp here this past summer. I was walking through and kicking up loose dirt/dust that was 1-2 inches deep in parts. Cleaning my gear and car of dirt would have been joyous. Take the time to drive 10 more miles down the road to the KOA. read more

I felt safe here and the office attendant even provided us with firewood and some help with the RV since we are RV newbies. He wore a mask the whole time and kept his distance, which I appreciated. We tried to get a reservation the day of but failed to get anyone on the line so we showed up and crossed our fingers.
