It is the type of day that makes you want to eat comfort food. Bombay to Kathmandu was the ideal place for some lentil soup and naan. My soup was steaming hot and my naan quite tasty. Walking into Bombay to Kathmandu feels like being transported around the world. The beaded curtains, tin doors and other Indian Nepali artifacts made the place appear authentic. I placed my order with the cashier, who was warm and welcoming. The menu is remarkably diverse, offering classic Indian favorites alongside traditional Nepali dishes, which makes it stand out. The restaurant is known for its momos, curry dishes and aromatic sauces. Importantly, there are plenty of options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Their creative fusion items, including curry inspired pizzas are their specialties. My soup was quite generous and filling. Prices are reasonable, and the food consistently delivers big on taste. The staff was friendly and willing to help with spice levels and menu recommendations.

Nothing compares to the indian spices on a pizza. It wasn't anything super lifechanging but it was comforting and hit the spot which is all I need. The samosas were also great. They seasoned the outer crust which added so much flavor. Would come back again.

I ordered online (they use Beyond Menu), and picked up the order. They have a single table, shaded under a canopy. I ordered Chicken 65, Saag Paneer, and a Masala Dosa. All food is packed piping hot into plastic or styrofoam containers. The dosa arrived cut up, and smelled "burnt" (bitter) which was also confirmed via taste. It was packed in a styrofoam box. The texture was chewy, which it should definitely should not be, even if it was no longer crispy from being locked in a styrofoam box. It lacked the fermented savoriness one expects from a dosa. They seem to utilize russets based on the potato texture in their masala, which also contained green beans and peas. It seemed reasonably spiced, but dry and grainy. Overall: avoid this appalling dosa The Chicken 65 comes enshrouded in a plastic wrapped circular takeout container. Chicken breast and / or chicken tenders seem to be the protein of choice based on the taste and texture. Not sure if there is a breading or coating on the chicken (their dish is gluten-free), but it is well-slathered in a sour chili sauce. The sauce is mostly spicy and sour forward, with other aromatic elements not particularly noticeable, including the cilantro and onion. Overall: better renditions of Chicken 65 exist that are more aromatic, crispier, and yet retain moisture within. This Saag Paneer has a weird smell and taste. It's not really thick, and more soupy... and perhaps the weird flavor comes from the paneer. Kinda like how different milks have variations in flavor, including some which might have detectable, undesirable flavors. There are plenty of spices, which I view as a plus, but the spinach is lacking, and the viscosity is too low. Overall: disappointing. again, there are more satisfactory preparations of this dish that can be found elsewhere. After tasting the mains, I didn't bother trying the sambar, two chutneys, and rice that came with. Nor did I bother finishing the food that was ordered. Instead, I focused on writing this review and ordered an alternative meal from a more reputable Indian restaurant. Recommendation: go elsewhere for Indian food. Or stop by to make your own assessment, and then order from somewhere else.

Masala Dosa -- Appalling. Lack of savoriness; dosa is bitter and chewy. Russets used for potato masala; Spiced reasonably well.
