One of the few remaining Indian buffets around, so I was pretty excited - $15 is also a fair price these days. Some of the buffet food was above average, but most was average. The chicken tikka masala, for instance, is enjoyable but could have used a little more flavor. The mushroom curry was really great - intense mushroom flavors in there. Wasn't a big fan of the way they spiced the spinach curry (usually one of my favs at other places) - it tasted like the smell of BO. Tandoori chicken was seasoned well and was juicy. Garlic naan instead of regular naan is a plus. The rice dessert was phenomenal. They make it with saffron, which is a first for me. Not overly sweet, really nice saffron flavors. read more

Wow this was a very disappointing meal. We opted for the delivery service which was ok, only one item was forgotten but they did call me and personally delivered the missing item fast. So here is where it went bad, the chicken tikka Masala was just bad. The chicken was hard/tough to chew and very dry. So when I saw this place to try I was literally only looking at the pictures and the menu. Little did I know it was also ayce for lunch. I thought it was $10 ayce price from what my coworker told me but later he told me it was actually $8, it blew my mind. We had a lil of everything they had, which I would say it's a lot. (you have a choice between plain naan and garlic naan) At the side/dessert bar: We first tried the salad, fruit salad (peach and watermelon), Raita On the other side for the entrees we tried: Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi (Califlower & Potato) [omg this one has a kick if you have super low spice tolerance], chicken pakora, veg. samosa, chili chicken, Saag, Muschroom and peas, Aloo Matar, Daal Makhni For dessert we had Gulab Jamun (milk and flour ball dipped in syrup) and kheer (rice pudding) We also ordered mango lassi ($2/drink) to drink. This was the first time my coworker ever tried this and he super like it. Helps he loves mango everything already :p Our total bill came out to be about $21 something. BTW our waitress was like super woman or something cause she literally served all 9 booths that had people herself. We've ordered from doordash a couple times now and gosh it's just delicious. We make rice at home and order the masala and some sides like naan and samosas. Everything is flavorful and filling. I have frequented this Indian food joint for a few years now, it is a true prize for Simi. I have visited many other Indian food establishments in Simi and nearby cities that appear more modern or upper scale, for my taste buds this joint has the best flavor. If you go for the lunch deal/buffet, it does has a smaller selection than other restaurants too but the food is tastier and that is what is most important in my book. The staff is always attentive and responsive even if you opt to serve yourself at the buffet. You should try it and give your pallet a treat. read more

Immediately I am having Padma Lakshmi fantasies again wherein we get busy with curry and do unspeakable's with the Tikka Masala... Yeah baby, Indian Haweli it's clearly go time for some serious Padma debauchery in Simi Valley. Indian Haweli is not exactly the romantic stage I had in mind for my Padma fantasy to play out but hey when the mood strikes and we are talking Padma here. I'm all in ready to rock little miss Mumbai's world like it's the most delectable, alluring, sensual, erotic, insatiable series of meals on Top Chef. That's what I'm talking about Indian Haweli, Los Angeles Ave in Simi will never be the same... As I pull into the run down strip mall I see my little Indian fantasy love den that is beckoning me to come hither big boy and have your way with me. I park and see a Toyota Celica with Indian Haweli advertising on the doors and a globe of India hanging from the rear view mirror like dice back in the day... I'm home and ready to get my Tandoori on! Let the games begin... Upon entering I'm greeted by old Las Vegas casino carpet from the rat pack era and an angelic looking young lady who says in an authentic New Delhi accent hi how are you please sit anywhere! Being that the place has only (4) seated that shouldn't be a problem. She asks what I'm drinking and if I need a menu or if I'm doing the lunch buffet for $8.99. I tell her that I'm there for the Padma special and we are going to need ample supplies of Curry, Tikka Masala, and Raita Indian yogurt along with a curtain for some privacy and plenty of water to stay hydrated. She looked a little puzzled but smiled and said buffet lunch it is. I figured that while I waited on Padma I might as well have a bite so the lunch buffet is the star here. People this isn't the buffet at Bellagio in LV or The Bel Air Hotel but for $8.99 it's an Indian food rockstar in Simi Valley. Serving up a collection of salads, appetizers, and the main course's along with dessert and piping hot Naan either plain or savory garlic. All the trays were freshly stocked and looking good with a wealth of options to choose from. Seating is plentiful, along with an adjacent banquet room and ample parking out front. The vibe is mostly non-existent unless of course, your into the famous singers of Calcutta playing on cassette tape in the background and the furnishings are circa India 1975. The staff is all family, they are genuine and really nice along with being accommodating. Obviously, my Padma fantasy and love fest will play out another day... But in the interim Indian Haweli in Simi Valley is a really good and affordable option to enjoy and savor even without Padma lol The food is fresh, flavorful and they will also modify the spice levels upon request which is great because Padma and I want it smokin hot well in my fantasy anyway... read more

Five stars! My husband is from northern India and we've been coming here for years. Their food has become better and better. It seems like they are making an effort to improve the quality of the food, including fresh chutneys and piping hot fresh naan. It's not fancy, but the food is delicious and the dine in experience very quiet and enjoyable. We'll be coming here more often. read more

I just went there for the first time this evening because I was searching for an authentic Indian food restaurant nearby. They were very sweet and I loved the atmosphere! I ordered chicken tikka masala, basmati rice, plain naan, and samosas. I loved everything! I actually ordered it spicy but it didn't seem that spicy to me. Maybe the rice helped a lot, but I've definitely made spicier tikka masala at home. The spice combinations they use are just wonderful! And the food I got was plenty for two people. It was a perfect amount. Their naan is delicious and doesn't need anything on it, in my opinion. I am definitely adding this place to my list of favorites. I plan to eat in the restaurant next time, since I got it to go this time. read more

My personal favorite Indian food place in the area. I've went to places in The Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo etc and I still love this place the best. Specifically the lunch buffet which always has the signature tikka masala. Being that it is a Buffett it is very reasonably priced and he staff is always prompt and efficient. The one thing they make fresh is the Naan bread that is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the garlic naan. read more

I've tried a couple Indian places in Simi and this is definitely my favorite! The flavors are spot-on. I'm generally vegetarian and also gluten free and there are plenty of options. I had aloo gobi, pilau rice, and shabi paneer, all very good! They included good tamarind sauce with the papadums. The sweet lassi was the best. The price and amount of food is good. They always have salads, chicken, lamb, beef and vegetarian dishes smartly spiced medium with good sides and fresh rice. The grocery store has an enormous selection at very reasonable prices. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely helpful in aiding me, a novice at cooking Indian cuisine, choose the spices I needed for the meal I was endeavoring to cook. He explained the spices and what each was used for and in certain combinations. I will certainly visit this store in future and am very interested in trying the conjoining restaurant. read more

If you are looking for Indian food in Simi, look no more! The restaurant and to-go/ pick-up no longer sits in the skirts of the Indian grocery store but in its own new fresh spot, one door down. Walk past the fishing and tackle store and you'll find Indian Haweli Restaurant. The expansion allowed for more booths and a long table for a large party. The menu is still the tasty same with nice portions for great prices. With the drinks came a small plate of complimentary papadum- lentil (salty!) wafers. Whether for lunch or dinner you have to mix it up! I always go for a vegetarian item, usually, Aloo Matar- a curry, served with potatoes, peas, onions, spices & herbs, Chicken Tikka Masala is yummy, chicken is roasted in tandoor and Riata- a yogurt, tomato, cucumber aside when I need to cool down the palate in inferno. Garlic naan is delicious, tastes even better dipped in curry sauce or the mint-herb spread! The bathroom seems to be under construction (Jan 2012), unkept, no toilet paper, or paper towels, just soap. I wouldn't call the graffiti on the walls art, a quick roll of fresh paint would do. :x read more

My GF is Indian and professes this place is better than any other we've had in LA. The Matar Paneer is quite possibly the best thing in the world. Their garlic naan also top notch. The Choli was a little bland bc we asked for mild -- much better spicy which they gladly did with a smile. --The Raita was good but make sure to ask for the tomato one. --for APPS--The Aloo Tikki is a must-- way better than the samosas. It's kind of like an Indian hash brown cake they serve at McD's! But way healthier and tastier. If your from Simi or just in town visiting the Reagan museum. AND if you're looking to make some homemade Indy, they have an authentic restaurant with good from Bombay! A must! read more

This place just honestly rocks. So cheap for an all you can eat lunch place, and the quality is not sacrificed. The service is quick and straight-forward. The buffet is self-serve and has a decent variety. Tip: come here hungry for lunch. You will leave happy, full, and satisfied. This place is worth every penny. The food is delicious.
