This place is tucked deep into the Simi mall and was kind of hard to find. Walked in and it seemed like the place wasn't open, as there wasn't a cashier or anyone in the store. Once we rang the bell, the lady was very nice. There are no fountain drinks, only cans of soda and bottles of water/gatorade. The food was good, not as spicy as advertised (I got the medium and felt as if it was mild). The chicken and fries were made fresh and were steaming hot. The sauce was very similar to Cane's sauce but with a little more spice. Overall, a solid option for a hot chicken sandwich place but not the most accessible location read more

The service and atmosphere were very pleasant. The fries and toast were probably the best thing on the menu, not because the chicken or flavor was bad but because it was not as I anticipated it to be. I chose level Hot just because I sadly was intimidated by level Killer Flare. You had to sign a waiver and they ID you as well. I ended up ordering one on the side just because curiosity got the best of me, I am a lover of spicy food and wanted to see what the hype was about. Level Hot was not hot at all which was disappointing so obviously with level Killer Flare I am expecting something drastic. It was not spicy at all, nothing was spicy at all. Love it here! I use to not like it because I tried it when it was touching the pickles and I don't like pickles, but my husband and whole family have always loved this chicken, I recently ordered again and had the choice to add no pickles and it was soo good without the pickle touch! I really recommend this hot chicken! If you don't like too much spice but a little touch I recommend the mild. Medium is pretty spicy. Should have known something was up when the place was completely empty. Nevertheless I wanted to give it a chance. When you bite into the chicken you feel like it's about to be something special because it's nice and crispy...until it's not. Doesn't have much flavor and the fries are just regular fries. The food here is delicious. The chicken has good flavor, and so do the fries. I stuck to mild; I can't do too spicy. If you don't do any spice, it feels like it doesn't have flavor. Decided to try this place after seeing the banners they put up around the town center. The food was good, the mild was super spicy (I have zero tolerance for spice so take that as you will) The best part were their fries, I really liked the seasoning on them. This place is way too expensive though. A combo meal doesn't come with a drink making you buy it separately. Even then they give you a canned soda so you can't even get refills. It's a shame since it's so nicely decorated inside, if had such a fun feel to it. Not sure if I would come back since it's so pricey. read more

Completely empty, worker was sitting down on her phone when I walked in (understandable, it's slow!) but than seemed bothered that I came. Was like a robot, not even responding , after being cordial simply asking how her day has been. Over charged me according to prices listed on physical menu at restaurant, i.e adding cheese 99 cents per they charged me 3 dollars for two. Food seemed to just be sitting under a heat lamp or old and just got reheated? I could be completely wrong but it was very Dry lacked flavor, and the fries tasted like old oil. I've frequented MANY different hot chicken places, and see the similarities and how some places thrive more than others. Overall this place was TRASH. Service, GARBAGE. I came here during my lunch break and ordered the chicken slider and tender combo with fries, everything was hot, juicy, and super delicious. Love to have a hot chicken place in Simi, but so far I have been a hair disappointed with Rambo's. I came their first week and the store itself had some long delays, confusion with the man at the register ordering, and just... really loud music! Once I got the chicken, the pieces were quite big, fresh, and tasty. I got the Rambos style which was a bit sweater breading that I would have liked. The space felt more like a dry rub applied after the chicken was cooked - hard to compare it to Daves or Main. read more

Friendly staff. Very slow service. Ordered two different heat levels and our food came out unmarked, trying it did not solve which combo had more heat. It would have been nice if the taste of the chicken was something other than hot. No flavor really, just heat and mine was mild. I ordered the #3 combo. The two sandwiches were great. The chicken was crispy yet moist and the fries were seasoned with a very tasty combination of spices. I chose the medium spice level which was a good starter level. Next time I will choose the next level up. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone who likes spicy chicken. I was craving some chicken before I went to see the Thunderbolts* movie, and Rambos was right next to the theater. I can confidently say that this was a great place to eat a chicken sandwich and tenders. There was a great variety of drinks and the atmosphere and the music was great to listen to. It's fire - literally! Went there Saturday to try the hot. Good flavor/decent heat. Mac and Cheese was great too. Came back Sunday to try Rambo's Killer Flare. Definitely a level up! Got it to-go and had it with milk, so don't deserve a place on the wall, but happy there's a quality hot chicken place in Simi finally. Went here for the first time tonight. We ordered 2 chicken sandwiches with medium heat and an extra side of fries and sauce to go. It took 25 minutes but we didn't care because we weren't in a hurry. I couldn't eat the chicken tender, it was extremely over seasoned. I'll try it again and just ask for light seasoning next time. Really good price for the amount of food. It is wild that the price would not be the same across the board for a pickup or walk-in, especially since the Slice app is passing the fee to the customer, there should be no reason to increase the cost in the app when the business isn't eating the fee. Also they push you to use the Slice app on their website where it states "no crazy fees for you or for us". They also don't participate in the Slice rewards! Why bother using Slice at all?

Spice lovers might enjoy it, but it was a bit much for my personal taste. My husband ordered the meat lover pizza and gave it a very "meh" review. He said it was just okay, but mentioned the meats tasted different from what you'd get at a typical pizza place, not necessarily bad, just a little unusual and not really what he was craving. Overall, the food was decent, but between the run-down atmosphere, the missing menu item, and the just-okay pizza, it felt like a miss. Might give it another shot for that chapli kebab if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I would return to the restaurant, however I hope next time the eggplant dip would be better

the food is delicious much better than any other chicken restaurant I've ever had. The staff, owners and service are all wonderful everyone is so polite there. The actual inside is very nice with music playing but it's not loud or obnoxious. I will most definitely be coming back and I recommend anyone wanting to eat chicken to try it. Used to love this place but is surely has gone down hill. After going to Nashville I was so excited to have a hot chicken place here in Simi and it started great now it's truly gross and is not at all what it was when it first opened! Not sure if it is the mall failing that's affecting profits to maintain quality or just plain neglect. read more

Cut from the same cloth as Dave's Hot Chicken, right down to the presentation, but let's be honest, the food is great, and it's nice to support a small business instead of a chain. The mall is still terrible but this gives a reason to go there. read more
