Got a group on for this location and decided to try it out. I came for their lunch buffet one time and came again for their dinner. Lunch Buffet: I was really impressed by their selection. There's a lot of different options plus the desserts are more abundant than at other Indian lunch buffet locations I have been at. The display for the food itself was good but personally I would recommend finding another way than hand writing what each item is on notebook paper. It helps with the presentation but other than that things tasted really good and the variety was awesome. When we first arrived for the Lunch Buffet I wasn't too impressed. I believe the front door said 10 AM they opened and when we came in they said they weren't open yet but we could find somewhere to sit down. It didn't leave a good first impression but other than that I was impressed. Dinner: Food wise, this place has very delicious food. I do like eating curry and like Indian food but I am definitely not familiar with the food. I would like to have a better description or maybe even pictures of food in the menus to help describe what certain items are. Our actual food we got was amazing. I really enjoyed our meals and the fresh bread was incredible. The service was really good too. Decor wise, the place is very dark feeling which is workable. Child deathly allergic to nuts wasn't listed on the menu so chose to order the samosa she took one bite and had extreme reaction please be careful when ordering from here Response to Pradeep (since it won't let me write a public response): I attached my receipt to prove I ordered samosas, chicken tandoori, garlic naan and white rice. After my sis-in-law's child took the first bite and was complaining of reactions, I saw the cashew in the samosas (they weren't even chopped up). I even called the restuarant to ask if there was nuts or cashews so I'd know to rush her to the hospital. The person on the phone confirmed there were cashews in the samosas. Our child was lucky this time because we responded quickly. However, I would like the restuarant to update their menus to include cashews nuts for others, so they are aware. read more

Family time! I love Indian food, and was really looking to eat here tonight. I've eaten here before once under different management. The service tonight was great and the food was timely. The server was attentive and polite and it was a good time.! We ordered the the Chicken 555 and Vegetable Samosas. The chicken 555 was good! Flavorful with a nuance of spiciness and curry-ness. And the vegetable samosas were decently good. Good filling and crispy breading. Not out of this world flavor, but decent. For main dishes we got a pretty good variety. The Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Naan, Garlic Naan, Vegetable Chettinadu and the Goat Chettinadu. Overall I was a little dissapointed because the taste of each of the main dishes just did not have distinctive tastes. They were all creamy, maybe too creamy (is there such a thing!? lol) and not flavorful enough. The Naan dishes were okay. I had a work meeting here for lunch and we enjoyed the buffet. Interior and exterior is shabby so I was very nervous as I chose the place! But, the food was excellent and well labeled. These guys have been great. Indian Masala has become our "go-to" for take out Indian dinners at home, including major family parties. My south Indian kid also loves the fact that you have goat on the menu. And, Indian Masala recently donated a large tray of chicken biryani to our local community service event that helped to feed our "campers". Came here with family for the lunch buffet and the location and decor both outside and inside of the restaurant leave a lot to be desired. We got in at 11am which was the start of the buffet but they had not yet labeled any of the items in the buffet so we had to keep asking which items were which. They do have South Indian staples like rasam and sambar which were good but everything else I had from the eggplant curry to the channa masala was over salted. The naan was average. The coconut chutney was horrible. It was nice you could get a mango lassi with your lunch with the buffet-or so I thought! They did not tell us the mango lassi was extra and it was sitting near the buffet fare and they tacked it on as an extra charge. Just a few bucks but the principle of it was annoying. I'd skip this place and not advise driving out here. They have some work to do. read more

We've been wanting to try Indian Masala as we often drive past there. Decided to order takeout and we weren't disappointed. Everything was great (ordered tikka masala, biryani, and korma). We've tried a couple of other Indian restaurants in the Twin Cities, but this is our favorite so far. They have a really nice setup to avoid contact when ordering takeout, which my husband was really impressed with. I love this place! I was introduced to this place a couple of years ago for the lunch buffet and fell in love with the food. I may not know what I am eating but love the fact that I can taste many different things as they have a lot to offer on the buffet unlike another local place. Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan is my favorite. I did do take out for a couple of us that worked on site during the pandemic. So happy they are open for the buffet again! read more

We have been driving past this place for a few years. If you have been doing the same, do yourself a favor and stop. This place has great customer service and the food was incredible. I had a mango lassi to drink. It was sweet and creamy and flavorful. For dinner my SO had the chicken curry - mild spice, it was creamy and delicious with well cooked chicken and Bismati rice. I had the chicken biriyani - medium spice, it was a bit spicer than I was expecting but it was still incredible. The chicken was delicious and the rice was perfectly seasoned. This place has changed management a few times and every time the food was bad . We decided to give it a try again. This time we tried Pepper chicken which was a bit spicy but actually palatable. We also tried chicken 65 appetizer which was spicy and not so greasy. Chicken curry had good flavor but was spicy again. The chef is from south India which shows in the food and flavors . After a long time this place has redeemed itself with decent food. The ambience and service still need a lot of work ! The location is shady and makes you want to reconsider going in. I went back to Indian Masala for a second time. I cannot figure out why this restaurant is empty every time we go, other than it's not much to look at from the outside. This time, we got the buffet, which was a fantastic deal! In all seriousness, I have never spent so little on a buffet. I stacked my plate high with as much variety as I could. After I inhaled a mountain of Indian food, I tried to determine which dish I would not eat again during my second go round. Nope, there wasn't one. I pretty much made an exact replica of my first plate and just about exploded during my last two or three bites. Everything I ate was delicious. The restaurant was much cleaner than the first time I went, although it wasn't bad the first time. The only knock on the place this time is that some of the dishes in the buffet line were not as warm as they should have been. I'm a certified professional food manager and I like me food as hot as molten lava, so I notice things like that. In summary, I will return! read more

This is my favorite restaurant to go to. The food is very flavorful, filling, and a big variety to choose from with meat and vegetarian options. Anybody that says they have bad service must not have worked in a restaurant before there is one guy bussing tables and doing cashier and he is doing a fantastic job. So far my fav for Indian food around here. Want on a Monday expecting to order my fav chicken tikka Masala. Found out they don't serve menu during lunch because it's slow and instead have buffet. I ended up trying everything on the buffet. I liked all but two items (personal taste of course). But all the food was so amazing. Went back up 3.5 times. They also had delicious fruit dessert. I was craving some dosa, so I came here to try some. I did takeout. It met my expectations and satisfied the craving, but I would say that the flavor is about average. I also ordered the chana saag but ended up getting chicken saag, so I would encourage checking your order. The dish felt a little on the heavier side. One thing I appreciated from the menu is that there are many vegan options of their dishes, though I did not personally order those dishes. I had the Kadai Paneer and the sauce was the best sauce I have ever tasted. It isnt tomato based so it is amazing. I dont review too many places, but I had to for this place!!! Down side is there is one waiter for the restaurant but he was running around like he was doing a marathon. Please go so this place remains open!!! Even though the place is dark it's hard to miss all the cobwebs in the light fixtures, vents, branches and recessed lights. Service is slow, even though there was hardly any one there. We ordered 2 appetizers one came quickly the other right before the main course. The meat was so fatty that my husband's dish was was basiclly rice with lamb fat and connective tissue. My chicken Kormah was made with chicken thighs that hadn't been trimmed either. The flavors were nice but not appetizing. Oh and there are cameras installed in The corners... creepy! read more

Well, the food was great. Unfortunately may want to do take out . The walls were dirty and in need of a coat of paint. We were seated, or actually told to seat ourselves into Pizza Hut style booths. Despite only about 5 people here on a Saturday evening, service was slow and not overly friendly. Had the butter chicken and shrimp tiki. Shrimp was over cooked and tough. The sauce was great. The pesto naan barely had a scrimp of pesto. Had to go ask for more rice. May get take out, but not worth dining in unfortunately. Hope they can make some upgrades read more

This place is a bit out of the way for me but I would make the journey there again, what with my current scope of the Twin Cities' Indian restaurant scene. Indian Masala has the best food of any curryhouse I have tried here. I have zero complaints about any of the dishes I ordered (the chicken 555 biryani, paneer tikka masala, daal tadka, tandoori roti and peshawari naan all hit the spot - and I bet if they had dhansak on the menu it would too!) The dining room is not the coziest, with its blaring yellow walls and clinical lighting, but they did have a fish tank! The quality of service was at an equal level of abrasion to the restaurant's decor, but I frankly don't care - the product is there, and at a very fair pricepoint as well. I would give it 5 stars for a takeaway experience, but it's not quite suitable for a date night. The search for the all around best contender thus continues..!! read more

Got take out from here and I have to say it was some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The Chicken Tikka Masala was tangy and the mild level had just enough spice to compliment the creamy sauce. The Saag Paneer was incredible. It had an after taste of marshmallows? I have no idea why, but I was into it. The Paneer was the perfect consistency. I had ordered the Tofu Masala, it wasn't what I was expecting but it was AWESOME. Would definitely order it again. My only complaint was that my order was given to me in a large paper bag, and one of my Chicken Masala containers stared to leak, causing the bag to break and it got my car a little messy on the way home, but honestly the food was so good (and lasted a few days of meals for my family) that I just don't care. This spot is amazing. That sentence should not be skimmed by, this place's food is seriously delicious, every time! It is my family's favorite and we almost always order something new each time. Everything we've tried is flavorful, well prepared and delectable.
