Food and service were top notch! The chicken korma was delicious and probably enough for two people. Highly recommended!

Chill breakfast vibes & a dog friendly patio!…read more OCEAN CITY, MD: Malia's Cafe was the perfect final stop on our OCMD trip, a cozy breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot with dog friendly outdoor seating and all the classic comfort‑food vibes. Fresh dishes, breezy air drifting up from the beach, and a comfy awning that keeps you shaded make it such an easy, relaxing place to start your day. Simple, delicious, and super welcoming, exactly what you want before heading home.

We saw some good ratings and gave this place a shot and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff who helped us make the right selection. As my wife was fasting, she went with a small fruit bowl, my son chose shortstack pancakes, and I tried the veggie hash. The fruit bowl was decorated well and had plenty of variety. From blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, watermelons, apples, bananas, and others, all the fruits were fresh and perfectly ripe. The pancakes were very large and just one would have been more than enough for two people it seems but they even added berries for my son on them. The veggie hash had lots of potential. It was cooked well, however, lacked seasoning. It seemed slightly bland and I had to utilize ketchup to give it some identity. However, the quality and variety of veggies inside was great. Overall, I am giving four stars due to the fact that the prices are high, but the service and quality are worth it; especially for such a close location to the boardwalk.

There's a good variety in the cocktail/beer/wine menu too. My husband and I got the salt pepper shrimp, which came with peppers and onions. It was butterflied and breaded super well, and was fresh and crispy! It also had a good balance of spice and salt. The beef in the lo mein was so tender and juicy. I feel like sometimes other places give the tiniest thin slices, but this is almost like small pieces of steak. It's a great portion for 2-4 people depending on how many items you order. The pork belly bowl was also outstanding. It was on a bed a rice that soaked a ton of the flavor. It came with zucchini and bok choy, which was a great fresh flavor to balance the belly. We made a last minute reservation and were seated super quickly. The service was so friendly from our server who was an owner and the bartender too. The food came out quick and hot, we were always checked on (but not hovered over). It was amazing to see how many regulars seemed to be there and familiar with the owners and workers too! Highly recommend! So good!!!

Aug. 2026 This is…read morethe first time in six years that Brass Balls is not getting a perfect score. The nachos are usually the highlight of our visit. We always order two for the table, but this year they were burnt and had very few toppings with almost no cilantro crema. Please see the photo for the side‑by‑side comparison. My son also looks forward to the chocolate milkshake every summer, but the machine was reportedly down for the next hour. I understand that things happen, but it added to an already disappointing food experience. Several people in our group ordered chicken sandwiches and said the chicken was extremely chewy. None of them finished their meal. Brass Balls, I truly hope this is not the new norm. With so many dining options, this is the quickest way to lose loyal customers. Customer service - 5 out of 5 Wait time - 5 out of 5 Cleanliness - 5 out of 5 Atmosphere - 5 out of 5 Food quality - 2 out of 5 With a total score of 22 out of 25, I am giving this place a B+. We will return in the summer of 2027, but with the hope that the food quality returns to its usual standard.

Bartender Jeff Mick pulled up and took care of us. We had a couple shots (which we totally needed at that point) and I ordered two soups to try and push towards my week quota of 10 soups. The French onion was very good - good temp and the flavor was on-point. The MD crab soup was also good with the flavor and temp. Overall - was surprised by the place upstairs and how cool it was.
