This is one of the better restaurants in the Ocean City area but since it's not one of the more common local cuisines (crabs, Italian, pizza) it's generally easy to get seating on the weekend. The atmosphere is cool and inviting, and the staff were really great. We had our 16 month old daughter with us, and she kept waving to everyone, and they were so nice. We enjoyed the appetizers more than we enjoyed our entrees. The doner kebap and lamb chops were pretty good, but we've had better elsewhere. The pita stole the show. It was hot, fresh, and perfectly fluffy. The olives in olive oil that came with it were delicious as well. I loved the falafel & hummus. Our cocktails were also so good. Great newer restaurant with a nice menu for all to enjoy. What first struck us was the beautiful interior. Relaxing with ethnic music at a chill volume. Only ask: Turn the volume down on the Doo$ Das$ or don't have a table right over the wall from it. It ruins the vibe. The menu is large and items are authentically prepared. Well we really liked a few items on the menu, shrimp kebabs, filet kebabs, the wonderful hummus and pita bread too! We didn't like the gyro it wasn't traditional. It was meat on a plate. If you're looking for a nice restaurant, this is the one! We took my mother here for Mother's Day. Quickly, we got a seat without needing a reservation. Our waiter's name was Omar and he was so polite and informative. I felt special when he came around to ask us if we wanted bubbly or tap water. Then he came around with a plate of sliced lime, lemons, and oranges. If you're hungry for a buffet, this place isn't for you. This is the type of place if you want to taste the best food ever without overstuffing yourself. Portions are small, I'll admit that. But the seasoning and presentation are so good, I am still giving this place 5 stars. It is expensive. But I truly think it's worth it if you want to try delicious Turkish food. read more

Called ahead and found there was no wait after hearing back from another spot so we had an impromptu change of plans! They were able to accommodate a large group of us and even move us around when we sat under a chilly vent without any fuss. Service was really excellent, straightforward, and prompt. The setting has a very intimate, trendy vibe while the menu items remain affordable, accommodating, and exciting! We had a variety of different dishes including hummus, cheese pide, lamb chops, and lahmacun. The pide and lahmachn are a bit like pizzas, making them very easily shareable, though the bread crust was a little flatter and the rice a little less flavorful than we'd prefer from other Mediterranean spots we love. Even so, the Turkish tea, hummus, and bread for the table was delicious. Everyone enjoyed the lamb chops and the free turkish delights that arrived with the bill! A photographer greeted us and offered to take our photo for a free postcard (and paid photo package you can opt into) so now we have a picture of the memory. Great spot! read more

Service was good and attentive, but with only four or five tables filled when the town is jammed full it made us wonder why, until we saw the prices. They could fill the place with more reasonable prices. 3.5% "hospitality fee" 3.5% surcharge for credit cards on top of the 20% tip we usually give add up to even more sticker shock. This was a tasty meal but probably a one time try for us. Watch out for the table blowing chilly air directly down, they did let us move though. read more

Saw this brand new restaurant as we were passing by the other night and had to make a plan to check them out since anything Mediterranean and Meze is priority. The experience tonight did not disappoint. Service by our waitress, Tugba Y was excellent. She explained anything we had questions about on the menu and was so pleasant. The interior is beautiful with a nice bar area, tables all around and pleasant authentic music playing. The menu has something for everyone and is well suited for groups to share dishes as the purpose of Meze. Little expensive but well worth it for quality and authentic cuisine. We ordered a couple smaller dishes as we weren't terribly hungry but left stuffed. We ordered Dolmades, Sitara Boregi, Baby wing Kebap and Manti, the latter 2 being the largest & most filling plates. The food was fresh, but nothing really stood out flavor-wise -- it felt like it was missing that bold, vibrant taste I usually expect from Mediterranean cuisine. Terrible food and service. High price for substandard and poor quality of dishes as recommended by the server. Only good thing they had was hummus and pita bread. Lentil soup had no taste; it seemed like someone was adding water and microwaving it. Octopus was okay; nothing exciting. Lamb shank had a horrible taste and was cold from the inside. It was not cooked well. Iskander Kabab had sour cream everywhere with a few slices of beef and was cold. The server has signed off on us. I'm not sure if it was a racial thing. I asked about the lamb shank being cold from the inside. He told us that they could make it hot. At that time, we were done. He was just shrugging us off instead of acknowledging our concerns. He was carrying a portable POS around. When I asked him to use Apple Pay, he said it was not working. Totally unacceptable service. The manager should inquire about this instance, or they don't care. Super yummy spot! We stumbled upon this gem on our way out of Ocean City - it's a Mediterranean restaurant with a beautiful vibe indoors and a stunning patio area as well. The inside is quite spacious so definitely good for big groups! Surprisingly it was super empty during lunch on a Sunday. We shared the pita with labneh, the carrot small plate, the falafel platter, and roasted cauliflower. Food was really fresh - you could taste it in the flavor - and very tasty. Wife and I ate here on a Monday night. Our waiter, Zach, offered great suggestions and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We had: Hummus wife loved the flavor of the olive oil. Finally was able to check out Kalamata Meze Bar and WOW people kept telling me how good it was and it did not dissapoint. Everything was delicious, from the free bread they give you with the kalamata olives and various dips (i loved the salsa and hot oil) to the chicken shish kebab board and the lamb one i got. The feta cheese dip was very smooth and rich, and finally the mati dumplings were very flavorful and petit little bites of beef dumplings. This ambience of the place alone sells its self. Blown away by the food quality, taste, atmosphere, and service. There is nothing left to say other than this is THE best restaurant in all of OC. Nothing missed. MAINS. Hummus was as delish as you'd expect. Warm and fresh pita continuously refilled with olive dressing. Grilled halloumi made me salivate as I was eating it. The table's favorite were the red lentil bulgar bites, refreshing and fresh I would have given 5 stars for this plate alone. The menti dumplings were beautifully prepared in a yogurt sauce you'll want to drink through a straw. And the roasted eggplant was perfectly cooked with just the right punch of flavor. THAT'S NOT ALL. The drinks were delicious and complimented the food. Our favorite was the sparrow, basically a pineapple dreamsicle with rum. The Turkish coffee was a perfect pairing with the dessert. Kunefe - imagine a gourmet mozzarella stick as a dessert - a must try. SERVICE AND AMBIANCE. Our waitress was great. She was just being herself, vibing with us and the restaurant. A team was constantly clearing plates, refilling drinks, and bringing out other food. The interior itself is open and gorgeous. Halfway through our meal there was also a belly dancer performing around the room?! I'm staying in OC two more weeks and am planning at least three other trips here. We've dined here twice, and while the first experience was fantastic, the second visit left us a bit disappointed. Our first meal was in March, and we arrived about 30 minutes before the kitchen closed. Despite the late hour, we were greeted like family. And when I say we were treated like family, I really mean it. Now, I don't know how your family treats you--but in many cultures, like in Turkey, family is treated with deep hospitality, and it's taken seriously to make sure guests are well cared for and served. The owner is from Turkey, so that level of warmth and attentiveness clearly came through. The waiter was incredibly welcoming, reassuring us multiple times not to rush and to take our time. The atmosphere was quiet--just us and a few people at the bar enjoying each other's company and the chill atmosphere. We ordered several cold mezze dishes including the baba ghanoush, hummus, and Greek salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and far superior to what you'd find at a grocery store or a typical Mediterranean takeout spot. The ambiance was elevated and unique, with faux olive trees to make it feel like the mediterranean adding a nice touch. For entrées, we chose the filet mignon kebabs and the lamb chops--both were cooked perfectly. We were given generous baskets of soft pita bread and received attentive service throughout the meal. It was such a wonderful experience that I immediately recommended the place to family and friends. Unfortunately, our second visit didn't quite live up to the first. We had a reservation, but when we arrived, no one was at the hostess stand. The cook had to leave the grill and go to the back to find the server, who was also acting as the hostess. While she was friendly, she didn't match the attentiveness or polish of our previous waiter. Expecting the same quality and hospitality, we ordered even more food this time, including our usual mezze plus the calamari, grilled branzino, and baklava ice cream sandwich. The food was, once again, delicious--no complaints there. If food quality is your only priority, this place consistently delivers. However, we were surprised to be charged $6 for extra pita bread--something that wasn't mentioned beforehand. When I brought it up, the server said she thought she had clarified when she asked how many we wanted. Since we weren't charged for extra bread during our first visit, we hadn't thought to ask. It's not about the $6--it's about the principle. Clear communication about charges is important. To her credit, she did end up removing the charge after we brought it up--but we were given a firm warning that next time, extra pita will be charged. To add to that, the second batch of bread was cold and tough--not the warm, fluffy pita we had enjoyed before. The server explained that the owner had changed the bread policy about a year ago, but that didn't align with our experience just two months earlier. If you're serving dips like Baba ghanoush, there should be enough bread to match. No one wants to eat dip with a spoon like baby food. Lastly, it was clear the restaurant was running on a skeleton crew. Our server was also the hostess and running drinks and food to multiple tables. Sadly, this seems to be a growing trend in the Ocean City service industry. Despite the hiccups, I still really like this restaurant and have no problem spending on a quality meal. But I do hope the owners reconsider the bread policy--perhaps offering a reasonable amount of pita with each dip a customer orders--and bring back the warm hospitality that first made us fall in love with this place and dream about going back. The food here was incredible! By far the best dining experience I had in the Ocean City area. Every dish tasted delicious. My only complaint was that I wish the roasted cauliflower had a little more flavor or marinade like a lemony acid flavor to go against the tahini for a fuller flavor profile. My steak was delicious and well cooked, even had the lentil soup and it was the best I've had in a long while. The pita breads were also very warm and had an almost sweet taste to them. Another plus was that the menu was labeled with the items that were Gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan. That by itself was the reason why I chose to eat here on my last night in Ocean City, it was the perfect dining experience to end my family vacation! MEDITERRANEAN EXCELENCE My buddy and I found an EXCELLENT Mediterranean restaurant called Kalamata Meze Friday night on the 50 there in Ocean City, MD I assumed it would be Greek but it turned out to be Turkish, a subtle difference, and it was OUTSTANDING. We both had a delicious lamb entree called "Adama Kebap." Wow! It came with rice, roasted vegetables and spices Aegean hot sauce. Free warm homemade bread, olives and spiced olive oil were delivered with courtesy and professionalism by some outstanding young male servers. Fantastic atmosphere, lighting, music and service. My only regret is that I didn't get some baklava to bring home. I suggest everyone try it whenever they go to Ocean City. I don't remember when I had a better meal. NOTE: Kalamata seemed even better because we'd just gotten up without ordering from one of those brightly-lit, loud, teppanyaki type of Japanese places where they'd sat us down with a family that did not welcome our presence at all. That place cost more and would not have been even close to half as good as Kalamata. So glad we got up! What a nice surprise and what a FIND! might drive back out to Ocean City, from near DC, just to try something else on their menu. I wish I knew how to say "Bravo! Service was fine. Food was mediocre at best. If you've never had Turkish or med cuisine you may find it suitable. I have had much better and it wasn't that it didn't match up to previous meals elsewhere. I got lamb chops. Unfortunately they give you 6 chops but buy into 2 bone each so 3 on plate but double bones. They can't cook them properly like that. I would have preferred they split them. Rice was flavor less and lukewarm. We also had the kofte, again not much flavor. The salad was fine the sigar was over priced for what it is but tasted fine. read more
