    Rice & Chicken with Broccoli
    Angela C.

I ordered the Chicken & Broccoli. I didn't feel so good afterwards. I probably will not be back here again.

    Sesame beef
    Patricia K.

Ordered food online for take out and it was ready when we got there. Food is good for the price. Sesame beef is a little slimy. Egg rolls have a great amount of shrimp but could use something more than cabbage inside. Husband said his steamed dumplings were really good. Sweet and sour chicken is pretty good too!

This is their Crispy Beef. Nothing crispy about it.

Very good Chinese food for takeout. Great staff. It is located next to Fast Eddies. The sweet and sour chicken and fried rice is very good.

Our main motivation for visiting was to see Jordan and Cowan, both of whom previously worked at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. Jordan noticed us first and came over to say hello and share an update, and Cowan followed shortly after to do the same. I enjoyed two Sazeracs on the rocks for $10 each; unique to Hooked, this iconic New Orleans cocktail is a spirit-forward blend of Elijah Craig rye whiskey, aromatic bitters, a sugar cube, and an absinthe rinse, finished with a bright lemon twist. We also shared the happy hour wood-fired grilled oysters Reggiano with butter, garlic, blackening parmesan cheese, and salt for $19, though they tasted very salty. Additionally, I had the happy hour lobster roll on a toasted buttered brioche roll for $21, substituting the french fries with a side of coleslaw. It tasted quite similar to the lobster roll at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. I finished my meal with a happy hour draft Evo Lot 3 beer for $6. Our bartender, Jon L., served us very well throughout the visit. The total bill was $128 excluding gratuity, which featured a 3% credit card surcharge of $3.57. After applying a $50 gift letter discount, the final bill was reduced down to $81. We all agreed that we will certainly return to visit Jordan and Cowan again.

One of the great things about the wait is that the restaurant is butt up against a surf shop full of curiosities. We were promptly seated and given a drink menu with many options. We were seated in an open air spot on the water at a pub table. The menu is diverse with many options for different tastes. We ordered the fries to share as an appetizer. It was an insane portion of hand cut potatoes loaded with all of the toppings indicated on the menu. Three of us decided to split two pizzas and an order of wings for dinner, and the other ordered sandwich. The food came out, piping hot, and it was delicious. The Caesar was excellent: fresh, whole romaine hearts tossed in a nice tangy dressing, topped with flavorful brown bread croutons and a solid chunk of quality cheese. The cream of tomato soup was equally good, carrying over those same rich croutons and cheese to tie the meal together seamlessly. Service was top-notch as well--the bartender was friendly and welcoming, and the kitchen churned out the food impressively fast. Great spot all around; I will definitely be back.

Helpful counter gal helped us make choices as we are BLUE CRAB VIRGINS! We chose 1 1/2 dozen medium to large crabs for two people. Based on other reviews, I also ordered a single crab cake, corn and hush puppies for the man. I asked her to send someone out to demonstrate how to open the crabs, and she said absolutely! After a short (seemed really long) wait sipping Coke and water with our toes in the sand under the paper covered table, our crabs were steamed and brought out. A cheerful young man showed us how to open the crabs and which parts we wanted to remove and discard. Armed with the provided mallet and pick, we went to work. On first smash, husband sprayed me with crab juice, so I donned a charming and attractive plastic bib for the remainder of the meal. Technique improved with practice, but I found it to be a lot of work for a tiny amount of meat. Very flavorful, and improved by dipping in drawn butter and old bay seasoning, my little pile of crab meat was shoveled into my mouth with a fork as no pieces were very large. I made time to try the crab cake and munch on the corn in between wrestling with the blue crabs. Crab cake was not as much crab as filler, although tasty enough, it wasn't the best I have had. The corn was stellar, not mushy or overcooked. His hush puppies were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A generous serving, we took half home for the air fryer. We devoured every last bite of the crab though! A real treat occurred when we were nearly finished with our meal, the owner Rob came out to chat. Fascinated by his slip trip and fall prevention device, we had a long conversation about his inventions and marketing them. He shared his business card and even demonstrated the wet floor verbal indicator. Husband really enjoyed meeting him and talking (engineer to engineer). It made the day!

We ordered the seafood combo that included six hard-shell crabs, three pounds of snow crab legs, a half-pound of shrimp, corn, and hush puppies. The hard-shell crabs were decent, although they seemed slightly oversteamed. The meat in the legs was practically fused to the shell, making them difficult to eat. The snow crab legs were good, but the shrimp were noticeably undercooked, which made peeling them nearly impossible. There were a few bright spots. The beer was reasonably priced at $4.50 a pint, and the hush puppies were excellent--arguably the best part of the entire meal. The corn, however, was tough and seemed past its prime. For the roughly $145 we spent on the combo, I expected a better overall dining experience. Sadly, this seems to be the standard at many seafood restaurants these days: higher prices without a corresponding increase in quality. And while it's a minor issue compared to the food, the deck seating chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable and felt out of place for a restaurant charging these prices. Overall, the meal wasn't terrible, but it fell well short of expectations given the cost.
