While staying at the rv park we made it over to breakfast at the Indian Pine Restaurant. Absolutely loved the smoke free atmosphere of the entire casino, makes it easier to enjoy your meal. Our server Marissa was absolutely amazing, pleasant & knew her menu. Hubby ordered the steak & eggs, he said it was tasty & they did a great job making sure his dairy allergy wasn't affected. I ordered the meat omelette, it was a lot of delicious food & I brought half of it back with me. A friend had the Apache Sunrise his go to choice when there for breakfast. The other friend had the ham & cheese omelette with biscuits & gravy. Our friends are yearly visitors to the area so knew their favorite foods. It was an excellent breakfast all around. We've only had good experiences on Saturday night. The carved Prime Rib is very good but perhaps a bit too rare. Everyone wants end cuts and that leaves the middle almost raw. They usually have a good scrimp dish or 2 that are very good. Everyone is nice and service is good. Over all we will be back on Saturday evenings. read more

I would not recommend this restaurant. Please just eat elsewhere. I had a cheeseburger with a dried out bun with rotten lettuce. The server only took the order and never came back. The food stained fabric booth and drab atmosphere did not help the experience. read more

Friendly staff, order steak under your temp I got a ribeye, i had asked if they could do it med rare and actually hit that temp, they weren't sure so i went with rare and ended up getting mid-rare which was what i wanted. Veggies were so overcooked they were mush. I would just skip veggies if you can and get something else as a side, even a second salad! Salad bar is basic but it fufilled my desire in salad. The buffet seemed dry and uninspired with limited food choices. I passed on it. Could be they were severely understaffed though as we were told 1 waitress was working the entire place herself with a hostess. This used to be a pretty good place - long ago. Years ago it was run by someone from Vegas who knew how to serve good casino food, but no longer. Until last year one could at least depend on a good holiday buffet (Thanksgiving and Christmas,) but last year's were terrible, with a high price and poor quality meats, desserts - and most everything else. I would imagine it was the poor economy of the previous four years that hurt it, and hope it might now get better, but I have not seen that yet. read more

We went to a mother's day brunch at the Hon Dah Casino with friends who invited us. The brunch was in the Indian Pine Restaurant that is behind the casino. The restaurant is so beautiful and very clean. It had lovely paintings and carvings. It was very inviting. We were greeted and shown to a table. It took a while for someone to take our drink order and since we ordered alcohol, it came from the casino. I asked if they had a Prosecco but I got a blank stare, so I said any bubbly drink. She went to ask then, after a while l, came back and said they had a moscato which was the closest to my request. (?) I just got a glass of wine since my drink order seemed to be holding up everyone else's. We finally got drinks and decided to go get cheese and crackers for the table while we enjoyed the drinks but, by then, the guys were so hungry we all just went to get food. The food was ok. They had a beef Wellington, which I love, but I ended up with an end cut which was dry. The fish was ok but there was no potato crust. Just random, stray potatoes on top the fish. There were some tasty side dishes. The dessert bar was large including some sugar free desserts. I had a teeny slice of a couple pies. (Yes, Russ-all those PIES! :). I likes some more than others. They were as good as pies at other buffets I've had. I'm glad I got to try the buffets at Hon Dah. Maybe it was a bit busy since it was Mother's Day which may have affected service. Well, I have done my last buffet. I'm doing there. The food was cold. The shrimp was gummy. It had just opened up an hour prior to us and half the stuff was empty. I had to ask the girl three times to get the melted butter for the crab legs, which there's snow crabs they're not steamed properly . The servers were fine. They were doing the tables, but the ones behind the buffet area act like they didn't want to be there. It's just a typical restaurant for the ambience nothing spectacular read more

My husband and I went to try this on the fish Friday. We hadn't been here before and didn't realize when you arrive you have to put your name on a list to be seated. But a nice guest informed us. After we got our name on the list, we were seated pretty quickly and didn't have to wait long. The staff was really nice and the food was as good as we have been hearing about for years. We did the buffet and were glad that word of mouth has been so right. Everything was delicious. And for a buffet type restaurant, it wasn't very loud even though it was busy. We have come here almost every Saturday night for the dinner buffet of Prime Rib. My wife and I have watched a steady decline of the food quality & cleanliness. Their soft service machine is broken half of the time and the baked desserts are stale and tasteless most days now. Tough prime rib, undercooked chicken don't justify the price anymore. I'm a lady in the street but a freak at the buffet. Well, maybe not at this buffet. We were staying nearby for our fishing excursion when Hunger strikes. We want food and we want it NOW! After a short 25 minute drive, we strolled into Indian Pine Restaurant for the $22.95/pp seafood dinner buffet, 4pm-10pm. King crab legs (Friday night only) included! So how was the food? Eh! The food could have been better. Selection was small as far as buffets go. The oysters smelled so fishy that no one wanted to try them. The prime rib was decent if slightly over-cooked. I did like the guy with the sleeves tattoos who took out a thing of freshly cooked prime rib and cut it for me while proclaiming that I was a pretty lady [even though I was dirty, frazzled, and slightly sunburnt from fishing all day]. The clam chowder was pretty good too since you can practically taste all the cream and butter used with every bite. Everything else was a pass. Keep in mind though, there are only three small sections: Salad/soup area combined with some cold foods, a few trays of hot foods, and a really small dessert area with a soft serve ice cream machine. One out of seven of us ended up getting food poisoning and we suspect the Parmesan lobster tails. We stayed at the Hon-Dah Resort for a 3 day ski-get-away. After a great day of skiing we were looking forward to a dinner at the Indian Pine Restaurant. We were seated, our waitress came by and pouredour water. 45 mins later our waitress was no where to be found, tables around us were anxiously looking for her too. We finally grabbed the hostess, who was very apologetic and took our order, 2 burgers and a bowl of soup. It took another 45 mins to get our order. My soup was cold and inedible, but the burgers were good. As we grabbed the hostess to pay for our meal our waitress showed up to bus the table. Note: in normal conditions we would not wait 45 minutes for a waitress to take our order and gone elsewhere, but there was a blizzard and the roads were impassible. What I think management misses; is that we would have eaten all of our meals at the restaurant because of the convenience, but we couldn't chance such poor customer service and we gave our business elsewhere. Lastly, and more costly, we will not stay the resort again!! read more

We were very disappointed in our service on Fathers Day for breakfast. We got our names on the list and told 30 min wait. We waited for about 20-25 mins by their outside restaurant entrance along with another family but never heard any names being called. I went up to check and our name had been scratched off the list already. After inquiring about this, the server didn't know why but sat us right away. We then waited another 10 mins before having our drink orders taken and longer after that to place our food order. The server who took our food order made some excuse about our server being busy. Like she was doing us a favor. Then we proceeded to wait over an hour for an omelette, pancakes, fresh fruit and Chobani yogurt. One server said she would check on our food and never came back so 15 mins later I finally had to ask 2 other servers who also went to check right away. The restaurant was busy but we sat down around the same time as another couple and they had eaten and gone by the time we got our food. Other people were eating their food who were seated in an area that wasn't seating anyone when we first got our table. Only once during our long wait were our drink orders refilled and finally again after making a big fuss about our food did they refill them again and say they wouldn't charge us for the refills. All in all we were there over 2 hours and every step of the way I had to ask for service including a to go box and our check. I try to support the local economy and especially the tribal community but we won't be going back to this restaurant any time soon. read more

Horrible customer service. No topping off of drinks. Had to ask twice for refill. 1st time, my server gave me a mean look n walked away without saying anything. Foods were waaay over cooked. Veggies are mushy, n so was the shrimp. Staff started putting food n plates away, yet the restaurant was still filled with people. I wanted to try some cobbler for dessert but i was told they will not be putting any more out...it was 9pm. Also, no one was tending the prime rib bar. Well we have had good meals here so the kitchen crew are great; food is priced right; Downside is like previous reviews--when ordering off the menu--no one waits on you w/o asking for help--that's ok the wait staff are always friendly. I paid the check tonight with 2 people waiting to pay--when it came to my turn--for some reason the cashier who doubled as a hostess--had me wait 10 min. before taking my check--rude. Because of that we're going to try the many other eating places in Pinetop that are listed here in yelp for a different (better) experience. read more

Horrible! Went there last night. One member of our party got the buffet e went up 3 times before another person an I even recieved our off the menu orders. We waited an HOUR for a chicken ceasar salad and one burger with fries. We are not complainers at all, but when we did finally ask what was taking so long, the response we got was "oh theres only one line cook tonight." Which I'm certain was a lie because I saw two guys back there with chef hats on. No one ever came to the table during that whole wait time to apologize or give an explanation. I usually go here on Friday for the Prime Rib and Crab Legs. Both are excellent. The Salad Bar has a great selection and and the deserts are good too. I realize the service can sometimes be slow but I've gotten used to that. They also have a menu but the only items I have ordered were a Hamburger and Pizza, both were very good. read more

We went to dinner here the other night, opting for the buffet because while my son and boyfriend were wanting prime rib and seafood, I don't eat either one but assumed there would be more options with buffet. I was wrong. Very wrong! The prime rib was rubbery and gristley and had no flavor according to both my son and boyfriend. The salad I decided on was wilted and lacking in variety. Long story short, it was a huge disappointment. When I spoke to the manager I was basically told "So what" but then the head chef contacted me, offering to arrange for the three of us to return to the buffet on any other night and swore it would be better but it has been a week and so far no word back so I am guessing I will have paid over $30 for two waters and an ice tea as that was all that was consumable. read more

While in Pinetop, we are Indian Pine regulars. My folks, siblings, uncles/aunts and cousins included! The restaurant may seem small, don't let that fool ya. Good food at reasonable prices. Staff is friendly. Service is great. Can be a little slow when the place gets busy. And boy can it get busy. The buffet (breakfast/lunch/dinner) are the bargain meals. Today for lunch I had a large serving from the salad bar plus pork chops with a Dijon/cream sauce. My spouse had carved ham with honey pineapple glaze. The other offerings were baked chicken, goulash, rice pilaf, or roasted potatoes, and dessert. ($7). There are special buffet and dinner nights. Seafood on Friday, Prime Rib on Saturday. Friday night's seafood buffet may seem high ($23), doesn't stop my family or anyone else from loading up on those crab legs, shrimp, fish, etc. I crack up seeing all the plates full of crap shells piled high on all the tables. It's a crab fest ever Friday night. I don't eat much shell fish but my uncle makes up for it with his 3 platefuls! Desserts go fast so when you see the dessert table replenished, get up and grab a plate or two. (Only buffet meals include dessert table). My father likes the apple or pecan pie. I prefer the brownies. Small but delicious chocolate frosting. There's also cake, cookies, a crumble of some kind and soft ice cream (chocolate sauce and sprinkles) Our absolute favorite is Tuesday's Ribeye Steak special. Steak, choice of mash/baked potato or rice pilaf, steamed veggies, roll, soup or trip to salad bar. ($12 w/ club card). Perfection every time plus I bring half my dinner home! Having said all that, I tend to order from the menu. Servings are big. (I don't eat enough for an all-you-can-eat buffet). Grilled Salmon Caesar salad is my favorite. Especially since they grill it exactly to my liking. The burgers are huge, steak fries yummy. Navajo tacos the size of a dinner plate! Oh, don't forget Sunday brunch! A must for Mother's or Father's Day. By the way, there's a small quiet bar in the hotel lobby. (No slot machine noise). An after dinner drink by the huge fireplace is a great way to end the evening. read more

If I could give Zero Stars for this years Christmas buffet I would. It was ridiculous this year! We have gone for years and enjoyed the Christmas buffet. After waiting an hour and half for a table. I expected Prime Rib as it was posted in the menu. Instead got steak that was over cooked and full of grease. The food was horrible! Thanksgiving buffet was AMAZING! I own a restaurant & am usually very lenient on the bad because I know how tough this biz is...however, this place just blows. No one was there to greet us so we just wandered in. A hostess finally greeted us as we headed towards the buffet selection to decide on that or not. Hostess said, "Just sit anywhere". On her advice we sat ourselves & then sat there for 10 mins awaiting service. When we were finally waited on & ordered were told to help ourselves to salad bar & I understood soup too? We went up, got salad, they had oil but no vinegar! I got soup too, tomato. When I sat down our waitress appeared & informed me soup would be extra, one or the other! This did piss me off since I had already endured slow service & would've thought the .10 soup could've been overlooked! No such luck! At this point I went up to complain about there being oil but no vinegar & was able to get that taken care of! My husband & I ordered prime rib, mine med & his med-rare....both were the same? I'd call them both med-well! Mine was also mostly fat but I don't blame them for that! When u know a customer is not happy: One don't charge them for the .10 cent soup; two, make sure they r happy with the main course; three, attempt to make up for it!?
