I visited this restaurant last night and ordered masala dosa. It was very well made - light, crispy, and fresh with just the right amount of spice in the potatoes. The sambar was flavorful with a good amount of vegetables in it. Both the coconut chutney and other side chutney tasted amazing. Hats off to the chef. On the negative side, the tables were not clean, and I didn't see any napkins. It could be because it was late at night, and the place was busy. When I had last visited this same place some years ago, they were selling different types of roti. We had bought butter chicken roti, and one other type of roti I can't recall. The roti had been stretchy and the chicken, although of good quantity, had tasted very bad. We had to trash most of it. I am so happy that I gave this establishment another chance. Got a medium butter chicken roti. It took about 10 minutes and came out piping hot. The flavor of the butter chicken was good and spicy for medium so if you can't handle spice be aware. It was a small place that seems to primarily handle takeout orders. The roti was pretty big and filling for two of us. I will come back to try the other items on the menu read more

Randomly walked by this location while I was in the area and didn't even know it existed. I ordered the Lamb biryani to go and it stayed warm until I got home. The portion was big enough for it to be two meals, which worked out really well for me. I thought that it would've been a bit more spicier, but it worked for my pallet read more

ordered 5 masala dosa and dosa tasted extreme sour , mint chutney and sambar tasted the same. we also ordered jeers soda, also sour. Everyone of us left more than half food on the tray . Have to write this review immediately after bringing the food back to our condo. Wife loves the samosa chaat, and the order of two is humongous. Speaking of large portions, the vegan soy madras is chunky with a great spicy sauce and is so big I might have meals for a couple of days. Add to that the vegan mushroom masala and I am definitely set for the rest of our time in Toronto. So well done, cannot recommend enough. read more

I was only inToronto for a weekend but I love Roti and this was right around the corner from me. The shop is small a little sitting but for the most part take it to go. A lot of options loved the paintings. I do believe the cashier had me pay and forgot to put my order in but even with that it didn't take long to get my food and I wasn't in a rush so I wasn't tripping. Delicious, authentic butter chicken! Had the butter chicken roti and it was piping hot. There isn't as much chicken and there are potatoes in it which was interesting and I don't mind it at all. The price is steep. About $14 for one roti. They used to be a lot cheaper... $8 before so they have really brought their price up in the last few years. Doesn't take away from the taste... I got the saag paneer roti (mild) and loved it! The saag was creamy and had a good balance of spice. There was a decent amount of paneer, but I could always have more! There were also chunks of potatoes in it. The roti was soft and thin. With a generous portion of the saag paneer, I didn't feel like I was eating layers of plain roti where it was folded. The portion is very big! My advice is to split it into 2 meals / share it with someone if you don't want a food coma.... It look a while for the food to be prepared, but it means it's freshly made! Plus a lot of people ordered online/call in beforehand and just came to pick up their order. I will consider doing that next time. This is mainly a take-out place but do have places for you to enjoy the delicious food fresh! 2 seat down tables and a bar with stools are located inside and 3 outdoor tables. read more

i'd always gotten malai kofta from here because it had become one of my favourites in the city. i've tried many of their dishes but i'd become partial to this particular dish due to my former vegetarianism. however this may change due to their lack of attentiveness. my partner and i both got stomach upset after each eating one tray recently. first bite i immediately felt like the roti was cold and hard, like it was not fresh and it had been out for a long time. i decided to ignore it. second dig i realized that the actual koftas weren't thoroughly fried. they were very soft/not firm. they still tasted okay so i didn't want to complain. in hindsight they might have been left out in the sauce for a while and got soggy. next, i requested utensils and they never gave them. this is the third time i did not get proper utensils, or any, for my order. i understand some people eat by hand but given covid times it's probably better to avoid doing that, plus it shouldn't matter how you choose to eat it anyway. after a few hours my partner and i both realized we had a stomach upset. so bad that we had to stay in that night. whatever it was that was making us sick, i hope the restaurant takes more careful measures with their food safety. read more

Got the butter chicken roti and I loved it. With three spice levels, I found the medium just the right amount of spice. Although on the pricey side for 1 serving costing nearly $16 after a 10% cash discount, I was glad that the portion is very filling. I was able to get two meals out of it! I recommend choosing the roti option over the rice. But I am looking forward to trying the biryani as well. One side note that bothered me was that I found a piece of hair in my food. Hopefully this is just a one-off, and won't happen again. Since the order does take a while to be prepared, I recommend ordering online ahead of time and paying when you pickup in store. We would probably never have looked at this place twice but it was right across the street from where we were staying and it was raining so we checked the reviews and called in a take out order. What a delightful surprise. I'd never had roti before but I will definitely come back here next time I'm in Toronto. We split the butter roti and the samosa chaat and they were both fantastic. I love this place. The meat and sauce is tucked inside a fresh made roti - like a roti burrito. The roti has great fluffy texture like a pancake. Tip: Its a bit of a wait once you order. Its a good 15-20 minute wait for your food to come. Everything is fresh and made to order so its kind of the price you pay. It is a bit chaotic in there because its one guy manning the station but the food is worth the headache. My friend and I got the Curry chicken roti and the lamb tiki masala roti. Fantastic find near Waterfront in Toronto. Open late until 10pm, this place has well priced, large portioned, and great flavored Roti. I love their Mango Chicken Roti, a delicious, sweet, and lightly spicy Roti that will satisfy your Curry flavor desires and fill your belly with warm happiness. This place is almost like a hole in the wall fast casual restaurant. There's a few seats, but it's mostly takeout. It got busy really quickly around 6pm on a weekend! First time trying roti so I stuck to what seemed like a pretty basic order, the curry lamb roti (mild spicy). I actually can't eat tomatoes (they give me mad heartburn) so I was disappointed to taste that the curry was tomato based. I like how you can order different spice levels but I wish the menu was a bit more descriptive about what the curry is made out of. One of the worst quality food both in taste and quality. I spent $100 here for a takeout & ended up eating same flavor roti including the one they claimed as Hakka. The quality of chicken was so bad that I even had an upset stomach. I normally don't write reviews on Yelp. I review on Google Maps quite a bit which I did even for this outlet. However I was attacked viciously by the owner for posting review & was accused of being Fake. The owner is very unwelcoming of critical reviews & would tag them all as fake. I have therefore now decided to let everyone know of the low quality of food served at his place & will also be submitting a complain with city. The place serves the Indian cuisine in a slightly different way. Generally breads and curry is served separately but they provide curries inside the bread or roti like a big wrap. I ordered their paneer tikka roti. It was piping hot when it was served. The portion size was huge. It took me a while to finish it. But the taste was very average. Tried the butter chicken roti and the chicken jalfrezi roti. I ordered the chicken jalfrezi because the description made it seem like it would have more veggies in it than the othet choices. But it mostly just had some peas and that was it in terms of veggies. In terms of the curry sauce, wasn't that impressed with the flavour. You can choose mild, med, or spicy. I got med and it was a good level of spiciy-ness. Butter chicken sauce was a bit better. But still don't think I'd come back here. I was in Toronto last week for a conference, and saw the Roti House on Yelp. Since I love Indian food, it sounded absolutely perfect; my only problem now is that we have no roti in Indianapolis...I must speak to the folks at our local Indian restaurants about this! I had a saag paneer roti, medium spice, and it was absolutely delicious!! I've had saag paneer many times, but I have to say, this is the best I've ever had; the spices are so fresh that the flavor just explodes with each bite. I'm not just talking about heat here, I'm talking about the complex blend of spices that really made this dish something special. Medium spice was perfect for me; some heat without overpowering the dish. The chewy roti went so well with the creamy spinach and I loved the addition of potatoes. The cubes of paneer were fresh and delicious. As others have noted, they are making the food to order, and so if you don't call ahead, expect to wait. I only had to wait about 15-20 minutes for mine, and it was well worth that wait; this is not food that has been sitting on steam tables all day. No, there aren't a lot of tables, this is a carryout place, but if the weather is nice, like it was during my visit, there are a ton of benches on the Harborfront across the street that make for wonderful picnic spots. Advice for anyone who is in town for a convention...this is a very short walk from the Convention Center...and you wanted to see the Harborfront anyway right? read more

Great place, have only ordered remotely through this location, but been several times to the Church location. Food is good and consistent. It's one of the better roti places in Toronto and there's both vegetarian and vegan options, which is great to see. Prices have gone up sadly, but it's still a lot cheaper than going to an indiaj restaurant and ordering these dishes. Be careful with the level of spice you order as it varies day to day. Somedays a medium is mild, others it will rip your tongue off. When in doubt, go with mild. read more
