I would NEVER rent from them again! First of all, the front door was broken so at first we could not get in, Then we found a way to "push and pull" to get in. We woke up with a dead battery each morning as the battery was old and there was only one small solar panel and the fridge runs on electric so it would take all the power. So no power to run the water pump after dark. We had to pour water down to use the toilet. Then the shore power connection did not work so we were forced to use - and pay for - the generator which was part of the vehicle. The vehicle was not very clean when we picked it up. There was no plate in the microwave and no plug for the kitchen sink. We called the number about the door and battery and were connected to a foreign "customer service" location by chat only. Impossible to speak with a "real" person. The only "repair" option provided was for us to take the camper to a local repair place, pay for it, and they would reimburse us. That was not acceptable. What a terrible business model! They should come to our location to repair, or switch it out with another vehicle. Those were not options. The "positives" : The local pick up/drop off staff were very nice, understood our issues, wrote them down, and hopefully took care of it before the next person, but we still had to pay for the generator use. The fridge worked well. The beds were fine. The pump worked when we were using their generator. The final negative -- they took a $2000 deposit, and once we returned the vehicle, sent an email stating that until we provided them a review on their website of our experience, they would not release our deposit! This forced us to give them a "decent" review on their website, which was not truthful. So between the lack of customer service if you had a problem and the problems with the vehicle, i would never use this company again. read more

Rented a Campervan in Ireland for a week with my Fiancée. Our experience was abysmal to say the least. The depot took ages to get our campervan ready. Right off the bat, there was no gas canister for our heating. The employee told us we can get it at any gas station. This was not true. Spent the entire week Freezing! With no hot water and no heating in the biting cold of an Irish winter. We tried calling the company and were met with hair-pulling customer service with a very long wait time and no direction! The campervan itself was terrible quality. Cheap components all over the inside and a smell of mold and sewage. The shifting of the transmission was dodgy and felt very unsafe driving it. The dodgy suspension didn't help either. The sound system was cheap and too shrill to listen to. Not to mention there was a light broken on the back of the van which of course was a danger to us and other road users. We weren't able to use the restroom after the second day as the door handle just fell off... the only way to open the door was with a pliers I had to buy. Anyway, while driving on the straight and narrow my Fiancée and I are sitting in silence and then BOOM! the door to the closet decides to lunge itself across the campervan. Scared the lights out of us! It was completely broken off! The only place it would go is along the main bed in the back! So there we were on our pre-marital holiday sleeping with a big wooden door! So after a week of freezing cold living in the indie campers campervan, we had to wait ages in the cold to talk to one of the representatives. And go about our way to the airport! Here's the worst part.. a tiny little bang on the bumper that we apparently are responsible for, resulted in indie campers charging us over $2000! We could have bought our own campervan for that! In what world would that cost $2000?? All in all it absolutely ruined our holiday that we saved up for. It would have been more luxurious if we had rented a nice car and pitched a tent! The amount we paid was insane compared to the atrocious quality of the van and the appalling customer service. I absolutely insist against renting off of indie campers. read more

NEVER RENT FROM INDIE CAMPER Their campers are of very poor quality and when you need help (because something will 100% break in these low-quality campers) their costumer support is terrible. They will only provide you with google-search links on what you have to do without doing ANYTHING themselves. Save your vacation and DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! read more

BEWARE. MUST READ: While I valued the new RVs at the company for a competitive price, I ran into some major issues along the way. 1) I was charged $500 fee when explicitly told that I was not going to be charged anything. 2) Company representative at the pick-up center lied about processing the refund that same day. 3) It took me several days on the trip to reach that person. 4) Instead of owning the responsibility to resolve the issue, he told me to call customer service myself. 5) The next 3 calls resulted in lies and blunt refusal to help me, ping-ponging to different people and suggesting that I can't prove a refund is to be issued (all recorded). DO NOT SIGN PAPERWORK without checking EVERY LITTLE THING! I got the $500 refund but I'd probably pay that much more initially to avoid the horrible experience. Unfortunately, the company doesn't want to make it right with customers and this approach will help them in the long run. read more

Truly a big no-go as far as we are concerned. We were sent off with our two small children in the United States with a camper in very poor condition. Everything was broken, cracked, replaced, and improvisedly glued back together. The Indie campers are preferably sent out again on the same day to the next renters. Maintenance is not done; there simply isn't any time for it. Aside from the visible damage to the camper, to make matters worse, the camper's battery was at the end of its life. The battery lasted only 2 to 3 hours, which meant we couldn't use the freezer, fridge, air conditioning, or heater. In short, none of the essentials you need when you plan to drive from one National Park campground to another. Indie Campers also does not have an onsite support number you can call. There is only a WhatsApp number, where the average response time was eight hours (!) and we were then told to find an RV repair shop ourselves to fix the issue. Outrageous. Furthermore, the carbon monoxide detector went off several nights in a row, which was a highly frightening experience as we had to evacuate the camper with the children each time. When returning the camper, we were supposedly met with full understanding for our negative experiences and told that we could submit a refund request and that we would be compensated fairly. In the end, we received 100 compensation on a trip costing 5,000. An absurdly low amount that does not even remotely do justice to the negative experience. Even the promise of a fair compensation turned out to be a trick. So don't let them brush you off when you return the camper! read more

A scam like business. Hidden fees, dishonesty, and a nightmare experience ruin the whole trip. I booked a Camper Jeep for a three-day trip in Seattle with Indie Camper. Despite shape fees and pickup/dropoff inconvenience, we decided to try Indie Camper for once. The online process was smooth. Until the day we went to pick up the car when the company made us look like a f*king idiot. The online process was good so that we could pay them. However, behind the scene, the company is a sh*t show. 1. the hidden fee - the car is listed so cheap that you have to book. Then, the hidden fees start to sneak up on you. I booked a Jeep for two nights. (50$/night). I paid 515$ in total. The service fee is 80$, Preparation fee is 80$. The insurance fee is 83$. And more fees like extra miles fee, bedding fee, late dropoff fee. 2. Nightmare pickup rental car experience - The company advertised the pickup location to me 30 min from SEA airport. It is already inconvenient compared to mainstream rental car locations. However, it is understandable before it is mentioned upfront. However, it is a lie. The pickup location is just an empty parking lot. The building looks abandoned. The actual location is more than 2 hours away. - I showed up at the pickup location for 2 hours. No one showed up. I called their customer service three times, only to be greeted by their unhelpful staff who had no clue about everything. They promised to call back that never happened. I sat there in the parking looking like a fool, regretting our decisions. After two hours, someone did show up. He asked us to check in like business as usual. Like WTF, this is the way your company doing business. What's more, he told us that we wouldn't get the car that we booked and paid for. It will be a completely different model and type. We booked a Jeep and he gave us a van. Another slap in the face. We looked at each other, feeling f*king stupid. About half an hour later, a lady came in and told us that we would get the Jeep. However, the tire pressure light is ON. She told us to ignore the warning light. I was like 'wtf'. But what else can I do at this point? My trip is already ruined. So we waited for one more hour for them to clean up and fill oil for the Jeep. In total, we waited for almost 4 hours to pick up the car. Going through an emotional roller coaster. At that time, I swear to god that I will never spend a cent on Indie Camper again. 3. Dishonesty My trip is ruined for the check-in with Indie Camper already. I just hope I can check out with no issue. So that, I can go home. However, when I got to the check-out, I realized that the mileage on my contract was different than the actual mileage on the car. I only knew that because I took pictures of the car mileage during check-in. The starting mileage was 100 miles off which would result in a $ 75 extra charge. I had to show the evidence to the staff there to not be charged. This is so sneaky, such a dishonest act. Such a disappointment. I believe I would absolutely be charged for that 100 miles if I had not taken the picture. read more

Horrible company that does not care about its costumers. The camper they gave us was terrible. Extremely dirty (mouldy yoghurt on the walls and ceiling dirty...), broken equipment in it (broken table among others) and we did nog get the equipment in the camper we were promised (no bed sheets among other, which resulted in us freezing and not sleeping the first night in the camper). We had to clean the whole camper ourselves, buy tools to fix the table and buy our own bed sheets to not freeze to death. All because contacting their help departement is completely useless, no help at all. They care 0 for their costumers, they just want your money. read more
