It is such a pleasure to first review the Lost Mountain Alpaca Ranch on Yelp! One word to describe…read moreour experience here, FANTASTIC!! Our visit here is definitely going in the books! I was looking for a private experience for our family of 3 that doesn't involve a lot of crowds and where my daughter could have private time with animals and this place was perfect! I booked our experience directly through the website: (when you book, I advice you to do it as well to avoid additional fees) https://lostmountainalpacaranch.com/ I booked the 60 minute experience for our family and we were in for such a treat. The owners David and Tina were very welcoming, friendly, and very open to educating us about their farm, the lovely alpacas, their cats, and the super cute guard dog, Bodhi. During the private experience, we interacted with the alpacas and fed them their breakfast, our session was at 10am. We really enjoyed the stories the owners told us about the alpacas and the farm. I really loved the experience as it was just for our group and we throughly enjoyed it, I didn't have to worry about crowds and I wasn't rushed. Can't wait to see the alpacas again the next time we are in the area.

The strawberries were huge, juicy and super sweet. It was a bit muddy but that's honestly the best time to pick them. As a side note the berries are across the street and with Newton County slowly growing crossing the street can be a bit hectic. Thankfully the kids we were with were between the ages of 6-9 so it was a bit easier to cross the street. But none the less still hectic. We went on a Saturday during peak hours which the kids enjoyed because there were so many new possible friends to be made while playing on the on-site playground. Plenty of photo worthy backgrounds, plenty of ripe berries and 10/10 worth every penny. Everyone that worked on the day we visited were super sweet and attentive. Not to mention patient. They really enjoy the service that they provide to the community. We also stop by later in the year for the pumpkin patch as well. This is a family favorite and generational stop for my family!

All of their other farm features were open during the festival, such as srawberry picking, gem mining, and of course the shop full of goodies. There were also outside vendors set up, farmer's market style, and a musician entertaining us all. We went to the lavender field only to find that you had to pay for the picking back in the shop. No worries as the line was not that long. We got our PVC tubing and clippers (both provided by them), and started to pick. There was a good selection and the field seemed full. After about 30 minutes and a lot of photo ops, we were done and they wrap and tie your lavender for you. It was a great experience! We then went to the shop to get some food, but all they had were drinks and dessert type items, so main course foods. There is an opportunity there for sure!

Cost was close to $800 for 2 people + lunch/dinner expense. It was probably a 3.5-4 star experience. Spa: Was my favorite part. Services and staff were great and everyone was friendly. I got the massage, body scrub and reflexology. Although I found the spa a bit cramped. On Saturday the waiting area was crowded. Who wants to sit should shoulder to shoulder in a robe. They really need a larger reception area and waiting area to make it more serene. In the waiting area the receptionist sits at a tiny checkin table. She should be at a reception booth in my opinion. Inn: Think bed and breakfast. Nothing fancy but clean and nice. Not a 5 star hotel. Breakfast: Was great. You can select from eggs, omlet, French toast and they also had fruit and fresh juices Tea time: Tea time is 4-5p at the farmhouse restaurant. It leaves much to be desired. As another reviewer mentioned it is basically frozen appetizers and potato chips. You know how Costco sells that frozen mini quiches? Yup that's it. It would be sooooo easy to improve upon this! Overall serenbe is a cool place. It's definitely like no place I have been before. Lots of walking and hiking and nature. But they can easily improve upon the experience. It's a high price point and some improvements would certainly help. Add some street lights! The parking lots are so dark you can't see your own two feet. It's dangerous. A fridge in each room would be cool too. More signage. It's hard to your way if you are new to the area.
