All that happened was that it ended up getting darker and darker and had what I thought was about 3 different shades of blonde. Finally I had it and went in search of a new salon. After a lot of research and a big thank you to everyone for their reviews I went to Bijou. I am sooooooo happy I did!!!! Now going to a new salon you don't know anyone and you don't know who you are going to be working with. Shira did my color and a cut. My word, you could not ask for a nicer person to do your hair. Shira and her boss spent over twenty minutes alone figuring out what products to use to get my hair ash blonde (the color I was asking for at the other salon but never got). Not only was my hair not even close to ash blonde it had at least 5 or more shades of blonde, yellow , orange and my roots. I was there for awhile but it did not even feel like it. Everyone was so nice and the salon is very comfortable. This is one of my favorite cut and colors I ever had, and I have been coloring for a LONG time now. Shira did an amazing job and I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend Bijou. They are a little pricey but my hair was a disaster and I can't believe what a difference a couple of hours and a great stylist can do. I told her my tale about the previous stylist I had and the damage that he did to my hair all in one sitting. Alyssa listens.! after intense, discussion and consultation, we came up with a preliminary plan. And this plan has worked toward. Correcting my natural color from a disgusting blonde that the previous stylist did to my hair after my telling him I did not want blonde, and cutting off all the dead hair into a style that my newfound curls from my natural /white have been so complementary to me from my family and friends. I heard of the Blo Out Lounge through word of mouth and the photos on their instagram was enough to draw me into booking an appointment. I made an appointment with Tina and she did a fantastic job with my hair. She really took her time, and her expertise with blowouts made me feel confident and beautiful when she was done. She was also very friendly and we had a nice conversation while she did my hair and I highly recommend you book an appointment with her. I've been going to Dan, for haircuts, for just over a year. He listens and offers advice while…read moreproviding consistently great cuts. He will work with you to transition to a totally different look and know when to say something will not work for you. I've referred friends to him who are just as satisfied as I am and are also referring to Dan. That, I believe is a great testimonial in itself. When you are with Dan, he is focused on you and not conducting business or socializing with other clients. You can count on a minimum of 1 hour for a cut (I have short hair). It's a small and social salon which adds to the experience. You do not have the buzz and chatter of the larger salons. I should mention, although I don't "do" color, I like the color I've seen on other clients. With Dan and Katie's (make-up) help, I was quite the Liza Minnelli for Halloween. Katie researched Liza's looks and did a great job. With the exception of the signature beauty mark....I wish I had the occasion to use her talents again. Dan accomplished the perfect Liza 'do' --spraying my grey hair black. Perfect. Their energy for Liza was catching... a fun memory with a dynamic team. My ONLY reason for the 4 vs 5 stars...is timeliness. Dan can run late. It's a small price to pay for a great cut in a very comfortable, relaxing environment.
